I went yesterday to have a nice meal and asked for a table for 2. It was a packed restaurant, with no waiting space so I decided to sit in my car for 15 minutes like the server said after writing our name down. After coming back into the restaurant after the allotted 15 minutes, the server told us that shed been calling our name and gave the table to the next group instead. So from the start the restaurant didnt write down the phone numbers of their customers forcing them to stay standing in a crowded space waiting for a table. After waiting another 30 minutes inside the restaurant, we finally get seated, and order our meal. When the bill came by, we try to pay with a prepay card which we knew had well over the balance of the bill. Then we are told by our waiter that their system was only able to charge for part of the bill. So after a brief discussion we realize that we need to get going and decide to pay with a different card. We give the waiter another card and he takes both cards back to the register. Then returns back with only the second card. I try to question the waiter about the first card, but he claims that he has misplaced the card. After arguing with multiple personnel, we decide that its not worth going after and exited the restaurant. Poor waiting procedure and a shady employee. While it may have been a freak incident, this kind of service has ruined the restaurant for me and my partner.

Was a bit of a wait, but as a group of six trying to get into a restaurant at prime time without a reservation can be difficult to accommodate. The food was well worth the wait. We had the Calamari, Carpacio, Salumi Italiani for apps, which all were fantastic (I was told the Calamari was awesome, but an allergy prevents me from having an opinion). For an entree I had the Alla Crema, which I order with hesitation. Im not a fan of Gorgonzola, but the dish as a whole sounded great, so I took the gamble. It was delicious. To the point I will no longer avoid dishes which contain blue cheese now. I didnt have a dessert, but at the table someone order the canolis and they said they were really good. The old fashioned I had was probably the most spot on old fashioned ever. A lot of place recently seemed to try and get to creative with making their own old fashioned. Not here, they are not messing with something which is already perfect. Overall experience was great. I would recommend it and will definitely try to visit there again next Im in the area.

The server was the only good thing about this place. 1st, one of the cooks kept allowing his 2 small children to go in the back and get their own chunks of bread and play and then go back to their table. There were only 2 other tables of diners when we were in there, so I guess the staff thought this was ok. Major health department violation. 2nd, the calzone had no tomato sauce anywhere and the ingredients were all piled onto a thin slice of pizza dough. This is not calzone. Im not sure why they get such high marks other than the locals here have never been to Italy or the east coast for authentic Italian food. Again the server was great. Food was not. For great pizza and pasta dishes go to Kennys East Coast Pizza in Plano. Closest thing to Italy or New York in the Dallas area.

Food was good but the service - good golly. Our server was just clueless about most things. After we finished our meal, he came to the table and began to clear it assuming we were through and wanted to know how to present the check. We were celebrating a birthday, I told him that when I first arrived. So we had to ask for a dessert menu. To which he, in a monotone reply, quickly uttered tiramisu and creme brûlée. Irritating. Terrible presence and zero ability in presenting choices professionally or enjoyably. We then had to ask for coffee and it took forever. One person has already finished their dessert before the coffee arrived - twice irritating. This place has good food, a great atmosphere and potential if only they had decent waiters.

****Beware of the hidden costs on your bill***** I ordered a pizza $9 and a pasta dish $15 and one soda $2. Subtotal was supposed to be $26.00 but my bill reflected $29.00. No explanation provided for the variance. When i asked why the variance, i was told it was because i added peppers to my pasta dish. Three dollars for peppers?? I wouldnt have added had i known it came at an additional excessive cost. I wouldve been ok with just using red pepper flakes for free just to get the spice i wanted. All that aside, any additional cost should be explained prior to ordering and should be reflected on the receipt. This seems shady and deceiving to the customer. So sad this restaurant practices business this way because the food was great. Oh well.

This was the second time for me and my family to go here. First time took 20 minutes to get out drinks with only 8 customers there. Tonight we went and took over an hour to get our food. We had to get it to go since it took longer than they told us and we asked for a manager. He told us he didnt care that it took an hour since it was a Saturday night. We could have been to another establishment and would have been quicker. This isnt my first time out on a Saturday We only ordered a salad and two entrees. They also werent that family friendly. Foods decent but service is bad. We wont be going back. The manager is condescending and doesnt know the business.

Been there 4 times and once for take out. First time was awesome. Food presentation was beautiful and everything clicked. Since then I have come to understand that consistency in food presentation (same dish), serving size (same dish), temperature of food and quality of service vary substantially enough that it as affected what started as a 5 out of 5 relationship and dining experience. It makes me sad as I want to love it as I had the first time, but I am finding that I cant. I will return again as I hope to have my 3-1/2 stars move back toward the 5. If my rating changes, I will definitely repost.

Mio Nonno is high quality Italian with a great intimate atmosphere. Being from Boston, it is hard to find good Italian in Dallas and this is the closest and best around. The owner, Noti, is kind, courteous, and will do whatever to make your meal exceptional and enjoyable. Our family has been going about 5x month since it opened. Noti, Matt, and all the waitstaff are like family greeting you at the door. I highly recommend it. Fridays and Saturdays are the busiest nights so its best to get there early, but any wait is well worth it.

A small and cozy place serving the best Italian food. Love the ambience. The waiter was very pleasant and helped nicely with our special requests for making few items vegetarian. Their dessert options, though less and specific to the desserts of the day, are very special and yummy. They do serve drinks, but not many options for non alcoholic beverages. Since its a very small place, there isnt much waiting area. So would be best to make reservations before visiting in large groups. Would definitely visit again and recommend to friends.
