Ive been to all of nashvilles ethiopian restaurants, this was the last one i hadnt tried, and was by far the best. The meat dishes at all of them are very good but this one had really flavorful veggies and sides, not to mention the fluffiest injera ive ever had including several of the really famous ones on U St. in washington dc. I dont know the name of it but there was a dish that reminds you of a panzella salad made of crumbled injera mixed with fresh tomatos onions and peppers...lets just say OMG. The tea, although not served in the traditional ethiopian style, flavor-wise blew the other area restaurants out of the water. Also has the most lively atmosphere maybe because A. They do have a bar with apparent regulars, even a pool table (never saw that one coming) and B. Have music playing overhead. I didnt get to see live music but it looks like they had a small stage, so will definately go back to try to check that out. This is a great starting point if you feel like something more adventerous but not sure about it. Everything is very recognizeable to any ole southern boy--ground beef, steak, chicken, cabbage, green beans, carrots and lentils, even the injera is not such a stretch from a jonny-cake either, so dont be afraid to try it. You might just get hooked!

If you like Ethiopian food or want to try it for the first time, go to Mesob! The staff is super-friendly and accommodating. We were guided through the menu and steered to items that both my wife and I -- and our kids -- could enjoy. We parents had been to Ethiopian before, but it was the first time for our kids, so we were hoping "it would take." And it did! The food was so yummy and the atmosphere friendly and inviting. We got the chicken sambussas (small fried pockets) for appetizers, and the kids fought over them! Then with the traditional injera bread, we got the lentil entree, the doro wat (chicken), the lamb, and the minced beef --- all spectacular!! We all left very satisfied. My advice (if you are budget-conscious like we are) would be to order one fewer entree than you were originally thinking, because the injera will add MUCH bulk to your meal. Dont expect to see any utensils, but then again, dont be afraid to ask for some. But the cultural experience of eating fork-less can be a great time!

I like to try new things so when I saw this 4.3 rated restaurant (at least at the time) I thought great! So the group I was in went there and to give them credit the food was good. I ordered hot Ethiopian style tea... I received Lipton bags with some hot water and a cup. My friend ordered a beer and after going through the ones they didnt have, finally got a Bud light. It was 2 months past the expiration date... The restaurant was dirty and the waitress wasnt very friendly. At the end when we were going to pay we were given our checks inside these woven things to hold them. A baby roach crawled off my friends and I thought "eww gross" then 2 more crawled off mine... All in all I dont know how this place could get more than 2 stars much less 4.3

Went there with my girlfriend and highly enjoyed it. Ive never had Ethiopian food before so I cant really compare it to a previous experience. Ive had some local cuisine while in Egypt and this was comparable. I ordered the fried fish which was unique in my experience, rather than a filet you got the whole gutted fish, head and tail (dont let that gross you out, theres plenty more to the menu). Authentic in my understanding with the shared plate and no utensils and the hot tea is provided with what appeared to be cinnamon water. Almost seemed like a private environment, there seemed to be the owners family at one table when we arrived and there were a few couples who arrived before we departed. I would definitely consider coming back.

Waited 45 minutes food that never came out. There were only two other people in the restaurant. They also received their food about 10 minutes after sitting down. When I went to pay for our water, I asked for the reason we never received our food. We were told "the chicken causes an issue." The problem is....we ordered vegetarian dishes not chicken! I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. No greeting when you enter, you could only order select items on the menu, and service here is no service at all

This place has great service and awesome AUTHENTIC Ethiopian food; The most authentic in Nashville .( I lived in Ethiopia 4 years) Most of the food you will not be eating with utensils but that is just how Ethiopian food is, and it tastes amazing. If you have never had Ethiopian food get ready to be amazed with the sponge bread and the different meat; dont be scared to try new things and check this place out you wont be disappointed.

Our experience at Mesob was wonderful. The restaurant is warm and inviting. Our server, Sabla, was kind and hospitable. Throughout the night, several people came to the table several times each, to ensure that we had everything we needed, and that the food was good. And indeed--the food was GOOD. There was more than enough, it was well priced, flavorful and overall delicious. We are already planning to return.

Please update Google on your hours. I drove 49 min in traffic just to support an African owned restaurant and I get there 15 minutes after the listed opening time of 10 am and no one is there. Unprofessional. No answering machine that states real hours of operation.

I do not understand how this place is open. The bathrooms are disgusting. The food is greasy and not at all authentic. Even cockroaches came in the receipt, after eating there, I had to take herbal medicine to cleaning my stomach ..

Ive never had Ethiopian before, and this place was amazing. We split a vegetarian sampler and the meat sampler. They are open normal business hours, despite other sites saying otherwise.

My favorites are curried goat and oxtail. Island Vibes offers a wide selection of caribbean style meals. Friendly staff who regularly seek the opinion of customers.

I never ever eaten the worst food like this place. It is not ethiopian food. I dont recommend any body ,who love ethiopian food, to go to this place.
