Awful. Went here last night. First, its $30 for 2 people. OK. paid it and hoped Id get my moneys worth. No such chance. The food had been sitting out a long time, at least what food was left. This was 6 p.m., so Id expect them to have food out, but no. What food was out was messy. The desert bar looked like kids had put their hands in it. I went to the bar to get some carved beef, except the guy was too busy having a conversation with his co-worker. I waited, and waited, and waited. Finally, I just picked up the damn knife to cut my own meat. He finally came over and told me I didnt have the authority to do that. OK, got my meat, and whatever veggies I could scramble up. Our waitress came by earlier and said shed get me a drink refill. Wait, wait, wait. I thought I saw her over yonder chatting with her co-worker. Wait, wait, wait. Again, I just got up and got my own damn drink. Well, we left and I thought I had put that experience behind me, but no. A mile down the road I learned that Golden Corral was not done with me. Sick for 30 minutes on the toilet. Thank the Lord we found a toilet in time. Avoid this place!!!

My coworker and I decided to treat ourselves to this establishment for lunch today as a Christmas treat to ourselves. All was well until I swiped my debit card and it only took half of the bill then would constantly decline. Thinking I went over my budget when buying Christmas gifts I quickly checked my bank account to find I still had over 100$ and even xfered 20$ more from my savings in case of any holds. Needless to say my card still did not work. My coworker then offered to pay for me using his card and it also was declined. The manager then told us it was our card processing companys fault not theres but what did not make sense to me is that we have separate banks and two different type of cards yet they both did not work. The manager did nothing to help us and didnt even have the courtesy to try a different register. We went to the McDonalds and guess what, both our cards worked. Golden corrall has lost my business simply because of the failure to realise that there own machine was the problem not our wallets

Their lunch beats Ryans hands down. Cheaper, larger, and less of that signature buffet taste. Their dinner is almost the same with the removal of mini burgers and fries and the addition of sliced meats. The miss portion of this review is their breakfast weekend buffet. Sign shows waffles, well this morning, no waffles. To me that narrows the search for where to go for breakfast down to GCs make your own omelet vs. Shoneys country fried steak and apple fritters on the bar. To me, Shoneys wins. (Also, I am a big tipper. I wouldnt want to work food service, so I appreciate the people who do. But at the weekend breakfast bar, your drinks, plates, silverware, and food are on the bar. A waitress came by to see if I found everything okay. If Golden Corral wanted to take the waitress out of the equation by putting the drinks on the bar, why was she still there?)

The waitresses are white, mostly older country-ladies and very nice. But behind the counters? Oh man. Youd think this was a Mexican restaurant. The place is full of Mexicans and indian looking people, many of whom dont speak English and dont look especially clean. Food quality is not very good and most dishes taste awful.. I dont think the help knows how cook American food. Like . . . I dont think they have meat loaf in mexico, do they? So if you dont mind these types of people cooking and touching your food, OK . . . but you just never know what diseases they bring when they cross the border. Im staying away until the manager starts hiring a better quality of help. Maybe if they paid better theyd get more white folks to work there who know how to cook American food!

My family had switch to Golden Corral back when Ryans was still around and the reason was they had more choices and hot food. That was at least 6 years ago. I use to take my family every week but as their price for the buffet went up and their quality went down, I started finding other place to eat for the same price. I have told the manager that been there as long as I have been going there about cold food out of product but he did nothing so I just move on. I just dont understand this place was great to me but I guess after the remodel it was never the same. To the manager of the store....bring your quality standards back up and make sure you keep the items hot and full. I would say the time I am there is about 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour

The advertisement stated all you can eat prime rib starting at 6:00 PM. At 6:30 PM we were told it would be at least another hour before it would be ready. This means one of two things, lousy management or a great big rip off. Who eats supper at 8:00 PM? Us seniors do not. How many folks showed up for prime rib and settled for something else because they were hungry and had already paid for their meal. The soft serve ice cream was a joke. A hungry cat would not have eaten whatever that was coming from the machine! Maybe if the Manager I saw chewing out the help in front of the guest paid more attention to the entrees there would have been some prime rib on time. I will not be back.

The service was greatalso the food was fair, the sweet potatos sure have had some spices to them as they was flat. Chicken was way to saltly. My son gets upset everytime we go to Golden Corral. to eat as he has his mind on geting chicken legs for his meat and seems like they dont make them anymore, could we ask why not? He settle for ham and said it was good but he would like to had chicken legs. The waitress was very nice young lady (Amanda) done an awesome job,Would we go back yes if back in johnson city. let them go to the Golden Corral. in Bristol Va. and show them how to have Clean restaurant.

My wife has been in the hospital for 3 days now. She called and asked if she could get a to go order of bread pudding. I arrived with full intentions of paying. The manager Chris was expecting me. He asked me with sincere concern about my wife. He smiled and looked me in the eye and said the bread pudding on him. I was blown away. Small gestures like this are what really sets a business apart. Something so simple and kind is worth more in advertising than a tv commercial as i will tell everyone how awesome and caring Chris was. Thank you

Stuff was past fresh. Got there a little early. Saw a gloved employee shake hands with a customer but not reglove. Manager mostly hung out in his office instead of being on top of things. Seemed overwhelmed in the position. Staff was generally friendly overall. Not at all in the same league with the facility in Loveland Colorado which may be the best and best managed facility in the chain. Management atvthe local and regional level need to be ensuring quality and proper training at all times.
