DO THIS: On Sundays SLEEP IN (or get up and go to early church service, whichever applies to you), head out to Palmetto Bay Sunrise Café at a time that will put you there between 12:30pm and 1:30pm (to avoid the die hard morning breakfast crowd/regulars), depending on weather SIT OUTSIDE, order the Incredible Edible w/ a Crab Cake (Absolutely amazing Food Network quality Crab Cake), TAKE YOUR TIME to enjoy the hole in the wall/well kept secret atmosphere as well as the food, once youre finished with breakfast and everything head over to Pirates Cove Mini Golf which you have to pass to get to and from the restaurant, TAKE YOUR TIME playing the holes and enjoying the heightened quality of this places putt putt offerings (while in so doing work off your breakfast/brunch/lunch lol), and then head back home for an afternoon nap. May seem like, "Really??", but I promise you its great for you and your friends/family!! We do it EVERY single weekend coming from over an hour away and its now referred to as "Sunday Funday" in that it helps us decompress from/for the week while at the same time brings a smile to everyone involved face :) :)

We asked one of the locals where to eat and they recommended this. Didnt have to wait for a table, but felt VERY cramped sitting on the porch with the waitresses rushing through the narrow aisle way. And we were on display as the people sharing the window were pointing and commenting on our selection of food. My friend ordered the special which was an Eggs Benedict stacked on top of a crab cake, green tomato and English muffin. After realizing that they were probably best known for their Eggs Benedicts, I ordered one with ham. We both really enjoyed our meals (and got thumbs up from the gallery inside). The poached eggs were so light and fluffy. Good experience, easy parking, a little expensive. Liked seeing the well behaved furry children (dogs) with their parents. Didnt like being on display and having a back view of the waitresses as they bussed and took the order from the table next to us.

Stopped here on our way out of a family vacation on HHI. Seated rather fast, which was surprising as the place looked swamped. From then on it was downhill though. Food forgotten, drinks not refilled, it seemed to take the entire staff to service us because our server almost never came beck. My over medium egg whites were wet in the middle and my mother-in-laws scrambled eggs came out in liquid as well. She sent them back to be cooked more and apparently should have ordered them as "scrambled dry" as instructed by one of the bussers (note: not our server). Eggs definitely seem to run rare here. Toast was forgotten, and when requested, was brought out burnt. Even on the way out, the only restrooms are external and were absolutely disgusting. Dont have too many good things to say about this place. All in all, quite a disappointing experience.

We arrived 1 hours before it closed on Sunday and were seated quickly although it was nearly full. The only positive from the experience is that the breakfast meals we ordered were all quite good. The downside is that the table was not clean and most importantly we were abandoned by our server and so we had to abandon all of our requests. The server was absent for the entire meal and then reappeared only to sit down in a different room with other employees. In the end we had to track down someone else to to get the bill and leave.

What a wonderful way to start mothers day in Hilton Head. Absolutely the best service I believe I have ever been given, Each and every server that past asked if we wanted refills and or asked if they could help us. It was awesome, The Crab cake benedict was a signature of perfection, the omelets are just wonderful. This will forever be my most favorite of all breakfast places on the island. What else could you ask for. Just an amazing place to start your day.

We ate here for our first breakfast on our honeymoon and sat on the porch outside. The prices are very reasonable and the food is excellent. Everything was cooked just right and everything was really fresh. We had scrambled eggs, French toast, bacon, English muffin with peanut butter, and fresh fruit. My wife really liked the coffee and said it wasnt too bitter. Great service and fresh ingredients made this an excellent choice! Check it out.

What a fantastic place to eat! Delicious food combined with friendly service. I had a delicious blueberry cream cheese stuffed French toast covered with raspberry sauce. I also had the bacon which was prepared perfectly. My friend Peter who was in from Manchester, England for my wedding had a delicious apple rum pancake as big as his head, and he loved it! Ill definitely be back, and Ill bring friends. :)

It was crowded, but the wait was not too bad. The glitch in the wait was that they seated another party for our name. Be sure to wait near the host area to make sure you are not passed by. The food is really just typical of any good diner, but there was not a standout for any of the food that was ordered. The service was good. Both the kitchen and wait staff are setup to handle large crowds.

Asked to be seated inside....they stuck us in a corner outside. Something from the beam dripped into the plates. Asked for eggs over easy...they came to the table still in a liquid form. Asked that they be fully cooked...got the plate back with hair in the food. You could read the newspaper thru the questionable "country ham". One of the most disgusting places Ive ever eaten.

This place probably had the best service we have EVER had in any given restaurant. And the food was delicious. Were anxious to try more dishes. The only comment is that we would love to see the railing, right up against our table, power washed. It was pretty dirty with cobwebs- not so appetizing. Otherwise, the food and service and the atmosphere were just wonderful.

I love the place where the locals eat. People called by name, a swarm of staff each answering the needs of every table, you didnt have 1 server, you had all of them. The food is above and beyond delicious. Special corned beef hash, crab cake bene, spicy bloody mary. Wowzers. Very well executed on every level. This place is just what you want when youre an out of towner.

If youre into large breakfasts, this could be the place for you. Its reputation for great breakfasts preceded our visit. We found it a bit expensive for the food, but the staff was great, attentive and offered southern familiarity. As we are not huge breakfast eaters, this was not our favorites spot, and we found the food OK, but not remarkable.

For all of the many years we have been vacationing on Hilton Head Island and the myriad of restaurants we have visited, Sunrise Cafe is a MUST GO TO every time!! Friendly service, a true southern hospitality atmosphere and excellent food awaits every customer. The Eggs Benedict are amazing and my all time favorite!
