Ive been coming to Hilton Head for about 15 years, Every year Ive parked my car outside of this place once a day for my week in HHI. There was nothing to make me go in. Then this year while browsing the advertising they leave in the Condo. I saw the add for the Frosty Frog and there frozen Daqs. I dont drink but in the corner of the add was mention of the Black Angus Burgers. I do like to eat. The family was up early and making too much noise, by 11:30 I was ready to run and hide. I drove down the block to Coligny Plaza, got my usual parking spot in front of the Frosty Frog and marched inside. It was the perfect hide away, reminded me of the early Florida Keys. Just your average dive, a bar with stools, some bar high tables, and at 11:30 a bunch of locals who without saying much made me feel welcomed. Everyone made small comments about the ESPN broadcasts, The Goose made the Hall of Fame. What people come here for is the frozen drinks. they had nine machines in view, eight were churnning away with everything from Pina Colada and Banana blast to Startups, and Flamingo something or other. I was very interested in listening and watching as customers would come in and ask for there own special blends. The friendly bartender quickly drew the proportions from each machine and with a quick blast from the mixer would hand the frozen libation to the patron. The reaction was always the same, a slow long slurp and then a verbal AHHH, Everyone who ordered a frozen drink looked happy and content after the first few sips. This was the first place I ever saw that offered samples of the frozen drinks. Patrons would come in, and request a taste, and the bartender would draw them a shots worth. Some people would taste a few before deciding on one or a blend. I wish I got the bartenders name, because he worked hard at making sure everyone was happy. I ordered my unsweet tea, and a cheese burger. It was early so it took a little bit to arrive, I didnt care, I was trying to stay away from the carnage in the condo. When my burger arrived in the standard basket with some fries. It looked picture perfect, The burger had that perfect brown crust, but you could still see the patty was moist. Lettuce cool and crisp, slice of fresh tomato, was sweet and you could tell it was just picked. The seseme seed bun was fresh, with just the right amount of requested Mayo. Mayby it was the time or the place, but this buger was fantastic. Large, and tasty, with that perfect outer sear, and moist and perfectly done legal temp. I am not ashamed to say I was sad when I took the last bite. Oh the fries were shoestring fries, OK nothing to right home about. By the time I was done, the lunch crowd started to poor in. This place is popular but it doesnt get over crowded. I want to make sure the Frosty Frog gets just enough buisness to stay in buisness, but dont tell too many people, this is the kind of place you want to save for yourself.

(This is my first negative review ever.) The hostesses tonight at frosty frog were indignant towards customers. Upon arrival neither of the two female hostesses acknowledged us despite our greeting them. We came at 915, so seats were readily available; however, we literally had to wait for both hostesses to finish a conversation with an employee they were both flirting with. Finally the blond hostess made eye contact and asked us to hold on (No hello) so she could check her phone. Just as we were getting ready to leave, she acknowledged us and showed us to our seat while acting frustrated with us for interrupting her social time. Furthermore, she didnt let our server know we were seated in his section causing a 20 minute wait before we were even asked for our drink order. (I had to find a server and ask that we be served.) When we finally placed an order the kitchen mistakenly botched our meals (no bacon, wrong cheese... all small things) yet we were still charged for the additional items we requested. Our server was amazing and did a phenomenal job despite not being supported by his staff. The food gets 4 stars, as it was not prepared the way I asked and paid for, but still scored well on plate size presentation and taste. While the food is good, the first impression a left a really poor taste in our mouths.

My first time having frog legs. I try and make it a point whenever I go out of town to try something new; this was the first place I had been to that actually served frogs legs, and they were offered as an appetizer, like hot-wings. I grew up and still live in the south, so I know about frog legs, Ive just never had them before. They were okay, same texture as chicken, but not really any actual flavor to speak of, and the legs were connected in pairs, so it was hard to overcome the idea of eating a frog. The buffalo sauce they were tossed in was quite good though, smelling very spicy but mild to the taste. We had a pizza for the meal, and it was done well. The 16 inch pizza is reasonably priced and is worth the cost. The big seller for this place is the frozen drinks though. Made with 190 proof grain alcohol, this is the place to go if you want a good time. I didnt have one since it was lunch time and I dont like staggering around during the day-time, but there were plenty of others drinking, and they all seemed more than satisfied.

Went to this bar and when the bill came it was all on one tab. The waitress said if we wanted to split it up just to write what cards we wanted to charge what to. So we did and then she came back to tell us she couldnt charge multiple tabs because we didnt tell her before we received the checks. Well the main problem is we were not asked if we wanted multiple checks before it was brought to us, so that was HER fault!! At that point we asked to speak with the manager and so some girl came out and talked to us. Then a girl in our party went in to speak with someone else about how we were treated and some guy came out and told us that "if we didnt get our friend out of the bar, we were going to get our a$$ beat." So basically we were threatened with violence for wanting to have our bills separate. Ultimately, definitely do NOT suggest going to this place!!

Been here many times over the years & it was always decent..not so today, the hostess who tried to seat us at a table I told her I would prefer to not sit at & I went to an open table in less than a 3/4 restaurant & she got soo huffy about it that she walked over & literally lifted up her arms & slammed our menus & silverware on the table. I immediately picked it up and handed it back to the manager as he was walking in to see what happened. I told him we come down every year & eat there at least 2/3 times each visit & I would not put up with that kind of crappy attitude. I heard him repeat it to the hostess and then she and several other hostesses stood there laughing. Needless to say, we will not be back as they are clearly not concerned with loosing long-time loyal customers.
