If you want to walk out wondering if you ate something that fell on the floor or if you will visit an E.R. from food poisoning, check this place out. Its filthy. As soon as you open the doors to be greeted by someone who talks too much, you know that you need to wash your own silverware or will be eating with a spoon with dried food on it. I visited twice. The first time was bad, but gave it another chance thinking it was busy the 1st time and maybe the 2nd time would be better. The 2nd time, I was afraid to even eat. I figured my drink was safe coming from a fountain. My husband watched the cooks because you can see the area and he just got disgusted. They were wiping their brows with their hands and kept on cooking. If you walk past the area where waitresses hang out and fill items to get the bathrooms, you might barf. It smells like old, greasy food that has been there for ages. I can bet money that roaches are all over that area at night or when no one is around. We had the same waitress each time and she looked like she had a rough night. We gave her the benefit of the doubt since they do have a hard job and she was pretty good. She didnt forget things. Its the restaurant that is disgusting. Its the cleanliness of the tables, staff, hostess, plates, silverware that I dipped in my water to wash because asking for an extra was too much trouble, the cooks wiping their brows and wiping whatever else and you can see them than will prevent me from EVER going there again. I have a toddler and 9 year old. One waitress who wasnt even our waitress kept telling me how my children didnt have jackets and the restaurant was freezing. Ok, lady, I get it. They dont look like they are freezing. I know you must have grandkids and are just nosy as heck in general, but we are trying to enjoy a disgusting meal because we are famished and I am about 2 minutes away from throwing my greasy pancakes at ya. The fact that they are off I-95 leaves travelers with a poor taste in their mouth for Florence. If you want breakfast, go to Cracker Barrel, which is another sanitation story, but at least you might not question if you are going to go home to throw up. The owners and manager of IHOP in Florence, SC should be ashamed to open their doors. The worst part - You walk out smelling like the place and thats not a problem if you dont mind smelling like week-old grease and fried shrimp or work there all day. You just need to go back to your hotel and take another shower. Thanks IHOP, youre gross!

When I walked in I was told I couldnt use my eGift Card (which I won from work). Was seated at our booth. When the waitress came she was "nice and friendly". After ordering and receiving our food I began to drink my water with lemon. After picking up my glass I realized there was 2 strips of paper in my cup that was rising to the top. So I checked the straw paper, (I rip the straw paper, but leave the top just in case I have to get up while waiting), to see if it was that...it wasnt. At that time I hear a lady telling her husband that the coffee cup she received had red lipstick around the rim of the cup....she didnt have on lipstick or makeup for that matter. I told the manager about it and he said, "You shouldve mentioned it to the waitress". Management manages things, so I went to the manager. When paying for my food, I let the waitress a tip...while going to the car my son realized he left his phone on the table. He went back to get it and the "nice and friendly" waitress catches an attitude with him telling him, "you cant have your phone because your mama didnt pay". He told her that I did pay so he proceeds to ask her for his phone, she tells him no not until Ive paid. So I drove to the front to see what was going on, and she just places the phone in his hand. I didnt realize what was going on then. Im extremely pissed and will be calling corporate. The last time I visited this place was back in December with my fiancée. We wanted pancakes at night, was told they were out of pankcakes. My fiancée orders a cheeseburger and fries and I ordered chicken strips with fries....they were out of fries and gave me chicken patties as chicken tenders. Like I really wasnt going to notice. This business need to be on Undercover Boss to see how nasty, inattentive, and careless they are. Corporate really needs to shut this place down until they get themselves together.

Every time we eat here, its a gamble. Half of the time, it is delicious. Half of the time, it is absolutely horrible. Luckily when its delicious, its worth the gamble to go back. However, when we went today they were out of bacon. I ordered the split decision and let the waitress know I was allergic to the sausage they serve. My plate came out with the french toast covered in sausage so we had to send it back. I never received my eggs. My partners eggs were cold and rubbery, so he didnt even get to eat them. The only reason we still go back is because of Mrs. Laura. Once shes gone we probably wont eat there again. We eat at IHOP at least four nights a week, but we wont be going back for a while. It just isnt worth the gamble anymore. We had to end up going to Zaxbys to get full, after spending $30 for our meal at IHOP.

This place is DIRTY! Menus where very very sticky, chairs/booths are torn, had food residue & sticky, Dirt stains on the booths & chairs (like a sutty film) Had to ask my waitress to refill my tea several times while we waited for our food because she was at a table counting her tip money. Food quality was O.K.. How can DHEC give this place an "A" rating as dirty as this place is. To the owner(s) & management- clean this place & focus on your customer service. To the employees - learn to be more attentive towards the customers & their needs. Shouldnt have to ask you to feel my tea up, bring me napkins, silverware, or ask 2-3 times for condiments. Count your money in private, not on the clock. One more thing, try & look presentable, & clean.

Avoid this place, especially during late night hours. After the Darlington Race we wanted a place to relax before we headed to the hotel. Red flag was people already complaining right when we walked in the door. It took 17 minutes for coffee, we were given plastic forks to eat with, waitress said it was because they did not have anything clean. WHAT? No clean utienciles? We then watched the bus boy "clean" tables with a obviously filthy rag..he even placed it on the floor when reaching underneath a table to pick up a piece of paper, then proceeded to wipe tables. I it my food to go when it FINALLY arrived. AVOID THIS PLACE!

The hostess was super nice with a beautiful smile and made us feel very welcome. Our waitress Ebony was equally as welcoming if not more so. She brought us water immediately and good coffee so fast it seemed to appear out of nowhere. I looked down at the menu for literally a few seconds and the coffee was there when I looked up. We both ordered bacon eggs hash browns a d pancakes. Everything was cooked perfectly, served hot, and tasted great. The pancakes are so fluffy and light I could have had seconds if I had time. We will make this our breakfast spot whenever were in the area.
