The unique combination of a sandwich shop with a laundromat and all that implies. If you dont mind smelling other peoples laundry fumes while you eat then this is the place for you.....unless you dont like cheese and butter. Then this still may not be the place for you. Slightly sloppy, but delicious grilled sandwiches made in the tradition of George Formans pannini grill along with a less than stellar but more expensive than reasonable canned crab salad surprise. Come for the cheesy sandwiches and friendly customer service, stay for the sweat socks, detergent, and greasy, greasy food. I like it, but in small doses. Try the coffee! But dont go out of your way for it. Edit: I had to give an extra star for their awesome curry chicken salad and Greek sandwich! Damn guys, make more of these "not grilled cheese" sandwiches!

This is a funny hole-in-the-wall place that seems like it was made for college students (the backside of the store is a laundromat). The food is excellent--I recommend the greek or the zucchini melt. The grilled cheese is a classic, but a little too greasy for me. Also, you havent lived until youve tasted the basil limeade. It is refreshing and addicting. The food comes out quickly, is decently priced, and always good. The staff are friendly and some even know me by name--a nice feeling when you buy food from a small place every week or two.

This quickly became my favorite Charleston spot the first time I ate there. The roasted chicken sandwich is by far my favorite. The staff is always great and friendly. Yes it may be in a laundromat, but dont let that scare you off, it definitely adds to the character. To drink, the basil lemonade is my choice, and the Nutella and Roasted Marshmallow frozen custard is a must.

A cool place to pretend youre still in college. Actually, this place seems to be strictly run by college kids, for college kids. Soup seemed institutional, reminded me of a ski lodge. Despite fancy title on the blackboard, and that Charleston is full of cafes serving amazing soups. PS I took a look and the washers take a reasonable number of quarters. Good deal.

I am so in love with this little place. Its incredibly unique (inside a laundromat), and it is delicious. I highly recommend the Adult Grilled Cheese. It is perfect for a cold and/or rainy day. This is one of the little spots that is easy to miss as a visitor in Charleston, but if you are looking for a little off the beaten tourist trail lunch, this place is great!

I went to Persimmon Cafe for the first time today and had an amazing experience! Not only was the food absolutely delicious, the staff was so friendly and it was just above and beyond great customer service all around. They even sang me happy birthday when my friend told them it was my birthday! I would highly recommend this charming spot to anyone!

After a tough day at the hospital, these folks were cheerful to talk to and order from even at the end of their day. They delivered to the front door of Ashley River Tower as well. The food was amazing and we really needed a treat at that point. I do have to recommend the cookies but the sandwiches were all wonderful and we each got a different one.

I dont know what to say! The restaurant itself is charming, the people that work there are super nice, and the food is delicious. The custards are really good! I saw noticed someone got a custard with marshmallows and they blowtorched the marshmallows! I love it. Definitely will go back and I recommend it.

We stumbled upon this gem, in the front of a functioning laundromat, and were pleasantly surprised how delicious the food was! The tomato soup was a little too spicy, but the potato soup was perfect. Sandwiches are amazing. Off the tourist-beaten path, felt like we were among the locals. Highly recommend!

This place floored me. Located in a laundromat, be prepared to smell the detergent and be exposed to the humidity. The food makes it totally worth facing the elements, even in the summer. I had the Asparagus sandwich with Brie and fig, served on toast. It was incredible!

I treat myself for lunch here at least once a month. Curry chicken salad and rosemary lemon tea. Two of my favorites. Great staff, fast service, discount for MUSC employees. Who would think a restaurant in a laundromat. Dont knock it till you tried it. Great place.

Amazing and affordable cafe located at a counter inside a local laundrymat. Delicious, fresh food including paninis and salads. Try the custard - the nutella marshmallow is toasted right in front of you! Went twice in a three day trip and didnt regret it.

Liked the sandwich. The owner values your opinion on their food! I didnt like the Custard and made a complaint, and unexpectantly got a full refund! He said they value the customers input and will keep improving their food!

Love this place so much. The staff is great and the food is too. The iced coffee is the best in town. Third Thursday date night is 2 sandwiches 2 sides 2 drinks and a custard for 20 bucks - A STEAL.

The sandwiches are amazing. The only problem is it takes about 35-40 minutes to get a sandwich. I highly suggest calling and ordering ahead.

Great sandwiches and soup. Part of a laundromat so nothing fancy but great and interesting options.
