My wife and I discovered this restaurant while we were staying in Yemassee, SC. The Old Bull Tavern in Beaufort, SC, with its bistro atmosphere is unassuming and very very popular. A reservation is highly recommended. We ended up eating there 3 times during the one month we were in the area. Their must try dish is the: Lamb Shank Braised with Red Wine, Tomato and Olives. Cooked to perfection, almost falling off the bone... I ended up liking this dish so much, I ordered everytime we visited! If you like wine and tomato sauce, go for this dish. Its Divine!

Awesome place for a drink. The food is amazing and service excellent. You need reservations to eat there. You can visit the bar after 10ish when they stop serving food and grab a drink from the bar. They always have two or three bartenders and you normally dont wait long for service. My take on the theme is an old speak easy from the prohibition era. They also have a wood fired pizza oven for fresh Italian pizza. There are no TVs so dont go there to watch the game.

The chef here is the most creative in Beaufort and so is whomever comes up with their drinks. This is the hippest spot to eat in the city. Expect a wait, and make reservations. The pizzas are among the best Ive ever had, especially the Piedmont. A great spot for date nights, anniversaries, or any special occasion, or just a night out with great food and drinks.

I was extremely happy with our choice for dinner! I had the Salmon and my husband had the lamb shank and my girlfriend had the duck. I tasted all three dishes and we all agreed that we would order them again the next night. Great food, great atmosphere and cocktails too! Would definitely come back in the future!

Nice relaxed atmosphere and wonderful food. When we arrived at the front door we were not sure we wanted to go in. The front door glass was dirty as were the windows but we were very pleasantly surprised when we entered. Wait staff was great and the food could not have been better. Thank you for a great experience.

Eclectic place from the decor to the menu. Very creative Menu items and all were pretty tasty, just could of have a little more depth to the dishes, especially the Bolognese and the chicken and sausage dish. All the apps, pork chop and Bistro Steak were excellent. Service was outstanding, good job Gabrielle.

I thought the other reviews were too good. But guess what. This place is great !! Fantastic service and tasty entrees at a good price. They handled out big party and we are coming back !! Everyone liked their meal. Also liked their beer and wine selection.

I went here for an evening drink date and we ended up ordering a few appetizers because they looked so good. It was a little crowded, but for good reason. The wasabi deviled eggs were amazing. Well definitely be back next time were in Beaufort.

Absolutely the best burger in town, bar none! They use locally sourced pasture raised beef from Mibek Farms-no hormones or antibiotics used, and the resultant burger was off the charts. I recommend it with Gorgonzola cheese.
