Visiting from out of town and a high school friend wanted to take me to a local place he had heard many good things about. It was a bit of a wait, but was expected due to it being so well reviewed by the locals. We grabbed a drink at the bar and paid while waiting for our table, once sat our sever came out to the padio to great us and grab our food orders since we had already gotten our drinks at the bar... and that was the last we seen of her till about 25-30min later as we were walking out. We were sitting with empty drinks for quite some time and the table next to us that was sat no less then 10 min after us had got there drinks, a second drink, and a fried appetizer while we sat there with no drinks and waiting on chips and salsa. I tried several times to get our servers attention and feel the last time I tried she seen me and was ignoring me, and if not she was not fit to be in customer service. This is my first google review but honestly never had such poor service. Very disappointed. However we did go to a place immediately after called " Poor judgment " and within 10 minutes of being there two managers and the bartender came over and made sure we knew the specials and ready to take our orders... we were taken by surprise after the last place and wasnt expecting to be quizzed on what we wanted so quickly, but each one was super nice and more then happy to point out some of the favorites and was an extremely good experience with the staff and amazing food!

We had an amazing dinner here on Saturday night. We were with a group of 10 and the fish tacos were delicious, the lamb tacos were just as amazing! You have to try the avocado fries as well. We all had the cilantro jalapeno margaritas and they are really unique and tasty! I would highly recommend you try one. Unfortunately, I left my camera on the table at the end of the night and they closed not long after so I wasnt able to retrieve it. I went back at opening on Sunday and no camera. So disappointed as I know they sat no one at the table after us and I know exactly where I left it. I dont even care so much about the camera as I do about the memory card. When I went in to ask, no one really cared much to even bother to look around for me or give me the time of day! I did leave my name in case it should show up but not sure they would even bother to call. I am hoping I am wrong!

The drinks were excellent but the food was not Mexican. If your looking for Mexican restaurant dont come here. The first thing I ordered was chips &salsa with a side of guacamole. The salsa was not homemade it was store bought and the guacamole had pumpkin seeds with a few tomatoes and onions sprinkled on top. No cilantro or jalapeños were in the guacamole. So I still decided to give the place a try so I ordered enchiladas. That was the only thing that came on the plate no beans or rice or Pico de Gallo to go with the meal. The sauce they used for the enchiladas was the salsa. Sorry but I will not be going again maybe only for drinks.

My favorite spot in Newport... And Im conveniently within walking distance. For me its all about the taqueria options. Pork enchiladas are typically amazing, although I have encountered an "off night" before. Order the side guac instead of the main one, and then you also have room for avocado fries. Tres leches is a treat. Good choice of margaritas and tequilas. I grew up in Southern California; it goes without saying this is not "authentic" Mexican food, but its still excellent and with some interesting menu twists. Better than Diegos for sure. Also a cool historical house the restaurant is set up in.

My wife and I had the avocado fries with a chipotle mayo and the smoked shrimp queso as an appetizer which was excellent. We decided on the specials which were pan seared duck breast and monkfish. Both were very good and full of flavor. The blood orange margarita sounded more exotic than it tasted, but wasnt bad overall. They also have a cilantro and jalapeno margarita but I wasnt that adventurous, although I did try the cucumber one which was interesting. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in Newport, we were not disappointed.

Very good food, cool atmosphere, try the short rib enchiladas. High quality and reasonable. They will not split up checks, which is super frustrating when traveling on business. Our group in town for over a month cant even go here for this silly reason. Doesnt seem like great business decision but hey, it seems to be generally very busy so perhaps they hust dont need the business traveler.

I would go back. While Im not super inspired to write about specifics I remember a few things distinctly. It is crowded. Tables are jammed together to the point that a tipsy woman knocked over one of our water glasses with her purse. The margaritas were excellent as was the guacamole and soft tacos. Decently priced food. Crowded together, its noisy if busy.

The drinks, esp their jalapeno margarita, 5 stars! The food 4 stars The service 2 stars Although this was on Sunday brunch. And by the way the menu is fairly limited on Sunday to brunch items and basic tacos, Even though I hated the service, the drinks and food was so tasty that would come back and try out dinner here on a none brunch day.

Kind of surprised about the low ratings on this place. The meal I had was excellent! The food is relatively rich, but done well (avocado fries...awesome). Staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive. The atmosphere is pretty cool as well; has kind of a homey feel...its a renovated house so it kind of makes sense that it would.

Weve had both brunch and dinner, and of course...drinks. The staff has been incredibly accommodating and attentive. The food and drinks would be excellent in any setting. But this is particularly true in Newport where something funky like this can be hard to find. This will be our "go to" dining every time we visit Newport.

This place was a horrible experience. A large bug resembling a cockroach crawled across the dirty table and went between the seat cushions. There was a long piece of hair in my sisters food. In another family members plate of food was a long piece of plastic. I am totally disturbed from this place.

This place has a wonderful concise menu. They do about 30 dishes really well, without an everything-and-the-kitchen-sink menu. Sticky ribs are not to be missed! Margaritas are also great, coming in 4 or 5 variations. Call ahead on weekend nights because this place will be busy.

I had their "something" Benny special for brunch today. It was fantastic! One of my companions had food envy over it, when comparing to her choice of Huevos Rancheros. I would highly recommend this place based on my one experience. The other twos meals were good too!

This is the best restaurant in Newport!! The sticky ribs are to die for! The drinks are fabulous. We have never had a meal that we didnt like. The wait staff is excellent. The atmosphere is funky in a good way. Their brunch is superb.
