A trip to the Marina Cafe & Pub is so worth the drive over the Goat Island causeway. A bit of a hidden gem, but it has become a favorite spot to dine with friends & family. I went when they first opened & the food was delicious but you could tell the staff was overwhelmed by the turnout. Since then I have returned many times & am pleased to say they got their kinks worked out since the opening. The staff is considerate & are great at anticipating the table's needs. A new enclosed deck allows you to enjoy the unique view of Newport harbor year round. We've tried everything from the raw bar, calamari, & citrus tuna salad (my favorite) The swordfish is a huge portion & has always been delicious. Friends rave about their fish & chips & beef tenderloin. We've also gone on a Thursday & they had live jazz ( turned out to be much cooler than expected) But perhaps by favorite Marina Cafe experience is bellying up to the beautiful boat- like bar & enjoying speciality drinks from their creative cocktail menu. If you're tired of the same old Newport restaurants definitely give the Marina Cafe & Pub a try!

This past fall while vacationing on goat island I came across a delightful place known as Marina Pub and cafe...my spouse and I sat at the bar and ordered two drinks, "sunken treasure" and I had my usual captain and coke. we enjoyed our drinks for a short time while watching the expensive yachts and sailboats come and go...it was very romantic. The fried calamari was crispy and delicious with a enlightening bite of chili peppers, the oysters tasted like they were just taken from the water, I especially loved there mignonette...it was pefectly balanced..we followed that with the citrus tuna and my favorite wine...oyster bay!! was so happy to see that on the menu, we even came back the day before we went home and had a few glasses again taking in the view. The prices were affordable...the service was friendly and prompt..as was the food and drinks. For such a money eating city by the sea this place felt like our hometown bar and we will gladly be making it our main place to visit while in newport!!!

My friends and I went to The Marina Cafe for its re-opening night on Friday. We were sat inside next to a roaring pellet stove and were very comfortable and still had a great view of the harbor. I had little necks on the half shell as an app. They were so fresh...( I will be back on Mondays when they have $1.00 little necks and oysters!) My entree was Atlantic Cod....I will definitely order that again on my next visit. I wanted to taste the Tequila Shrimp but no one was willing to share! Great service and wonderful atmosphere. Awesome place to view Newport Harbor from the "other side". Take a water taxi and complete the experience.

If you want to escape that normal feeling of Newport and believe me its a great feeling but if you want a new perspective just hop on over to this place. Its chill. Decent food. Great salmon sammy. Outdoor seating along the harbor that very few people frequent. However the night sky illuminates sail and motorboats. All glistens in the water. The sunsets are gorgeous too because it is on the western side so you get more sun. Im not sure if theyre open in the winter but if they are definitely go over there in The afternoon for a late lunch or early dinner to be sure you get as much sun as you can!

On a cool late June.. we actually found parking for FREE in Newport ! The staff was polite, we only had drinks inside, but for whatever reason it was quite empty at 4:30 in the afternoon. Good local beer and decent wine collection. The important item: Incredible views, very reasonable drinks in a real glass (sorry Black Pearl) that are big, for just $5 - local brewed beer and wine $7. Ive paid much more at a crowded bar for domestic beer. You can watch the boats come and go as well as the wedding parties just across the street.

The Marina Pub on Goat Island reopened for the 2017 tourist season last Tuesday. I went in for lunch on Wednesday for their $10 fish & chips special. Still an excellent place to enjoy the best view of Newport Harbor! Al Fresco pub with full liquor license. Corey was my server and is one of the bar staff this season. Prices are still reasonable and the food was excellent, as usual. Great stuffie! Look forward to returning when the weather is warmer! Its also on one of the water taxi stops.

Stopped in while taking the boat taxi ride around the harbor. It was worth the stop. Tried the fish tacos and they were great. The swordfish was spiced to my liking. The best however were their French fries. I was stealing them from my wifes plate and I couldnt stop eating them. Cooked perfectly. View of the harbor was also great.

I will say the view is great even if you are eating in a parking lot. I actually brought guests here and ended up going out to dinner again later in the evening. The portions are so tiny I was embarrassed I took them there. The waitress was really bad too.

Patio tables have a great view. Service good and prices are right. Highly recommend both the fish tacos and the short rib mac & cheese! Every once in a while, they have a swordfish sandwich special. I highly recommend that you check it out!

I used to come here a lot as a military local. The last time I waited 15 minutes and I was never seated. It wasnt busy and I was ignored by any passing wait staff. No wonder they arent open in the winter, they only cater to tourists.
