Dont let the name fool you, Franklin Spa is a culinary treasure! Came here for brunch with SO and his fav foodie friend. We left full & happy and were pleasantly surprised at how affordable everything is (although our prices may have been skewed by living in NYC for so long!) Loves- Blueberry stuffed french toast. OMG YES, I nibbled some off foodie friends plate and snuck bites every time he turned his head. Delicious, creamy but not heavy, this was heaven on a plate Steak & eggs- kind of a staple for SO, he really enjoyed his rare steak. Meat was flavorful and sunny side up is easy to make. Smoothies- both the guys opted to create their own smoothies- thick, hearty & made right in front of us, this couldve been a liquid meal in of itself. Eh- I got the special of the day, the lobster omelette. Wasnt a bit fan of this, it was kind of bland and couldve used more chunks. After a weekend of seafood, this was the least impressive

My family and I had to wait over an hour after we ordered for our food to be brought out (Im not exaggerating; we were keeping track because we were becoming worried that the hour and a half of parking we paid for wouldnt be enough). The french toast was good, but the omelettes and homefries were incredibly bland. The food was not worth the wait and pretty underwhelming for a place that supposedly has such a great reputation. At the end of our meal the waitress brought us the wrong check. I will not be going to this restaurant again and would not recommend it.

Just had breakfast here with my husband. Had the lobster omelette, was not impressed at all. Omelette was pretty bland, it had too much spinach to the point where your teeth and mouth tasted like it was stained with spinach. There was just a tiny piece if brie cheese that was overpowered by the spinach. Was disappointed. My husband and I shared a parfait french toast with bananas on one and strawberries on the other. I think the yogurt parfait was not that great and the french toast could do some spices like cinnamon. Service was okay.

Best blueberry stuffed French toast. Id say that would be a staple at this place. I also had the biscuits and gravy and Id say Ive had better for a lower price. All and all though this place is great for authentic style home cooking. A must visit place in Newport, RI. Expect to pay some $$. Its worth it though for a nice breakfast/brunch. Be careful of the add ons. My dad was offered maple syrup for $2.95 up-charge. Are you serious!? Everything thats added on will cost you $$$.

really?? after seeing the line out the door, I was so surprised at the food. The huevos rancheros was literally a burrito. Omelet? super disappointing. the worst part was that the price was not in line with the quality of the food-- 25$ for breakfast for 2 (in the off season). The best part was the blueberry muffin (not homemade, but buttered and grilled nicely) and our server was really nice.

Very bad service. They made us stand outside so they could clean the table for us. Also the food isnt as great as people say it is. And 50 bucks for breakfast? Bad value too. The only good thing was the shakes and they were 6 dollars. And it was 4 bucks for some bacon? Thats a dollar a piece. I would not go there again.

Went to franklin spa with my family and I must say the food was awesome but the restaurant gets a rating of two because the waitress rolled her eyes walking away when my husband asked her for a high chair for my one year old daughter and the waitress seem to be annoyed she had to wait on us.

Portuguese Sailor breakfast sandwich new and tasty. Breakfast potatoes ok. Water lacked ice. Server quick in the serving, late in the checkout. Overall, Id come here again as the food is good for reasonable price, and the atomosphere is nice, with location useful.

Started going here over 15 years ago when I lived in Newport. Now every time I return for a visit I eat breakfast here. Its my favorite breakfast place in the USA - seriously. Wonderful food (hint: Maryland Crabcake Benedict and the fresh OJ).

Rude, inattentive waitress. Snarky attitude when she did engage. Must have changed cooks because this person does not understand how to season while cooking. Sounds like a fading star here due to degrading talent?

Service was friendly, food good and plenty of it for a reasonable price. My wife had the blueberry stuffed French toast and I had the crows nest (Irish Benedict). We will be back!

Great breakfast place, nothing fancy but good food in relaxed setting. When will US restaurants understand what their bathrooms say about the place???
