Pros: Great food, low prices, inventive specials Cons: Occasionally inconsistent service Were regulars to Josephs Two, and keep coming back because of the fantastic breakfast and lunch fare, combined with a very affordable price. The restaurant is homely inside, slightly cramped but still comfortable. Plenty of wood furnishings, the use of outdoor lighting indoors, and conservative decor make for a pleasant and relaxed environment. Parking in the front is tough, as there are only about 8 spots. But across the street is a free parking lot behind the Wendys and its never full, so as long as you dont mind waiting for the crosswalk you wont have trouble finding a spot. Dont try and park in McDonalds lot and go to Josephs! The jerks from the Golden Arches will have your car towed, even though their lot is never full. Restrooms are located behind the kitchen, and are maintained well enough to not be scary. There are some occasional hiccups in service, but normally we have a wonderful experience there. Frankly, it all depends on who your server is. Nearly all the complaints Ive heard about the service are all centered around one individual. We had that person actually become visibly upset at us when we said we had a party of 8 once, but then another time that same server recognized us and was friendly. Its true theyre not big fans of credit cards, but only if you try and use more than 2 of them for one table. Theyre a small business, not a chain, and part of how theyre going to keep costs down is by encouraging the use of cash. Since the bill is always small, this is not a problem anyway. However, I wish they would simply say "cash only" and skip the animosity towards people who try and use certain payment methods. Now on to the awesome: For a breakfast-centric restaurant, the food is exemplary. The portions are very generous, and the ingredients quality has never disappointed. Be sure to check the whiteboards for daily specials, because theyre usually worth checking out. Items like "The Berkshire Breakfast" (french toast with apple crisp topped over it with standard breakfast side options) make for mouth-watering Sunday treats, while "The Hungryman Breakfast" will top off even the most starving patron with a massive dose of excellent food, at a price that will surprise you with how low it is. As regulars, weve seen the occasional "batter-y" pancake or slightly over-crispy bacon, but those are very rare occurrences. Generally the cooking is top-notch and will not disappoint. I highly recommend the restaurant for an awesome local breakfast experience, and you can avoid the "Breakfast Nazis" (as the reviewer C.S. describes) just by using cash, and not trying to fit a huge party (8+) in during the rush times. Were regulars there for good reason!

This is _not_ a gourmet restaurant. This is American comfort food. If you go in knowing that, youll be just fine and will actually enjoy this place. My family came here after some trendy restaurant we wanted to try ended up having a long wait. No wait at Josephs. In fact, it was completely empty for dinner. Im vegetarian, but two people in our party had the prime rib and said it was a bit tough. Apparently, the potatoes are good, though. Definitely the bread is great! Its warm. Its soft and crunchy... not spongey, not too hard to chew through (the crust just crumbles in your mouth). They also serve breakfast any time. I had the toasted ravioli and two eggs (scrambled) with French fries instead of home fries. My meal was great! Tasty and fattening.

Food was very tasty (low-cal turkey hash & 2 eggs, and Belgian waffle & strawberries), and moderately priced (<$10 per dish). Service quick and nice, there was no wait for seating and we waited 5-7 minutes for the food. They have freshly squeezed o.j. which is a plus and a rare sight. The downside are the restrooms, to which the access is through the kitchen (really through the kitchen) and the managers office and some supply / refrigeration room. Id recommend coming here for traditional american diner food.

Well I just exited this place with a full belly and big smile! The food is awesome, and super tasty. They serve you a good amount of food and to a good price! I had a full breakfast with juice coffee and dessert and only paid $26! Thats incredible. The place has a warmth to it and it feels great. Servers are OK not bad but not amazing they were just okay :) they were not rude or anything but I would have love a bit more kindness! Other than that definitely recommend it and my self will be coming back a lot!

Great diner food and friendly staff, but very long wait especially on weekends around brunch time. We got there around 9:30am and there was a line out the door (looked to be about an hour wait at least). They have a good selection of breakfast foods with large portions. Personally, however, as good as the food is, its not worth the hour+ wait when theres plenty of other places in the area. I would recommend going there early or having a small party (2 people) to make sure you can get a table quicker.

Small family style restaurant with good breakfasts and ample portions. Chef came out a couple times on last visit to give people update on wait and check how their meals were. Speaking of the wait, if you come on a weekend morning or early afternoon expect to wait in line a while (they dont take reservations or keep a list of names to be seated). Theyre also so busy you wont get a lot of service but Ive never gone without a drink refill. Might not be the best choice for larger groups.

Went here for the first time this morning. Saw that it had good reviews so I went in expecting to at least like this place. Its a small mom/pop shop and lives up to the expectations of the reviews. Food was excellent, generous portions. Cant speak to the service since it was a monday morning after the breakfast crowd had come and gone and was pretty empty, but I have no complaints about the service it was great, just cant say how good would be when jammed is all...

Although I agree with everyone about the laughably outdated interior, I didnt come here for atmosphere, and I dont care to finance any remodel with higher prices either. I had breakfast, and it was excellent. Good prices, and good menu variety. If you want atmosphere, go somewhere else. If you want good food, come here. The only downside is the limited parking situation. Come during off hours and you can get around that.

For a first timer like me, I liked the restaurant. The Bostonian was very good. Coffee cups could be bigger. A very comfortable place. Parking is my only issue. There is a nearby Hanaford that you can park by, or one of the street meters. Its not too far. There are some parking places but if you get there at 8am, then theres no chance. I really wouldnt risk parking at McDonalds. All in all a great family place.

Awesome classic-style diner, with very good breakfast up and down the menu. Server wasnt the friendliest, but they were also very prompt and attentive. Very limited parking, by the way. There was a short wait during peak breakfast hours, but nothing too bad. Very few items more than $9. The best thing about Josephs is the amazing prices, considering the high quality of the dishes we had.
