Breakfast, lunch, dinner... They have it all. LilRhody certainly has its fair share of morning eateries, but so many of them offer up the same old affair. In fact, its disappointing how many of them do it with little effort or care. Sure, one could hit anyone of these nameless establishments & accomplish the prime objective of filling their belly, but whats the fun in that? If I am going to spend my hard earned money, I expect quality ingredients, great service, & flavor ta boot. On a recent Saturday AM jaunt, we figured wed give The Corner Cafe a try. Boy were we pleased! On a quick glance of the menu, I was amazed at some of the unique & crafty offerings that were available for breakfast, lunch, & dinner. This gave way to promising prospects for future eating endeavors, but on this occasion... breakfast it is. I ordered up the breakfast special which included an omelet filled with crabmeat, asparagus, & goat cheese, smothered in pesto & Monterey jack cheese shavings. Home fries & choice of toast were all included for the very reasonable price of $13.99. The omelet was light & fluffy with ample fixings to keep my palate entertained for the duration of the event. The home fries were hearty & my choice of Irish brown bread toast was a great addition to the already wonderful concoction. Note that some bread selection are a $0.75 up charge. My spouse settled on an omelet with shrimp, bacon, avocado, & cheese with similar aforementioned sides. We both took turns sampling for each other plates to get a better sense of The Corner Cafe has to offer & were very pleased with the outcome. All in all, we are glad we ventured out to try something new & have come to add The Corner Cafe to one of must return stops. Potential patrons should note that The Corner Cafe is quite small in a cozy & comfortable way. This also happens to be a busy stop on the weekends regardless the time of the year. When you combine those factors, you most certainly can expect a wait outdoors in the elements. Dont let that scare you as they have staged heat lamps for waiting patrons in the chiller months. The locals, regulars, & general returning clientele are not discourage, so neither should you be. Do yourself a favor & stop by & tell them Scotty sent ya.

Very nice eclectic corner spot for breakfast or lunch. Decor was very crafty/sheik without being junky. Seating is limited (10-12 tables Id say) so there may not be room during busy periods. It has a menu that reads like it could be featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives", very imaginative and unique. I mix of Portugese and Irish items work their way into many of the dishes. Been here twice so far, once eating breakfast items (served all day) and once lunch. I have to say that both my wife and I much prefer the breakfast items. Although the lunch sandwiches were creative (I had a burger topped with egg, gorgonzola, hollandaise) they did not strike the cord that the breakfast plates did. Looking at the other tables, about 80% had breakfast items for lunch if that tells you anything about what this place is known for. I intend to come to this place every time I make the trip to Newport and would have no second thoughts about bringing friends and family. The size may be small and the name misleading, but rest assured this really is a hidden jem.

We came cold and hungry to Corner Cafe during our first trip to Newport. They did not disappoint! The food is pretty good and the ambiance is also pretty decent, but the five stars is mostly for the value! You get soo much food for what you pay. I ordered a mushroom wrap with mashed potatoes and together they took up an entire large plate. Same goes with my boyfriends scrambled eggs and home fries. An entire large plate for ~$10! Once we were there we also realized that its BYOB - had we known we definitely would have brought a few beers to enjoy with dinner. Only downside is that the service was a little slow, but thats understandable since the restaurant was full and just two waitresses were taking care of everyone. All in all it was a great place to fuel up while we visited Newport. Worth!

Consistently poor service over three visits. Most recent was being sat at a table in the middle of the rest w a very large man behind me. I asked to be moved but was told that the other three empty tables are being saved. Then five minutes later being told to move so that people can walk behind us - exactly why I asked five minutes earlier. Other bad experiences include the poor management of the wait list and during very busy times, a greeter frequently not being present leading to confusion about wait times and wait list. Food is good but better off walking up the street to The Hungry Monkey. Much better service and overall experience.

Corner Cafe had great reviews so I put them to the "taste" and I wasnt disappointed. The food was so amazingly good! I ordered the Bistro Scrambler that was loaded with huge shrimps. The dish was filling in every way. The wait was almost an hour but it was sure worth it. We walked about the area and came back. This place is a must while in Newport. Im pretty sure they have the best breakfast/ lunch in Rhode Island and the pricing is unbelievably inexpensive.

My wife found this place after a tortuous drive on 95 from Philadelphia. We started with a pepper and veggie pizza that was the perfect app. I then moved on to the Portuguese seafood stew that reminded me of a cippino that I had at Phils Fish Market in Monterrey. The service was great also. You cant go wrong at this place and I understand that breakfast is their thing. I cant wait till morning to return.

The absolute best home fries Ive ever had and the sweet toast with maple pecan butter was fantastic. We also really appreciated the staff. The lovely waitress with the Irish accent was so helpful with telling us about the area and letting us know about fun things to do! Certainly the place to get breakfast while visiting! (And the prices were quite reasonable!)

A lot of the food has an Irish flare and always satisfies. If youre lucky enough to get here Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, you can enjoy some delectable hand made pizzas. They do take reservations for dinner if you would like. The Corner Cafe is BYOB so bring along your favorite wine to compliment your meal. Ask for Nichole and enjoy the visit!

I had their "Ovos Acores" - Bolo topped with chouriço, poached eggs, pepper jack cheese and hollandaise. The chourico added just the right amount of flavor to the bolo + pepper jack cheese combination. Phenomenal. Quite the cozy cafe, it was super crowded even in off-peak hours so make sure you allocate time to wait for an open table. Recommend!

My wife and I were done touring the mansions and needed to grab lunch. We fortunately stumbled upon this spot. There is no aspect to their cooking that you will not want to lick clean off of their plate. I had the best tuna melt ever. She had the Roys Chicken Quesadilla and loved it. And we topped it off with the bread pudding. Great food!
