This place used to be much better years ago. Ive visited this place many times over the years & I would have given this place 5 stars then, but not now. About a year ago they began to use lower grade ground beef in their enchiladas which was the first turn off. I then switched to their chicken products which are much better. (because of their chicken products & their chips I gave them 2 stars) Many times weve gone here the service has not been very good. The waiters/waitresses would mess up the order & not really care that they did so. There are a few workers here that make you feel like theyd rather youd not be there bothering them. The last time we were here was just 3 weeks ago around the middle of October 2014 & will be THE last time. My wife & I were purposely trying to keep our bill around $15, so we specifically ordered from the menu what we wanted. The waiter never wrote down our order, tried to relate our order by memory to the cooks, so my wifes meal went from a $5 item to a $10 dinner. The waiter never came back to give us refills on our drinks. When we got to the counter to pay, our bill which was already at $21 went to $24 because of the person at the counter rang up the bill wrong. At this point I just left it go because I knew this was the last time wed be back. Save yourself the trouble & just go somewhere else!! (unless, of course, you like to be treated this way)

This has to have been the worst service I have ever had. Me and a co-worker who arent from this area went here after deciding we wanted mexican. There werent many cars in the parking lot, so we thought this would translate into quicker service. First mistake. We sat at the bar which was filthy from spilled food and drink that hadnt been cleaned up. We even asked for a bar towel so we could wipe it up, which we never received. My friend asked for a Dos Equis on tap and I requested the same. The bar maid proceeded to pour the first beer and then ask for our IDs. He produced his, and mine was in the truck. She then walked away from the bar. He proceeded to reach for his beer which was out of his grasp. He asked a member of the wait staff to pass it to him, which he just proceeded to walk back into the kitchen area. She reemerged and said that she couldnt serve us. I am 32 years young, but I certainly dont look anything under 25. OK, so I didnt have my ID, but my buddy had his, We promptly left and went to Guadalajara, which had the friendliest staff, and was much cleaner and appealing aesthetically. I wouldnt bother to give this place the time of day.

The location and size of this establishment is what keeps it from being a 5 for me. Its very cramped and hot inside and its not easy to get to if you dont know where youre going, but now quality and service are beyond a 5 in my book. The servers for us have always been attentive, food comes out quickly and has always been fresh, and there is no lack of selection of food or drink to choose from. Atmosphere, other then being cramped, feels pretty authentic and gets you feeling festive!

Didnt have a good experience this time. We asked for more time to order. So she didnt come back to check for 20 minutes. My husbands order was completely wrong. The food tasted good. Waitress never came back to check if our food was ok or to see if we wanted more drinks. Top it off whoever was at the bar couldnt reach the glasses. So they put there fingers inside of the glass to get them down. Very nasty. Dont know if were going back

Mixed review. Id like to give 3.5. Service was excellent. Ordered the tapatilo and the chicken and chorizo were excellent. Rice was also good, a little firm, like I prefer it. Refried beans spent too much time in a blender. Too runny for my taste. Salsa had a decent flavor, but way too smooth. Would prefer a little texture. Seemed like a busy place and definitely worth another try.

I have just come to accept that people from York do not know what good mexican food is, or good food in general. After a miserable dinner at El Serrano I figured I would try mexican food in York one last time. While I wasnt expecting much, to my surprise the food was fairly good, well priced, and the menu had many choices. I am sure I will go back at some point.

Not the worst, but not worthy of more than 2 stars. Kinda a dive. Dingy, ragged carpet on about 3/4 of the floor, then bare concrete. All the crispy tortillas (chips, taco shells) are burnt. Better beef in school lunch tacos from what I remember of those. Open til 10 but they shut everything down at 9 and made us feel like we oughta leave. Not recommended.

The seafood nachos were quite tasty. I honestly was there for the $1.99 Wednesday margaritas and they did not disappoint. The restaurant isnt the best looking, but I believe hole in the wall restaurants sometimes have the best food and drinks. My waitress was a sweetheart and made sure my party had whatever we needed. I will gladly return.

Good food, mostly authentic, decent service and atmosphere and good prices. I have been coming here since 1994 and I have never had a bad meal. Tuesday and Thursday lunch specials around 6 dollars. I love their salsa and chips. This place is not a Chilies so dont expect tex-mex. Dont believe the naysayers.

My family and I had a great meal. The service was friendly and the portions were large. We all took half of our meals home. The food was priced fair as well. I cant wait to come back and get the same dish. I had a grilled steak with rice stuffed inside tortilla with jalapeno cheese sauce. Excellent...

I had the sampler. And enchiladas. The enchiladas I just didnt enjoy them they were OK I guess. But the sampler tacos dorados tasted old like frozen or like when the oil is old. .the waitress was very nice and attentive. Maybe Ill try something different next time.

I give the food 5 stars! But atmosphere is low. My seat cushion was all ripped and shredded. Floor was dirty and ceiling tiles were gross. Our server wasnt very attentive. Almost finished our meal before we got refills and had to track her down for silverware

We have been coming to El Rodeo for about 20 years and we love it! Our kids were toddlers when we first came here and today we are celebrating my sons 24 bday. He chose here for his bday dinner. Food is awesome! Service is awesome! Our favorite place to dine.

Food was delicious. I had the burritos deluxe, which consists of one beef and one chicken burrito topped with lettuce, tomato and sour cream. The only problem I had with tonights visit was that our waitress rushed us and didnt visit the table often.

This is probably my favorite Mexican restaurant in York the fajitas make Chilis look sad once you have fajitas here you will never ever go to Chilis again also some of the best tamales and margaritas
