We came here on a Sunday night for dinner. Perhaps a bit surprisingly, it was quite crowded - but, we got seated within about 5 minutes. We sat down around one of the hibachi grills, and gave our orders about 10 minutes later. Another 10 minutes passed by when one of the hibachi chefs came along. The chef, referring to himself as "Justin Bieber," was energetic, interacted with the customers, did the traditional light the grill on fire wiz bangs, etc. It was fun, however, it was pretty obvious he was making one of the customers quite uncomfortable by constantly driving the attention towards her. One of the pros (maybe cons?) of the hibachi experience is that we got to see all the ingredients that went into making our dish. I ordered the salmon hibachi, and let me tell you, a lot of butter, oil, and soy sauce went into making this dish. The soy sauce was absolutely overwhelming, masking any flavor there was to the salmon, rice, and vegetables. The plus is that the salmon wasnt overcooked!

Went to Mirakuya for my birthday last night and I must say, the service was impeccable. Although we waited awhile to be seated, we went to the bar, and enjoyed cheap drinks and a great atmosphere. When we got seated, we were entertained by the chef and the people at the next table. When our chef came over (the same chef as the next table), he entertained us with sake, singing and dancing, and a great show with his knives. The portions were huge, the ingredients were fresh, and the restaurant was beautiful. Everyone around us was laughing and having fun, making for a great birthday! At the end, after many, MANY sake shots, I got a free dessert and everyone sang happy birthday, plus, I got a coupon for 10 dollars off a future visit. The best part was that our meal did not break the bank (I ordered steak and lobster and my boyfriend had chicken and steak, and our bill was 42 dollars after my coupon!). I love this place and cant wait to go back!

Terrible service. They first took over 35 minutes to seat us when they told us it would be 10 and there were available seats at the sushi bar (which we asked to sit at) the whole time. Our waiter was horrible and messed up our order multiple times. Brought us the wrong soup and said it would be on the house. Forgot to give us rice. We had to remind him of these things 2 or 3 times before we actually received our items. Another waiter was the one to finally give us our rice and refill our drinks. When we received the bill, nothing was comped so we brought it to his attention. He said the first soup (that was wrong and something i DONT eat) was on the house ... So you were going to charge me for *your* mistake?? His only answer was that it was busy and we "dont have to leave a tip today" HA. Will never return. Wish I could give zero stars.

Ive been going to this restaurant for years but I can honestly tell you today was my last visit. My husband found a long dark hair in his lunch and when we told the waiter about it the manager came over and insinuated the hair was ours! My husband is bald, my hair is red and was pulled up in a tight bun, my daughters dark blonde hair was in a French braid and I sincerely doubt it belonged to my blonde 3 month old son. He said they all have black hair and it was too light and long to be any of the staff members. Moments later in walks a waitress with long brown hair! They did end up comping my husbands lunch but we were so appalled and offended by the assertion that we planted a hair in his food that we will NOT be back.

We were travelling through Wilkes-Barre, just ate here tonight with the kids, and it was an excellent experience. The teppanyaki chef was a lot of fun -- he sang, cooked, and squirted sake into each of our mouths (multiple times) as part of the show, along with a kids sake (probably coke and sprite) to squirt for the kids. The portions were huge, and the food was nice and hot, as expected, having come fresh off the grill in front of us. It was especially a hit with the kids. Bonus mention: since there were 6 of us, gratuity was included, but I didnt notice and added a full tip on top. They actually returned with my receipt and pointed it out to me to allow me to correct my mistake!

This is a very hometown sort of Japanese place with wonderful food, large portions, and decent prices. Anyone who says the food was bad, I have no idea what they were eating. Every time Ive ever gone Ive needed to take a doggie bag home the portions were large enough, and the food itself was delicious there and reheated the next day. A large menu, willing to customize a dish if you want to! (Just as a regulars note: for 9 dollars you get a huge bento-box style meal during the lunch hours thatll leave you feeling stuffed or be good for a second meal!)

Ordered takeout on a Friday evening at 5pm. I asked the girl who took my order to be sure that my soup was not packed with the sushi and sashimi so that it would stay cold. Well, not only did they package it separately, when I got home and opened my bag, they had ice in a plastic bag on top of my order, keeping everything at the perfect temperature. SUPER friendly too, and the food is always the best. Thanks for going above and beyond everyone!

Sushi rolls were creative different and good. Ordered yellow tail sashimi and as often happens I receive sea bass or another type of white fish. It definitely was not yellow tail. They assured me it was. I wonder if the fish wholesaler plays games with this. Happens more often than I appreciate in various sushi Restaurants. Quick turn over- service was good and attentive.

Have eaten here several times over the last few years. We drive almost 45 minutes to get here. Food is good. They make the hibachi very fun. Really good sushi. Try the Wilkes-Barre Roll - its a favorite. Also Sunday night they have a sushi special which is good. Only thing bad is that the place is starting to look worn, but the good service and friendly faces make up for it.

Weve tried many of the Japanese restaurants in the WB/Scranton area. We always come back here. The consistency of the quality of their food and their service is remarkable. Over the years we have been here about forty times and have never had a bad experience. We have sat at the hibachi grill, the sushi bar, the bar, and normal tables and have always had great service.

Always a fun time at this hibachi! The chefs here are very animated and makes the experience quite enjoyable by involving the guests in their routing. If youve been to other hibachi, the experience can be somewhat similar. The saki flows more freely with some chefs and the staff is very appreciative of the guests.

I go on Sundays since the sushi is at a discounted price ($1.25/piece and $2.75/ roll 4-9-11). Naturally its smart to call ahead for a reservation to avoid waiting for a table. The staff is very friendly and come by often to refill your beverage. The food is also very consistent from visit to visit.
