My wife and I like to drive around PA and find different breweries. Our visit here was not a positive one. When we arrived we were asked for a drink order and after 13 minutes waiting for a drink I proclaimed at twenty minutes we would leave. The server told us several times that she didnt forget about us and right as we were preparing to leave the drinks came. Near our table at the bar they had no bartender so the servers just sit old drinks on the bar and the stench of old beer is all you smell.(pic included) The beer is actually very good and I wish this was a place I could return to. As others have stated our food then took over one hour to arrive. They were not busy either with an entire room not even open. My wifes salmon salad cost over fifteen dollars and came with a over cooked piece of fish the size of a platinum card and thin. For comparison champs in state college is twice as big/good and cheaper. The house balsamic was good. My cheesesteak was fine but also not worth the price, most surprisingly the upgrade to fries from chips is three dollars and I got less than twenty fries (Pic included). This "signature dish" was average at best. Each step we held back from complaining but finally we waited forever to try and pay. After trying to flag down our server several times I proclaimed to another server that in two minutes I will leave whether only or not, I had been waiting an additional 17 minutes just to pay and had finally lost it. The other servers finally jumped to and we promptly left. The owner and servers were friendly and nice but I left feeling I pod forty dollars to leave frustrated and unsatisfied. TLDR: understaffed, overpriced, mediocre food, good beer, bad service

Expensive and pricey...food was OK. This was our first visit to the Wellsboro House and unfortunately probably our last. The food was good but the place is not a good value. A pint size glass of domestic draft will run you $5.75...pretty salty for my tastes. The food was expensive too. I did not get soup, but a bowl of clam chowder on the menu is $10. $10 for a bowl of soup?? I have never paid $10 for a bowl of soup anywhere so Im not sure what they put in it to make it so valuable. I got the fried haddock dinner. The portion size is big so thats a good thing but for $17.50 I would expect a nice portion. It came with one small container of tartar sauce. The kicker was when I asked for another tartar sauce... they brought it but then I got the bill later I found I was charged .50 for an extra tartar sauce. Youve got to be kidding! I have never been charged anywhere for an extra tartar sauce. For $17.50 you cant give me an extra tartar sauce??? Unbelievable. You may have gotten us this time but you wont get us again. There are other good value dining options in Wellsboro where they dont try to take advantage of you and nickel and dime you for every little thing. I cant recommend this place unless you have deep pockets and dont mind shelling out a small fortune for your meal.

My experience was rather poor. Have not eaten at the place in three years, forgot why I stopped eating there, went there, realized that I stopped eating there was because the food is simply marginal at best. The service is marginal, not nearly as bad as other places in Wellsboro, but just bad enough. National chain restaurants have better service, which is not saying much. The price of the food seemed to have jumped a bit in price since eating there years ago. Not sure if their supplier jacked up the cost, or it is to recover the expense of the brewery. I certainly can afford the food prices, but the quality and quantity of the food is simply poor. Food trucks offer a better value in terms of food quality, which is also not saying much.

Had dinner there with my family last week. Seemed to be very busy but I dont know why. We had 8 people at our table and were brought 4! Yes 4 slices of bread. I ordered an appetizer and a fish fry that included a salad. I got the salad and app at the same time. Thats a no no from what I know. The fish fry was a pre-battered and frozen product (cmon take some pride in what you serve) - the fries were fresh cut Ill give them that but served room temperature at best. Coleslaw was tasteless and the hush puppies were over cooked and dry. I dont believe our server asked how we were doing or how anything was until we were ready for the check. Tsk tsk tsk - there are better places to dine in Tioga County

The restaurant itself is very nice and but the waitress that we had service us tonight was completely horrible I had too of asked for napkins three or four times and she came back every time and didnt remember that I asked for them..! Very frustrating... The food is delicious but its way overpriced I had shrimp scampi and had way too much pasta and only like four shrimp for $20... my daughter who is 3 1/2 ordered chicken tenders and fries and the chicken tenders are more base towards an adult not children the breading is just not kid friendly I would have thought it would be seeing as how its on the kids menu.... needless to say I wont be going back.. ever!!

7 Hungry Guys came to the Wellsboro House this past Saturday. We were seated quickly, got our food in an orderly and timely fashion, had some of the most patient wait staff Ive ever witnessed who checked with us constantly, and always had our drinks topped off. Our food was done perfectly, and was excellent. The beer selection is incredible. The owner genuinley thanked us on the way out. I dont know what else you could possibly ask for...not a complaint to be found by one person in our group - that is no small task. Well done. I will be back many more times.

Stopped in for dinner while on a camping trip this weekend. The place has a nice atmosphere and good food. I had the Oyster Poboy which was delicious while my husband had the chicken Cheesesteak and that was tasty also. The only reason why I didnt give it 5 stars is because the wait was long to get anything. We waited about 15 minutes to get our drink order and then place our dinner order. The place was not packed so I could not figure out why it took that long. I did enjoy the food so we plan on going back to give it another try.

OMG This was an awesome find. Traveling to Wellsboro from Philly with friends the locals never mentioned this place and we kind of found it by accident. The beer selection meets or beats any great brewpub in Philly with a special section for Pennsylvania Brews. The food was surprisingly tasty. I had the Snapper with Bernaise sause and it was incredible. My buddy had the Cowboy Steak which was done to perfection. Chris and all the crew were friendly and welcoming. It is a 10 minute walk from the middle of town, but it is worth the walk.
