POOR QUALITY, RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE by the owner/manager, John!! Your money is better spent elsewhere. STAFF/SERVICE: Upon walking in, the staff was very friendly, which I appreciate. Im pretty sure our waitress was very new, so the shakey service was expected and to be forgiven. The manager of the bar did come over to us to ask how everything was which I also appreciated. They were clearly trying to make a good impression. When our waitress handed us the beer list, they were out of almost half of their selection. How is that possible when youre a craft house and youre out of beer? This was also a Wednesday night so its not like a popping busy Saturday or Friday. Not to mention it was not a busy evening and there is a beer distributor literally 3 mins. down the road- cant you make a beer run there to help satisfy the demand of customers? FOOD: Did nothing for us. I have seen businesses come and go here and Im afraid to say, but I wouldnt be surprised if this business follows suit. The menu was very bland (only one type of burger to choose from- this is a craft house/restaurant, right??) and they were a little pricey for the very sub-par quality of their food. The menu was also just one page and most of the entree items were all around $25+ which is kind of a lot for a small, local restaurant that isnt putting out the image of becoming the next upscale local restaurant. ATMOSPHERE: Its an aesthetic nightmare. First of all, in the dining room, the lights were turned up full blast. It was so bright I couldve worn my sunglasses. They definitely tried to go cheap with the decor and it really shows. This place has a lot of history and character as it was James Buchanans summer mansion. The primary colors they chose to decorate with are black, gold and red. This isnt an Asian bistro and did not fit the character of the building at all. Maybe those colors could have been salvaged if they wouldve spent the money on an interior decorator and professional painter, but Im pretty sure they did not. The tables and chairs in the dining room are SO cheap and SUPER uncomfy. Im not a heavy person, but i felt like the chair was oing to break as it squeaked like crazy. We could not wait to get up honestly because our butts and backs were hurting so bad. The centerpieces on the tables were weird- little bright green vases with matching gel balls in them- what?? Just dont put centerpiece on the table then. The pictures hung up on the wall were of all kinds of things- beaches, patios, flowers, cars. There isnt a nice flow to the decor at all- its pretty weird and confusing actually. OVERALL: We wont be back. Its fine for a cheap-tasting burger and a cold beer on the fly, but for a night out this place is just lacking in all sorts of ways. When the owner/manager, John, found out about my experience he attempted to pick a fight with me and told me to keep my opinion to myself. Really?? Is this how you treat a paying customer? How he ever became the manager with that attitude is beyond me. I guess his attitude reflects the atmosphere of this establishment. Poor in quality all the way around. This is NOT place I want to give my money to.

Ive been several times to the craft house to enjoy their live music on the patio which is fantastic, the outdoor atmosphere feels as if you are at your own home with a ton of your friends. The food is outstanding and Ive had the shrimp tacos , 5 stars, California burger, 5 stars , chicken Cesar salad, which is huge and delicious. Ive also had the craft house prepare wings for an event I held in my home, price was right on as well as my expectations on the quality and quantity. If you prefer indoor seating, this place is huge and has a great area with machines for kids upstairs, not ro mention a pool table near the outdoor patio. The bar area is big with a lot of seating either at the bar or high top tables. It is definitely a warm and welcoming environment, when you approach the craft house, you will most likely be greeted by the always happy /smiling Henry. Trust me , if you go once, the second time they will know your name and you become family. Enjoy , oh and the nachos are beyond delicious , there isnt much I havent had on the menu.

Greeter was very nice, Henry I believe was his name, asked questions about dinner and very polite, our server however was really crappy, blonde women, never smiled, never told us her name, asked how we were etc. forgot about us for 15 min then finally took our order, this place is strange, decor is odd for a " craft house " weird little room with only 4-5 tables, no atmosphere at all. The menu is pretty decent but wow is it expensive, $13 for the cheapest burger!?? This place is in thorndale and had prices like its in the city. Could eat at a steakhouse for about the same. Nachos were pretty gross, chips seemed stale and were burnt. Entrees were avg at best. Then comes the check, noticed I was overcharged for something, server never said sorry, never said she fixed it, just handed me the bill, she seemed miserable and clearly doesnt know how to do her job. Wouldnt eat here again or recommend it to anyone.

I went t o the "All You Can Eat Crab Legs" night. For $28.99 The Crab Legs shouldve been BIGGER and Definitely couldve been steamed a little better. I would get 2 clusters per plate and was lucky if the legs were hot, Luke Warm at best. I wondered if they were cooked earlier and served upon order?? My table also had a Pulled Pork sandwich and it was very good. Overall it was very expensive...total was $65.99 For a Cheeseburger ,Pulled pork sandwich & (AYCE) Crab legs and 3 Iced Teas.

Decent beer list but Im not a fan of the service. Overall, the staff is somewhat rude and condescending towards patrons which makes zero sense. Reading managements responses to guests reviews on Yelp or Facebook further reinforces those feelings. The lack of professionalism and knowledge of public relations is a major deterrent for me as a customer. I live nearby but will opt for further drives to patronize places that treat guests with more courtesy and respect.

This historic house, restaurant, bar, is a relaxing place to hang out. Its historical because this is the house of the former President Bucanan. The staff are amazing, friendly and its a great place to come unwind after work. I LOVE the bartenders, the friendly atmosphere, and entertainment they always have waiting for us when we arrive. Check out this place!

Delicious! Brought 2 picky and experienced beer drinkers. Selection is very broad and will please any taste. Raves about the food from burgers to fish to soup. You can bring the kids or have a quiet couples dinner. Casual and enjoyable. This is a hidden gem. Forget the hectic brewwry with bad food. Sit down, relax and enjoy!!

I had a wonderful time here with friends on two occasions. The entertainment was very good (Neon Allie) and the food was as well. The bartender was friendly and prompt. They had a very friendly gentleman greeter which was refreshing to see. Ill definitely be going back.
