It is 8:13 pm as I type. We were seated at Uma Hibachi in St Clair a little after 7 and we are already home! It is a McCord Family Tradition for about at least 7 years now to go out as a family on New Years Eve. Have been to Uma at least 4 times before. Have been to hibachis in Lehigh Valley where atmosphere was elegant and always good experience with chef and waitresses. Also have been to Hazleton which was always good. NYC, Orlando and shore places. We went to McUma tonight. It was basically a drive thru service. We were seated a little after 7 and were already leaving the place at 8:10. I never have been to a hibachi where I was rushed through so quickly. The waitress pointed a nasty finger at my son who didnt hand back his menu quickly enough. She hurriedly poured our Samporo into our glasses over a drain at chefs station so sloppily where the drain collected a lot of the beer she spilled. Never were given chopsticks at a Japanese restaurant until we asked for them. Never came back to see if we wanted another drink until we were about done eating. Soup and salad served at same time. Our appetizer came after chef was done. Chef performed horribly. One shot at consuming sake. Hibachi is equally about the experience as it is about the food. Experience sucked!!!

This place used to have great hibachi and sushi. The quality control has slipped over the past few months. The chicken is now rubbery, and the steak has a lot more fatty pieces than it used to. I used to eat here every 2 weeks or so. I stopped going after the slip in their hibachi ingredients until last weekend. My girlfriend missed the sushi, so we went and had 2 rolls each. My AAC roll was fine, but the other 3 rolls - 2 sweet potato and 1 avocado eel - were bland. Almost completely tasteless. The service was great, but the quality of the food has slipped too far. I dont see myself returning anytime in the near future.

The sashimi is excellent and I love the tsunami,its the garlic bulb looking item on the spoon in the picture in the gallery ..try it you love it ! I love the rolls here soft shell crab ,angry bird,volcano ..to name a few ..I am treated like family when I come here for an afternoon treat and drink or dinner ..spectacular food and great service ..

Great atmosphere, fun and tasty food! Reservations for the Hibachi bar are suggested, but even without reservations the wait isnt too long. If you like or want to try sushi, this should be where you go, no other place in Schuylkill County can compare with the quality at Uma! I love, LOVE, LOVE this place!

The food was very good, no waiting to get seated. It was a Monday 1/9/17 about 4pm. Our food was brought out quickly. The waitress was a sweetheart, should be more like her. We were there for a birthday, she brought out a fried ice cream and card and sang Happy Birthday. Will be going back for sure

Bento boxes are amazing for an affordable yet filling lunch. If your looking for dinner the hibachi here is very nice, clean and priced well compared to the competition. I have never had a bad experience here this is the 7th time Ive eaten here.

This is a regular lunch date place for my husband and I. We love sitting at the hibachi table and the staff is wonderful and friendly. The food is great also. We love the dumplings!

Uma is the best thing to happen to Schuylkill County!! Manager works his tail off, the chefs are hilarious and the food is unbelievably scrumptious. Excellent restaurant, indeed.
