Under no circumstances should you eat at the Crown Chicken "joint" in Scranton. I have an extensive background in food service, and unless youre looking for a trip to the ER, I wouldnt go near the place. We stopped there a few days ago and ordered the family meal with a few sides. We drove directly home and my wife tried the Macaroni salad and then asked me to try it. It was without a doubt RANCID. I figured that anything could be overlooked. I then opened the mashed potatoes and the were at the very least 5-6 hours old (yellowish-brown in color), next I opened the coleslaw and tasted it too...FOUL. My wife tried the chicken and said it was dry and old. I took the meal back to the "joint" and asked for my money back. The cashier asked why and I told him. He assured me that everything was fresh...I then asked him to take a bite..he promptly gave me my money back without trying any of the product. What does that tell you?

I got full blown food poisoning. And it was the first and last time I will ever eat crown chicken. Most disgusting experience Ive ever had I also told them I got food poisoning from their chicken and they tried to assure me it was not from there but I know it came from there it was the only thing I ate all day n just a few hrs after realizing I was sick my fiance went into the refrigerator to dispose of the chicken leftovers and it was nothing but raunchy smelling old spoiled chicken!!

Great place for Fried chicken lovers! I have been trying it for more than a year, and have recommended it to other around the area who have the same opinion as myself .. this is THE place for fried chicken in the area! Even kids love it and we have never had any problem with it .. I would suggest it to anyone!

Chicken did not stay warm in bag 4 short walk to parking lot, some of it had no chicken taste. Next time Ill consider chicken at the Popeyes which is better. This chicken gave me a lot of hi-test gas which was unpleasant.

All the walls are covered with a huge menu, many choices, all tasty and well priced. I come in weekly for the lamb. Its my favorite meal. And yeah, the owner is hard to understand. So just point and enjoy!

if you buy coleslaw or macaroni salad at any fast food place youre simply setting yourself up for disaster...my experience with crown has been good for the chicken and cheese steaks

Cheap, fast, deep-fried chicken...the special sauce and fries are a must to try. The fried chicken and beef patties are some what organic.
