My girlfriend and I were really excited about eating here since there arent too many mexican restaurants in the area. We ordered our food and everything seemed to be going great until my girlfriend found a black hair in her salad. We told our waitress about the hair, she then came back and said that the manager had no idea how the hair got in the salad but offered us free desert. Free Desert? Thats something you offer someone when its their birthday not when you find a disgusting hair in your salad. We ended up leaving shorty after and while we were paying for our two sodas that we had, the manager came out and said " maybe the hair came from being outside on the patio"... Seriously??? As a local business owner, i was appalled by the response from the management in light of finding a piece of hair in our salad and not taking any kind of responsibility. I will never go back to this restaurant!!

The decor was elegant and more than I would expect from a store front restaurant. A slight mildew smell was prevalent, the renuzit air fresheners every where did not help much. The pre-meal salsa and chips were out of the bag multi colored chips(as far as Im concerned any mexican restaurant worth its salt has fresh fried tortillas) and the salsa was refrigerator cold. My wife ordered enchiladas which she enjoyed. I had the three meat fajitas (chicken shrimp and beef) the chicken was good the steak was very tough and stringing to the point that the butter knife I was provided with could not cut through it. The shrimp were not de-vained which I would expected in a restaurant considered to be slightly upscale from your average small Mexican restaurant. Bottom line the decor some what justifies the price, but the food is not on the scale with either.

Another excellent dinner. Went there two nights ago with my wife and two friends. The girls had chicken enchiladas, I cant recall what Stan had, but I had the delicious Chicken Mole Poblano. Wow, it was good. We started with the complimentary chips and salsa while we waited - both very good, by the way. The dinners came with a very tasty soup, a side of rice - also excellent - jalapeños, sour cream and tomatoes. The waitress was great. Very friendly, very knowledgeable about the menu, and with the right amount of attentiveness. Music was pleasant and not too loud. I always enjoy the interior décor. Another great visit.

The ambiance is great, the margarita was delicious. There is a big problem with my favorite seafood enchiladas I used to love though. It is not the same recipe and there was barely any seafood in it... The homemade tortilla was super thick and instead of being like a roll it was round shaped and the cheese sauce topping with just not as good as it used to be. The spicy refried beans are an improvement over the black beans that were like a soup... But please bring back the standardized recipe for the seafood enchiladas the way they were a year ago or I will not be craving them again.

This was our first time to the restaurant. The service was beyond exceptional and the food was delectable. No one would leave this restaurant hungry for the meal came with Spanish rice and soup. The entire interior has been completely renovated and offers a classy decor and comfortable seating. Even with the classy decor, it offers and a warm and friendly atmosphere. The chicken chimichanga was out of this world and I look forward to going back soon. It is a must for anyone who enjoys fine Spanish cuisine. The prices were very affordable, too.

JC has a great atmosphere! The service was great and the food was phenomenal. All of our dishes came with some of the best black beans that I have ever had. The steak fajitas were made with steak from a local butcher and it was very tender and tasty. We would definitely get again. The kids all loved the soup and really enjoyed the dinner, including an order of crab cakes! Overall a great experience, friendly staff, and great food. BYOB!

Great food, great service!! The owner even came out to make sure everything was ok. I had the chicken cheese and pork enchilada meal and my favorite was the pork by far, the rice was great and the bean soup is really good me and my girlfriend were a little shy about eating it but were glad we did. The place serves drinks but we brought are own wine, also the atmosphere was perfect definitely a place i would go again and recommend.

Tonight was the first time we went to Juan Carlos restaurant. The food was out of this world. Our waitress was awesome... thanks so much for everything Mercedes. The guacamole is made fresh every day and it is delicious. The Margarita chicken and the Chimichangas are fantastic. Our dessert was so rich and decadent. If your looking for real authentic Mexican food... I recommend you go....you wont be disappointed.

I have been looking around the Lehigh / Berks area for great Mexican for months, and this place is amazing! Tried some of most of the menu and it was all spectacular, or at least was fully intentional in its flavor. The atmosphere is great, the service was great, all around fantastic place and the prices were extremely reasonable for billing itself as a fine dining reservation only establishment.

May be great for the area but I wouldnt eat here again. The food is not authentic Mexican. Its lacks flavor and quality ingredients. Lots of decorations and nice atmosphere with good service. If you have high standards when it comes to Mexican, dont go. Its like ordering Mexican at a diner. Two stars because the service was polite and fast.

Great ambiance and friendly service. Five of us went for dinner and several of the plates were outstanding. The Mexican egg rolls were a unique and wonderful appetizer. The Pescado Mexicano was out of this world. The desserts were all fabulous, especially the tres leches cake. We will be back!

Went to this restaurant on a Friday night. It was very laid back and relaxing, definitely more of an upscale location. The servers were pretty attentive. Food is very good and a little on the pricey side but worth it. Wasnt a huge fan of the rice and calamari but everything was generally good.

Well, its been over an hour and a half. My order was taken by the waitress who seems to care less. The order was wrong and completely forgot one of my parties order. We found wood in more than one of our entrees. What a disaster. Ill never come back.

7/30/2011 first time here. Great food. Not standard mex food. I had a mole chicken dish - excellent. My gf had a cuban chicken dish - even better. Byob and they make margaritas - next time. $40 for food soft drinks and tax. Well worth it.

Authentic Mexican food, great atmosphere. You can mix and bring your own drinks or use their bar. Staff always friendly and helpful. Food does take a little while but its because they make each dish fresh.
