I read and heard great things about this place and thought I would give it a try with some carry out orders. The first time I called the woman was so rude I hung the phone up on her. I thought maybe that was a fluke so the next day I place my first lunch carry-out order -- orange beef. The orange sauce was excellent and the serving was generous. However, I returned the next day to order shrimp with cashews and it was terrible! The shrimp were soggy and it was filled with a ton of chopped celery. I then returned for a third carry out order - stir fry General Tsos Chicken and it was awful. It was very heavy in stir fry sauce and the serviing did not even fill the carry out dish. OK, I though one more chance. I decided to get a dinner carry-out order - stuffed Shrimped with Chinese eggplant. Again it was terrible, I dont think that the rice was fully cooked and the shrimp were hard and chewy. Conclusion: WAY OVER PRICED for the quality of food. One out of four meals was worthy of praise and the rest were terrible. I have no idea why people rave about this place. I must be missing something because I will never return. Maybe if you eat in the resturant the food is good and they give the scraps to people for carryout -- just THE THOUGHT IS DISGUSTING.

Have eaten here several times and told my sister about it, (She lives in an apartment in my home) She decided to treat me to take out this evening and ordered and picked up the food. She was treated VERY rudely by the woman who gave her the order. In some places you can substitute white rice for fried rice and in this case you can not, WHICH IS OKAY.. My sister, not having ordered from here before didnt not know that and with the combination of the slight language barrier, and my sister not ordering from a menu, just by what I told her, she was treated very poorly. All my sister said was she didnt want the white rice (not knowing it came with the meal) and she was told, basically, "If you dont want it throw it away" And when my sister said she was sorry she never ordered before she was told, "(rather, yelled at) Yes, you did order here before" (remember my sister lives in my home and this time used MY phone to place the order) For this reason, not because the food wasnt good, but the WAY my sister ,who is an angel on earth, was spoken to, we, and my family will not order from Silk Road again..

They were very rude and the manager told me it was my choice that I had a gluten allergy. All I asked was what is my choice to switch out white rice and told me that! And hung up on me! I been goin there for seven years and this is the first time I have been treated like this and she was talking about me to her co worker! Needless to say they lost about ten people who go there faithfully every month. My family was mortified how I was treated. Having a gluten allergy isnt a choice and how dare her! I was just trying to figure out my options since I have been gluten free for a week now and not sure how I offended her!

Usually big fans of Silk Road until yesterday. My husband and I decided to have the hibachi for dinner, we both ordered the scallops. They cut the scallops horizontally in half (probably to save money) and the "chef" cooked the super thin scallops for about 10 minutes before drenching them in teriyaki sauce. My husband asked if we could have normal size scallops and the manager made up excuses and was not accommodating or even seemed like she cared. More disappointed in her reaction then the scallops we wasted. Will definitely not be going back for while :(

Most friendly Staff and wonderful food! Only been in this restaurant a handful of times but the owner remembers me and asks how i am doing and how my grandfather is everytime, which makes you feel like they actually care about their customers! When i order take out which i do more frequently, they always get your order right and give you very large portions, so you have plenty for leftovers the next day! I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great chinese food where they will receive great service in a beautiful atmosphere!

Such a bad experience....Started with the very rude counter staff....Started walking with a menu, without saying a word, and shot a glance back because we were not behind her. Threw the menus down after seating and walked away...Food came somewhat cold, meat was tough....Had to flag a table cleaner to get a water refill...Not that busy, but not much contact with waitstaff......Stay away, go to Armstrongs a few doors up and enjoy a quality meal...

Chinese food - the stuff Americans think of as Chinese - doesnt get any better than this outside of town. Their prices are higher then what you would expect from a Chinese restaurant but the quality is excellent the portions are very good. It feels like youre going to a quality restaurant not your average Chinese place. Nice for an occasion. They have private seating for small groups and a full bar.

First thing we noticed was the beautiful decor, really makes you feel like youre in a high class restaurant. But to our surprise, the prices were just as good as any cheap Asian restaurant, with the exception of certain special items like duck. The food was VERY good, and the menu had lots of options, including hibachi. The service was exceptional. This is definitely my new go-to Chinese food place.

Food was really good and could tell it was fresh. The service seems to need some work. Water was empty more than it was full. Waited over 10 minutes for the check and then waited another 5-8 minutes for someone to pick up the check so we could leave. They werent even busy. Food was still great. The food saved the experience and may possibly return.

The best Chinese restaurant in town. Our family has been eating here since it has opened in Upper St Clair and have followed them across town to Caste Village, not only because the owners and staff are friendly and accommodating , the food is well worth the trip and unbelievably delicious... Shrimp stuffed eggplant or 8 Pearl duck !!!

Went there for the first time and was ignored by all staff while waiting at the door for 15 minutes. When we finally sat down it was the SLOWEST service ever. I ordered a drink and they came over and slammed it on the table overflowing everywhere. Dinner was about 2 hours and food was nothing special. Ill never go back.

Absolutely loved this place. The food is one of the top notch quality at an affordable pricing. Everything on the menu has fresh ingredients with a good cut of meat. My favourite dish over here is chicken fried rice with a side of the shrimp sauce.
