DETAILED REVIEW: Ate here a few nights ago with my boyfriend to check out the new renovation, new additions to the menu, and overall atmosphere. We had eaten here before when it was called Chaba Thai. Back then, the interior/exterior of the building was very bland and did not match the type of cuisine at all. Fast forward to now: When we pulled up to the building, there were so many cars in the parking lot that I thought wed turned into the wrong one. When it was Chaba Thai, there were hardly ever, if any, cars there. The exterior of the building looks nice. The large sign out front with the name of the restaurant could have been better, as it wasnt very eye-catching. Walking outside, we noticed that the interior has been improved tremendously, with the addition of a lit sushi bar, new tables, chairs, everything. It was very inviting and the perfect setting for a casual date night. I noticed that they had jazz music playing, which was odd for an Asian restuarant. The menu consists of several types of cuisine depending on what youre in the mood for...Thai, Japanese (sushi), and Chinese. The sushi menu alone was the longest Id ever seen...actuallly, the menu itself was annoyingly long, and it took me and my boyfriend about 10 minutes just to decide what to eat. We ordered the Thai Tea like last time (amazing, btw!) and he ordered 2 kinds of sushi while I ordered the Pranam Long Song just as I did the first time we came. My boyfriend told me that the sushi was good, but not better than Ichibans. My meal was good, but like last time, the sauce was very watery. Our waitress was peppy, knowledgeable, and offered great service. I would definitely eat here again.

We heard good things about the food, however...we were seated in the back corner of the restaurant along with the couple that was in front of us. 15 mins later, the waiter got the other couples drink order, 10 mins later they got their drinks, 5 mins later he took our drink order, then their food order and ours. 10 mins later we got our drinks. The waiter said they were sooo busy and apologized.( more than half the tables were empty. Over 30 mins later we got our food. Both of us couples were not impressed..so in conclusion over 30 mins to get water and tea, and after about 2 hours we were finished with dinner......maybe others had better experiences but at least 2 couples did not

Exceptional Asian cuisine in an upbeat contemporary atmosphere! Many come for the sushi, many for the Chinese and I come for the Thai. The curries are phenomenal, I also enjoy pad Thai and the beef noodle soup. Fresh ingredients, made from scratch, and served at the right temperature and spice level. The service is excellent and attentive, the three cooks and the sushi chef are spot on. Here, details are important. Dont forget the drinks! Especially the variety of cocktails, the flaming volcano, and of course absinthe. If youre going to eat Asian cuisine then make this your go-to restaurant. You wont go wrong!

The service is bar none. They are really on top of things here!! If you ask to speak to the manager, pronto.....You have them right there in 5 minutes or less.... The food is also exceptionally good and well prepared!! Really impressive. There recently has been a lot of selection in Roanoke with asian food.... This place beats the Fiji Island restaurant up the hill by 100x. I say out with the old and in with the new!!! Excellent place here with reasonable prices. I have heard they are pricey but for the portions and the customer service you receive its more than worth it!! You will have a great time here!

This place is fantastic! FAR better than Cafe Asia! Clearly better than Fiji. This is the best restaurant in Roanoke. I go a couple times a week and order several appetizers, entrees, and rolls. The jackfruit dessert is good. I really liked the sweet sticky rice that came with it. The miso soup is the best Ive ever had. Ive tried three different kinds of veggie rolls and theyve all been out of this world. Tried several tofu entrees and again, out of this world. The only thing Ive eaten here that was just "okay" was the golden triangle appetizer. This place is wonderful. Highly recommended

Taste of Asia is great for a quiet dinner on a Tuesday evening or a group of friends wanting good food and good drinks. The ambiance and staff are wonderful and welcoming. The menu is extensive with delicious options ranging from Thai to Chinese to Japanese. I have had the pleasure of enjoying spicy Thai noodle soups to Chinese standards to exquisitely prepared sushi (check out the "caterpillar" unagi roll). This is a great neighborhood restaurant with many options to satisfy almost every palate.

Parking tight. Restaurant well laid out and spotlessly clean. Staff greeted regulars by name and inquired on their family. Ordered takeout but staff member gave me a drink and an appetizer on the house. Ordered soup, fried rice, and appetizer. All were very good but fried rice substituted bell pepper for tomato, which disappointed me. Prices normal for this area, portion sizes generous and ingredients were fresh and style true to ethnic regional fare. Will definitely return.

My husband and I love to go to Taste of Asia. Its like going to a friends house for dinner. Evelyn, the owner, is always warm and welcoming to all the guests. Tjin, the sushi chef, makes delicious and interesting creations. The staff are all friendly and accommodating. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is contemporary yet comfortable. Taste of Asia is a MUST destination when in Roanoke.

Not sure who has been reviewing this place but its ok at best, the atmosphere is really but the Thai food is pretty weak, Chicken Pad Thai is runny, under cooked a bit and the type of rice noodles dont keep in the heat very well. The Green Curry Chicken is average at best. I probably wont go back just because I know of better places in the area for Thai food which I have to say are very few.

The food is amazing. The people there are friendly. The only thing I have wrong with it that isnt the greatest is that the spice is inconsistent. For example sometimes I will order very hot and it will be really hot, other times I get the same thing and it is like they didnt anything to make it spicy. The general tso and orange chicken is my favorite food in the world. I highly recommend it.

Taste of Asia has consistently good food. The portions are large and will fill most large appetites. The menu has a very large selection of dishes that should satisfy a picky eater. The atmosphere is clean and inviting. The staff is attentive and engaging. It is one of the better restaurants in Roanoke, especially if you are looking for a non-chain venue with fresh food.

My wife and I had our anniversary here. The tuna roll was excellent! I had the sweat and sour chicken she had the Thia teriyaki chicken. Mine food was great other than the veggies were in my opinion not cooked enough. My wifes chicken was cold and her veggies were undercooked. The place was very clean , priced reasonable and the staff was very nice and pleasant.

I only eat sushi when I’m in Roanoke, and its only right here in Taste of Asia. Mouth watering and tastes like no other, the best sushi there is in anywhere I know. The beef noodle soup is to die for, and the veggie roll is the crispiest. The staff is the friendliest; the owner, the best:-) My second home, TOA.
