We have been to Saga several times and have always enjoyed our dinner. However, our most recent experience was so unprofessional, we will never return. We had dinner reservations for my husbands birthday and arrived promptly. There was only one other table being served, and it was clear they were not busy at all. Although our server initially took our drink order, she did not return for quite some time. Eventually, another employee came over and gave us our drinks. The table next to us got their drinks, placed their order and had their salads, while we were still waiting for our server to return. My husband politely asked one of the employees to let our server know we wanted to order, but instead of acknowledging us, she continued to set an empty table nearby. After 20 minutes, our server still had not returned. I decided to approach the employee at the bar who was busy playing on her cell phone. I asked if there was a manager on duty, and she said she was the manager. I explained we had been waiting for 20 minutes and no one had taken our order. As I spoke, the woman looked at me and had zero reaction to what I was saying-she just stared at me and when I finished speaking, she proceeded to tell me we had not been waiting for 20 minutes, our party did not arrive together (which was incorrect as we were all there on time) and part of the experience was to have time to review the menu. I then reiterated we had been waiting for 20 minutes, and she told me she was sure it was not 20 minutes and but if I was someone who needed "immediate service" she would take my order. I was so taken back at her rudeness, I said we were leaving. We had to pack up our party of 7 and luckily, Benihana was able to accommodate us on such short notice. We ended up having a very nice meal, with a professional and courteous staff.

My wife and I have been here a handful of times. The first few times, the food was fantastic and they did a great job accommodating their customers! Lately, the past few visits have been horrible (poor service, under cooked food, etc...). For the last visit, they seated us after just 10 minutes at the Hibachi (which was great) but did not tell us that we would have to wait for another 50 minutes because they didnt have enough chefs. (They did this to 2 other tables as well, hoping that once the customers sat down that they would not leave.) The chefs also seem to be in a rush with the food being extremely under cooked and not taking hardly any time to entertain the table like they used to. Overall, I must say that this restaurant has been declining sharply in food quality and customer service. Whatever the cause is, I would advise spending your money elsewhere at Ichiban or Benihana. They are too expensive to waste it on a poor experience and a case of food poisoning.

We went to the South Hills Saga to celebrate my sons 16th birthday with a party of 9. We arrived on time and were immediately seated in the back room; our waitress was very sweet and immediately took our drink order. She was very attentive throughout the entire night. The chef was very entertaining and the food was great! They allowed us to bring our own cake (we still did the lotus flower on the cheesecake because the kids love that), and the waitress even cut and served the cake that we brought. A great time was had by all. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a unique dining experience.

I will not be returning to this saga location. On two recent occasions while sitting in the dining room, my food was cold to the touch. On the first instance we asked for our food to be reheated and it came back just as cold. Our waitress did wait to make sure our food was okay. This waitress, who we received both times, acted cold and didnt give our table nearly enough attention, often just placing our food on the table without a word. The next time we came and received cold food, we decided our microwave would do a better job and left. Not happy.

Our family of 10 went there to celebrate my sons birthday. ...was seated right away...but we asked for back room but was told they werent busy enough to use it...I did ask when I made reservations. ....the food was horrible...undercooked the soup tasted like dishwater...had a person with Celiac had his food cooked in kitchen..not much better....his salad had a bad smell ...the chef was not engaging with us at all....seemed rushed to get on to next table.....will not be going back....

The food is decent and the atmosphere is nice but the cooks are way too intense and insistent that you catch food in your mouth... If they could learn to take no for an answer, we would eat here more often. But if you are into high energy cooks and like catching broccoli and watered down saki in your mouth then youll have a great time!

Server - Stella Chef - some funny guy Food was great- steak and scallops. Service was good and we didnt have to wait for anything. Not a lot of people there for a Saturday evening. Based on this experience I would go back

Service is so so at best. They pick and choose who to show courtesy. And those they dont get the bare minimum of service and interaction.

Terrible service, had a bad day. Waiters barely speak English. Well to America, learn.
