I am from out of town visiting and yesterday was my 2nd time visiting this restaurant. The very first time I visited about a few weeks ago, I googled Korean restaurants in this area and this one had good reviews so I decided to give it a try. I remember walking into the restaurant and I stood there by the door for a while, while several workers there just ignored me. I wasnt even acknowledged and after a while someone finally took me to a table. They only had 2 servers for the whole restaurant. It took 30mins to even get someone to come see us at the table to get our drink orders. I saw several other customers walk in and they were ignored as well. A couple other tables that were sat after we were were frustrated as well for the terrible service they were getting. And on one of the tables, the people all just got up and left after waiting forever to even place their orders. Another group of customers came in and one of the servers sat them on the dirty table that the previous customer (who left because no one came to their table). The server told the customers that the previous customers who were sat at that table just walked out so they can just use the silverware and plates that were already on the table. I couldnt believe what that server had just told the customers. Throughout the night, it was a struggle to get anything from the servers. They never once checked on our table. I had to hunt a server down every time I needed more water. The server made me feel bad asking for water and a new spoon (because there was dried up food on it) and made it look like I was asking him to do such a big task. Apparently there was a party of Korean customers who were regulars that were eating there that night and these servers were only good to them. I am Korean as well and I know that unfortunately, a lot of Korean restaurants ran by Korean people dont have the best service but I have never seen one like this before. After that terrible experience few weeks back, Im here again to visit and wanted Korean food. I thought Id give it another try. I walked in w my fiancé again last night and we stood by the door and waited... Several servers just stared at us yet continued to ignore us. My fiancé and I were so mad we just walked out and decided that we will never come back to this restaurant again. Ive been a server for a long time in the past so I am very understanding and can relate to how servers feel but this place has terrible employees. The food tasted ok and the interior was nice and clean but its not worth it for me to have to spend hours in here waiting to be serviced. We ended up googling another restaurant and went to Korea Garden instead. This place was so busy when we walked in but despite the craziness, I couldnt believe the service we got. It looked like a family owned business and the poor servers ran their butts off. I highly recommend not to waste your time at Green Pepper. There are a few other Korean restaurants around this area so try them out. Im not one to give such bad reviews on restaurants but this place truly deserves a bad review.

Two of us had the “Bibim-Bop” and my other friends had the “Bull-Go-Gi” and the Spicy Chicken "Doe-She-Rock". All the dishes were very good. I can definitely recommend the “Bibim-Bop” which was served in a very hot, authentic looking stoneware bowl. The staff was very friendly and helpful, giving detailed explanations to our questions about the food and the restaurant. Unfortunately we didnt get to check out the karaoke; the karaoke room was rented by a special party that night. BTW for K-pop fans, they had a TV playing K-pop videos all evening, with SNSD heavy in the rotation. Frankly this was our first time at a Korean restaurant, but from everything Ive learned about Korean food and culture, it lived up to my expectations. We all really enjoyed our experience at the Green Pepper. BTW we were there celebrating my birthday and they were kind enough to give us complimentary beverages in honor of the occasion. I had the Korean white grape juice, which had peeled white grapes floating in it; very good, and very classy. 감사합니다 to the staff and owners of the Green Pepper.

I went to this place a while ago while I was on a business trip. It was late and I dont remember what I ordered. It was some kind of noodle. I mean its a Korean place after all. I waited and waited. It was close to 9. Finally the food came. It turns out its what the table next to me had ordered and they made a mistake. I didnt know/care, started mixing and eating. Then all the sudden, the waiter rushed out, and asked (accused?) me:"its not your food, what did you eat it?" I was like...F* you, am I paying to eat here or am I paying for a food identifying contest? If its not my food, why the heck did you put it on my table? Then he went on and ask:"do you want it? you can keep it if you want, you just have to pay for it." Yo, I dont care man, just give me my food alright? You want me to pay double? Whatever, they took the food away. I started waiting again! In the end, I was stuffed, but man, their service was absurd and price wasnt cheap either. No, I didnt leave a tip if you wonder.

This is probably one of the best Korean restaurants in Pittsburgh area as of 2017, though the home-style food is not as heartwarming as those family-run restaurants in other neighboring cities. To give fair credit, the dishes are probably more exquisite than other usual Korean restaurants, but we were a bit disappointed by a few things 1) there were only four side dishes offered, even without kimchi, 2) the dishes are unusually spicy, 3) there is a gas smell in the room, 4) water instead of warm barley tea was offered. I hope there will be a husband-and-wife-run Korean restaurant with a more cozy setting in Pittsburgh.

Pretty good, but I confess to liking NakWon Garden more for the dishes we tried (sundubu jjigae - spicy soft tofu stew, and a seafood bibimbap). Green pepper did better with the traditional array of appetizers, but the mains at NakWon were better. The chive pancake here was very good, though, and the little glass of sweet cinnamon ginger tea (soojong gwa) to finish was very nice. Were pescitarian, so it may be that there are superior meat dishes we didnt try at either place. Ambience was good and better than the competition.

LOUSY! We stopped for a quick lunch and ordered the lily tea. I wanted a light soup for an upset stomach. When I couldnt find anything that suited me, we decided to leave. I cant tell you how shocked I was when I got the bill for two cups of tea ( not even brewed tea and no sugar to put in it) for TEN DOLLARS!!!!! I should say two cups of water because the tea had no flavor. I left there SO mad and SO upset. I will NEVER recommend this place and surely will NEVER be back. Waste your money somewhere else!!!!

I enjoyed the food. This was the first time I ever went to a Korean restaurant, but the menu describes the food. The portion was well worth the price, and the server did a very good job, although there was not many people there on the Thursday early evening that we went.. There was 6 of us there, and we all enjoyed our food. They give a discount if your group pays in cash, although there is an ATM there if you have your card. I will be back.
