Tucked amid a slew of other West Market businesses, Seoul Garden is quite easy to miss. The building is nondescript on both the outside (there’s signage, but nothing memorable about it) and within (the dark wood on white walls is classy albeit familiar). Indeed, the only thing that initially stands out about the establishment is the fact that it is Korean; there aren’t many in Greensboro. Once the menu reaches your hands, however, everything changes. Seoul Garden has something for the newcomer and the Korean aficionado alike. Dishes range from simple, tried-and-true (udon and ishiyaki) to enchantingly complex (table-prepared gol dishes that combine everything under the sun). Our server recommended the bulgogi, so we tried one with beef and one with spicy pork. Like any reputable Korean restaurant, Seoul Garden offers an assortment of banchan (side dishes). The kimchi and vegetable dishes were tasty, but a Waldorf salad-like concoction was perplexing. The bulgogi came as advertised, which is to say spicy (they can tone it down upon request) and sizzling hot. Throw in some complimentary miso and a sweet cinnamon iced tea dessert and you’re looking at quite a bit of food for the money ($9.99). It’s worth noting, however, that prices increase sharply among the more intricate shared dishes (including a reservation-only multi-course $100 halibut sashimi). Staff at Seoul Garden are polite, but the service leans toward slow. This is not much of a problem from a hunger standpoint – the side dishes can tide you over until the bulk of your food arrives – but be sure that you plan for a leisurely meal. Crowding was not an issue during our visit. Don remains the more convenient option for a quality rice bowl, but with so many eye-catching options left unexplored, Seoul Garden begs for a return visit. This time, we’ll know exactly where to find it.

One star not because it is Korean nor because of what we ordered; one star because of the quality of the food. I ordered a stew with beef ribs and cabbage because it was familiar to me. The first hint of the lacking of quality was in the side dishes we received. They are your normal Korean dishes, kimchi, pickled veggies, and such, but each tasted as though they were weeks old, completely bland, or rancid i.e. the tofu. My stew smelled amazing, but that was about it. There was some "beef" in the stew. Maybe 2-3 oz, four pieces smaller than the size of a piece of beef stew, of grizzle and fat that was mostly inedible. The broth itself was what I can best describe as spicy water. $10 for maybe a $1s of ingredients. The other dish we ordered was teriyaki shrimp. Veggies were old, on the verge of being spoiled, and after the five nickel sized shrimp, we left hungry. More sick than hungry. The only thing that was of quality was the can coke and the rice, which is the only thing that could not have been used from the day before. Complete waste of money, and a disgrace not only to Korea and Korean food, but to the restaurant business and Greensboro.

My first experience was good but has gone down since then. My friend and I ordered the kimchi soup, but she had eggs in hers and I had rice cakes. So our orders came out different. Also, my sister ordered something off the menu and it was completely different from the description on the menu. But to make it all worse, when I paid for my meal up front, the waitress told me to leave tip, not knowing that it was on the table. I was shocked especially since I had left a 20 percent tip on the table for her! Really bad service! PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR TIP FROM YOUR CUSTOMERS! And I ALWAYS leave a good tip, even if the service is mediocre.. so with that experience, they lost me as a customer.

One star rating is too much for them. If you would like to taste Korean food at this restaurant, DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. I have never seen this worst Korean restaurant in my life. I have been this area for four years and went to many Korean restaurants in various cities. However, I would say this Korea restaurant (Seoul Garden) is the worst in the world. They have two main problems; taste of food and price. The taste of foods are in terrible, not even worth $2 but the price is much expensive than other Korean restaurants. They have a lot of guts. They absolutely have no clue how to cook Korean food. I am really surprise how they are still doing the business in this area.

So everything I had her was excellent. Its a little difficult to order the first time unless you speak Korean. The menu is in English and Korean, but the descriptions are probably better in Korean. If you order one of the dishes for two, the portion is immense. So keep that in mind. This is a really cool place if youre looking for something different and a food adventure. Also, most of the dishes are going to be at least a little spicy. Ask questions about how to eat if you need to.

I love this restaurant! The waitresses are nice and the food is great. Also, as a Korean pop culture fan, I love being greeted with K-pop (with both songs I do and sometimes do not know) as I walk through the door. My favorite dishes are Chicken Katsu and Bulgogi Dubbab. Ive recommended coming to this restaurant to quite a few of my friends and they all love it and love me for recommending it to them. You should do what did and trust me on this...you will not be disappointed.

We dropped in on a Wednesday night around 6:30 p.m. . There were few diners and we had no wait. We ordered the fried chicken right away because it takes a half hour to prepare. Then we ordered the beef bulgogi and the fried pork belly and vegetables. Everything was delicious and well prepared. Our waitress was very nice and packed the fried chicken to go but We snuck a few pieces to complete our meal. $70 including tip and a beer, plus we had fried chicken the next night!

Highly, highly recommend this restaurant! We ordered the dol sot bibimbap and tonkatsu plate and both were fantastic. The tonkatsu was huge and the meat perfectly fried without being dry or tough. There was also a variety of side dishes that were equally good, my favorite being the corn salad. Loved the decor as well which is somewhat zen with large white paper lanterns over each table. If youre looking for some great Korean food in Greensboro this is the place! :)

Ive been to a variety of Korean BBQ restaurants around the world, and this one was at the bottom of the list. Mediocre food, no flavor, and they dont even give you a choice of what to tip... Asked them to give me a sunny side up egg on one of my dishes and they said ONLY a fried egg was possible. Ok? Other than that if youre looking for something to half way pass as Korean food this is the place.

Really nice quiet place to have lunch or dinner. Not long of a wait for a table or the food. Went with 3 friends and we all enjoyed the food and the staff. I would say give it a try, because it has a pretty good number of food option to pick from. Planning to go there soon with my girlfriend.

Delicious. The menu is vast and everything is great. The Banchan (side dishes) are great and every time i go theres a different one. Love the Broiled Mackerel the most... Biggest downfall is that the bbq is pricey. (can do it cheaper at home, but why go through the trouble...)
