WORST SUSHI EXPERIENCE EVER This was my first time at Sushi Kim, and DEFINITELY my last. The outside and inside looked a little run down, but you cant really judge a restaurant by its looks. The lady at the front when we first walked in had a big smile on her face and quickly sat us down. I had a party of 8. This is where it starts getting crazy. We had an older lady as our waitress, and she definitely had to be the worst waitress that Ive ever had. First of all, she didnt even welcome us to the restaurant at all or ask us if we had been there before. She was VERY serious and didnt show any emotion that was associated with happiness or joy. Whenever some of us would try to order something, she would just walk away. The menu didnt even explain what was in the food or what it even was. My friend ordered something when all of us put out orders in and then after most of us got our food, our waitress told her that they were out of it. Why would you wait until the last second to tell her that? So then my friend ordered again. The lady came back and told her that they were out of the second thing that she ordered too! The third time that she ordered something, they finally had it. Another one of my friend ordered sushi of some type and it only came with 2 PIECES. AND... when she bit into it, there was wasabi. No where on the menu did it say that wasabi was already inside of it. Three of my other friends ordered sushi and it was HORRIBLE. ALL OF THE FISH TASTED LIKE IT WAS FROM A CAN. The fish was slimy and didnt taste like it was suppose to AT ALL. It was all just gross in general. There was also small red balls on some of the sushi which Im guessing were fish eggs. They were BRIGHT red, like neon colored. I know for a fact that those were not the color that they were suppose to be. They color from them was bleeding into the rice so it looked like they were dyed. One of my friends and I ordered chicken teriyaki because Its our favorite and let me tell you, this is the worst chicken teriyaki that Ive ever had. The teriyaki sauce was "goopy" and the texture was EXACTLY the same as slime. The chicken in it didnt taste like chicken AT ALL. The texture wasnt even "chicken like." The broccoli in it was FROZEN. I tried biting into a piece of it and it was hard as a rock and suuupper cold. I also ordered chicken fried rice and the smell was DISGUSTING. The rice had no taste AT ALL. The chicken in it looked like it was from Campbells chicken noodle soup. NO ONE AT ALL OF THEIR FOOD. One of my friends asked to get the sushi taken off of her bill and the lady said "I will try." I dont know if they took it off or not, hopefully they did. And whenever the lady (our waitress) would walk away, she would make a face of disgust. Almost everyone felt a little weird after eating including myself. One of my friends actually doesnt feel good AT ALL. She feels like she is going to throw up. If I had to rate this place it would be 0 out of 10. And I wouldnt even give this place one star. DO NOT COME HERE!

Visiting from Nashville and tried this place yesterday for lunch. It was good but didnt quite meet my expectations from the reviews that said it was "the best!" This review is based solely on what I had, which was the Bibimbap and 6 pcs sushi lunch. I was expecting dolsot bibimbap but was presented cold bibimbap. No biggie...it was still delicious. The sushi was okay, not the greatest Ive ever had. But I did only have the 6 sushi special, no specialty rolls. I immediately could smell the fishy-ness when it was placed in front me. The fish was definetly frozen and not fresh. Now some might be like, you had raw fish...of course it will smell! No, that is completely wrong. If the fish is fresh, there is a slight smell but it should not smell like an Asian fish market. I never got a drink refill and not once did anyone come by and ask how I was doing or if I was enjoying my meal. There were only two other tables in the restaurant. I actually dont like small talk so I enjoyed being left alone to eat but I shouldnt have to chase anyone down for a refill. The prices were good however and I felt I got my moneys worth. EDIT: I went back the next night for KBBQ dinner and they completely made up for my previous experience. It was self serve kbbq buffet, which was a first for me, but I didnt mind at all. You get all your meats, veggies and sauces at the buffet and bring it back to cook yourself. Never waited for a refill. Highly recommend!

Its ok for people who have never eaten Korean food before. But if you have been to Korea or to Korean towns like in Toronto, or Annandale (IL-Mee) and eaten real Korean food - then you will be very disappointed here. Even the noodles are Americanized. Better go to Korea Garden on Semple Street for food local Koreans eat. But if you want to try "Korean" food for the first time, you are not very adventurous and you really dont like spicy foods, then Sushi Kim is OK - if you stick with the Korean Bar-B-Q. The meat is pretty good, a sweet sauce and not too daring. Not bad for a first try for eating Korean food. Price is a little high too for what you get.

I just want to start off saying that I am Korean and black. I have been to Korea many times and the food that they cook at this restaurant versus the ones in Korea were comopletely different and its not that they were Americanized because to me that just isnt the case They were really rude to my friend because she didnt really know as much Korean and then the worker looked like she didnt wanna be there. I kept telling her thank you and she ignored me. Then I lost my phone and not one worker even helped me look for it whatsoever. I should have to the Korean restaurant down the street. They also paid more attention to the other group of people there.

Worst sushi experience Ive ever had. First of all Im not a picky person. I love sushi and raw food. I went with my 8 friends and none of us ate. Our hot food was microwaved, we heard the beep. Our salmon was canned. Our fish eggs were canned, and Im sure other things were canned. He service was horrible. My friend had to order three times. The first time they forgot her order, the second time they didnt have shrimp. The waiter would leave while most of us havent ordered. Would give 0/10 stars.

The food is fair, but the service is so hit or miss that I have ended up with some very bad experiences. The last time I went, I ordered something that it turned out I didnt like. When trying to return it to the kitchen and get something else, they refused. Saying they made what I ordered and that was it. I grew up in a restaurant family and just dont find this kind of service and customer commitment acceptable. I will never be a patron of their establishment again.
