One of our favorite places to go eat since moving to Winston-Salem. The food here is amazing, the atmosphere is nice, and the experience is top notch. As mentioned in a previous review, dining here is at a more relaxed pace. They give you plenty of time between courses to take it in and talk. Love the service weve received which has been the perfect blend of attentive, yet not overbearing. I have yet to have something I disliked, but I also dont have a favorite either. Theres so much to choose from that I keep trying something new each time. My wife absolutely loves their sweet-and-sour pork though. She has it the majority of the time we come here. At the same time, this is one of the few places that more basic dishes like that really still shine on their own. There are some really nice, unique dishes, but the simple ones arent overlooked and underwhelming as I often find at many places. The meats are cooked really juicy and tender. The rice is soft. The vegetables are just the right amount of crisp. Sunday half-price sushi specials are a wonderful deal. Its hard for me, as this is one of the few places I dont just jump to sushi immediately. The other dishes are just so good! Dont get me wrong. The sushi is great as well. Its just that much more of a struggle. Still, you know if Im here on a Sunday what Ill be eating. The interior is surprisingly upscale and trendy. You wont tell for sure from the outside how nice it will be once youre in. The classy, romantic atmosphere is a nice touch to add to the flavor of the food as well. There are a few tables that might feel a bit more small and "intimate", but other than peak times it shouldnt ever be an issue. They do have some semi-private areas for bigger groups. My wife decided to go here for her birthday last year and they had reserved one of these spaces for us. Not a private room for large groups, but rather kind of like a nook with walls on 3 sides. It made for a nice touch, and if youre interested in any small gathering, it could make for a great location to do so. Im sure once my wifes clinic gets a little larger, that space would make for a great area to have a lunch meeting.

The food is absolutely amazing.... The people are great and i love going. However if you want poor service and a rude waiter then request for sterling. The guy was great at first until After i requested a water. Then he changed his whole demeanour. He went for a good waiter down to a down right awful server, i mean he stopped smiling and he only came to visit us once after we ordered cheap for the day. At first we were gonna leave him a $10dollar tip even tho our food was only worth $9. But after he acted like a little crybaby we decided if he couldnt do his job right he didnt even deserved the $2tip he got. I even heard from one of the dishwashers in the back he was running his mouth about next time i come if i want to order cheap i need to sit at the bar so he gets a big tip from other people. Then when i showed up the next night he told the waitress that he hopes i leave her a big tip like i left him and laughed...... Well she got a good tip that night but you know why its because she did her job correctly made the night worth the visit and made me wanna come back again. So next time yall are out and wanna leave a big tip pick sterling and remember he deserves it........ Now if yall want great service and to give a tip to someone who deserves it and is thankful for anything they get choose Riley, Mike, Caity, Marisa, or heck anyone else but him everyone else there knows how to do their job and and do an excellent job at it. I will most definitely be back just not for that one waiter who couldnt even leave me with the paper to tell about my experience that day maybe because he knows how bad of a waiter he really is..... Again Hakka chow is amazing and so is almost all of the staff this once experience hasnt ruined it for me, Ill be back tomorrow.... Try the Mongolian beef.

I ordered a beer, pork belly and Cantonese style pork Siu mai. The pork belly was good. The meat was very tender and smooth and the skin was crispy. However, the skin was over burnt which I dont like and considering that this restaurant is an Asian fusion restaurant, it does a good job in emulating the pork belly you get in China. The Cantonese pork Siu mai was good because the pork was very tender and soft. It was like eating xiao long bao but without the bun. The scallion that accompanied the dish was very fresh. The only criticism of the Siu mai was that the Siu mai should be served on a bamboo basket and the Siu mai was scattered all across the plate, which I dont like personally. Thats just me though. Overall, this is a good restaurant though it falls flat on emulating authentic Asian food. However, the ingredients Hakka chow uses are very fresh and of highly quality and thus makes the dish seem more authentic.

I visited the Restaurant for the first time on Aug. 15th. I explained to the waiter that it was my first time and that I saw the advertisement on TV and decided to treat myself there. I ordered Crusted Duck on veg. I could only eat the top part of the meal, not all of the veg. because they were gooey tasting and salty, this was the bottom part where the veg, over cook with what look like dark brown sauce.I ordered a side order of veg. fried rice. I got fried rice with egg. I immediate ask the waiter, where is my veg. fried rice. He said that would be another whole order and cost $ 12.00. The manager came over, I explained what I thought I was ordering, he begin to explain the menu to me, but offered no other SOLUTION. Will not visit there AGAIN. Paid for my bill of $ 25.57 and tipped 15% even though I was not SATISFIED.

Hands down the best Asian restaurant in the Winston and surrounding area that Ive ever been to! My girlfriend and I tried Hakka Chow for the first time last night and we were VERY impressed. Beautiful decor and atmosphere. Excellent, high quality choice of dishes without the overcharge. I got the Mongolian Beef and my girlfriend the Pad Thai and we thoroughly enjoyed it. If I had to give one critique, I would say that it maybe took a a little longer than expected to receive our food, but it did not go unnoticed by our waitress and she apologized. The deliciousness of the meal made it worth it. All in all, fantastic, high quality place - we will be back often and have already told family and friends about it. Thanks for the great food and experience!

This restaurant has some of the best and greatest selection of Asian food in the Triad. It is one of those places you just want to keep coming back to so you can continue trying the many options on the menu. They have great drinks (and an extensive drink listing), food, and the staff is extremely friendly and catering to guests. I have also attending large group gatherings/dinners here and found that they did a phenomenal job serving a large group and appropriately dividing the check. Given the quality of food here, I found the prices to be reasonable and comparable to other high-end Asian restaurants in the area. I would highly recommend stopping in for a meal (and youll absolutely have to come back to try something else)!
