Make sure you are ready to pay even if the chef messes up the dish you ordered. We ordered paneer butter masala and it was extremely salty so that as soon as it touches the tounge, first flavor you get is of salt. i called the waitress and explaind her. at fist she was not ready to believe that is the case, i told her to taste it and she then took it away. after 10 mins she bring back the dish again (same dish just with some fixes) It still tastes salty. I told her it is the same dish they did not make it again.. she goes no he made it.. After I explained her that the gravy and paneer both tastes salty just like the old dish she goes yeah they dont make another dish once its made.. they just alter it and tastes it. She goes, the check tasted it and he found it ok so there is nothing i can do. I told her we need to order another dish as this one was not good, and she says, i will have to charge for this dish. I was furious but without showing my anger I said thats ok. Then I ordered Kaju Curry, and it took them 25 minutes to bring it to the table. As soon as I saw the dish, I figured it is the same gravy. I hoped that it is not salty. But unfortunately it was salty as the previous dish I ordered. I was so upset as I was looking forward to eat good punjabi Indian food. I called her again and requested her to take it back. she goes no one except you complained about it. I then told her to call manager but he was not there. I told her to call check outside so i can explain him. she was not ready to do that. She said, come back tomorrow morning between 11AM to 4PM. I was not sure how to convey my message to the management so then I decided to share my experience with other locals who likes Indian food and goes there. I hope the manager sees this and takes some positive steps to correct the problems. If not for business atleast for the sake of famous North Indian food specially paneer dishes which many Americans likes. Management: Please dont give customer such food as it will not only hurt your business but it will also hurt other North indian restaurent as customer might think this is what Indian food tastes like and may not come back here or any other place.

My first venture into Taj was two or three years ago; I walked out with a dosa and some tamarind rice. The dosa was soggy, which is to be expected with take out. However, the tamarind rice was pretty bad, almost like Indian fast food, nothing like the heavenly rices I used to find at the now defunct Uduppi Dosa House in Bensalem. I went back because of the good reviews, and in part because I forgot that this was the place I didnt like (there are several Indian restaurants in the vicinity). Lucky me. Both the navratan korma and malai kofta were top-notch, skillfully prepared akin to the same dishes at Palace of Asia in Fort Washington, but with more whole spices and authentic flair, almost North Indian meets South Indian. Im still not sure about the dosa, but I lack the data to come to a conclusion. I will be eating there again for shiz.

This place is great on all fronts - food, service, atmosphere and waitstaff. My husband and I found this place on Groupon. Portions were great - enough to fill you and have a small amount for leftovers. The waitstaff was very friendly and helpful with explaining the menu. They didnt hover either, which was nice. It was just the right timing for checking up on our food, bringing the check and to-go bags. We didnt realize it was BYOB before hand, but thats an added bonus. The people next to our table popped open a nice bottle of white wine with their meal. Highly recommend giving this restaurant a try if you like Indian food! I had a soup and an appetizer, my husband had an appetizer and Naan, and we each had a main dish. We thoroughly enjoyed every choice we picked!

We love this place! Its yummy, quiet, and relaxing. I always get the paneer tikka masala and the vegetable samosa, with some raita on the side. I dont like things that spicy but I LOVE Indian food (go figure) and I LOVE their rice -- and they always make the food just right for a "one"-spicy request. That and the mint raita tamps it down some, too. The Bollywood movies crack me up, but the food and dinner conversation are worth having some crazy tv on in the background. If you havent tried it, you should. Its our go-to place when were wanting Indian food, and its healthy and affordable, too. Hope you enjoy it!

Who ever wrote about this place not being good is obviously a competitor. I love Indian food. I travel all around to check out places and Taj is in my top 3. The food has always been fresh, always good. I dont think I could complain about anything except for the bathrooms are down stairs. They have recently remodeled the place and it is very nice. Great food, atmosphere, and service. Dont listen to the reviews that say this place is crap, it is obvious they are trying to disuade you from trying it. Try it and make your own decission and write a review.

I do not know how anyone could be giving this place a bad review. The food here is superb. The staff is always friendly, although service is not always quick. Just relax and enjoy the slower pace. The food here takes time because it is made to order. The Dum Aloo is the best I have ever had, the Kaju Curry is out of this world delicious, and the Mulligatawny Soup is amazing. Also try the Paneer Tikka and the Masala Dossa, both are fantastic. Really, everything I have ever had here is wonderful!

Delicious and authentic. As a non vegetarian, I enjoyed every bite and could consider going meatless if I can afford to eat here everyday. I always use online vouchers because it can get pricey but its a nice treat. When it comes time to pay it, may take some time to get the check, so dont go in a rush to do something afterwards. Soak in the flavors and enjoy the Bollywood videos. We bring our own beer and wine which helps with the cost of dining out in general.

I was served with OLD Rotten 3-day old food. I complained and the waiter said that they prepare everything over the weekend and serve it for the rest of the week (I went on Thursday)!!! He went back and came back with the SAME ROTTEN FOOD heated up! RIDICULOUS! If the food in stock gets over, it is re-pared for a quantity of 4-5 days. The Food is very low quality food! Dont just go by the taste of it.. it is also unhygienic and smelly!

Dont believe the good reviews. You dont have to be Indian to detect the difference between good food and stale/leftover/reheated/overpriced food. Taj India only serves the latter. Taj is so awful that their veggies taste like they came from cans, frozen, and then reheated. That explains why even cheap supermarket frozen dinners taste better, as at least their ingredients were never canned!
