This place catches your eye when youre walking by. On the portion of it being more than just ice cream, I cant vouch for, but after eating at a local bar my friend wanted a brownie Sundae. First of all, eating and digging out of a cup with a plastic spoon isnt easy. The brownie may have been warm, but it was hard to break in a cup to eat. I really dont think that was effective. Plastic bowls may have been a better choice. Secondly, the crushed oreos werent crushed. They were full sized, making it even harder. All of this for whopping $8.50 isnt a decent price either. Its okay, Luckily a friend and I split it, so I honestly paid for half of it. My other friend who got something similar only ate half of hers and she had similar problems. The wait staff is pretty nice, and its really cute inside. They have lots of ice cream flavors to choose from as well as toppings. But my two iffs are, price and effectiveness. I couldnt enjoy it all too well because it really wasnt effective or efficient.

Been here maybe 20 times. I know, should skip, will try to going forward. One friend enjoys it, mainly the ice cream, after a few drinks after work on a Friday night. So, food has always been just OK, but the service? Truly horrible, no matter what time of day or how crowded it is. And theres NO apology. Weve gotten to know some of the servers over the years but theres a new guy who is SO SLOW and after waiting 45 mins for chips and guac says "let me know if theres anything I can do to make your evening more enjoyable". Sure, bring my dinner within 2 hours, thanks. Do yourself a favor and find another of the many restaurants in the area.

This is affordable restaurant in the Gayborhood. Its a meeting space for community leaders, recovery groups, and the famished of all stripes. It has a long pedigree that goes back to its original location on the 1100 block of Pine Street (where Mixto is now.) Terrific desserts (dont miss the banana cake with the to-die-for vanilla icing.) The sandwiches and salads are great. I swear by the Cosmopolitan Salad (I add grilled chicken) which is large enough for two meals. Great service with waiters who have been there for years. Must visit if youre in the gayborhood.

I had the worst steak ever at this restaurant. The portions were ridiculously small and it was burnt when I asked for medium rare. The apple pie was bad. Seriously. It was all the stuff you dont like in an apple pie, and just tons of it in a heaping brick you dont want to eat. And it is more than 7 bucks! To top it all off, service was slow and they accidentally charged us 30 dollars extra when we split the bill. Good thing we caught that. Ill never come back here again!

Three friends and I ate at the store today, we had the chicken quesadillas, ahi tuna sandwich, and two belgian waffle sundaes. The waffles and sundaes were great, the quesadillas were kind of gross (burnt chicken, lacking any substance) and the ahi tuna sandwich was a little too small for a roll a little too hard. overall, it was a bit disappointing, the desserts were great but everything else, not so much.

We were looking for something with variety near our hotel to satisfy the whole family and settled on MTJIC. The service was friendly and prompt, unfortunately the food was lackluster at best. The chili and quesadilla were decent, the guacamole was not great and the Caesar Salad was tasteless (the homemade dressing was so thin it just ran off the lettuce) - It was very pricey for the experience.

Nothing to get excited about, but decent. On my visits, the food quality has always been standard cafeteria level and the food itself takes a long time to make its way to the table regardless of how busy or slow it is, nevermind an entire order making it to you together at the same time. As far as the ice cream side goes, you cant mess up ice cream, so thats no feather in their cap, either.

Whenever my sister & I visit the city, we always make a point to schedule either lunch or dinner at this lovely, quaint, filled with atmosphere restaurant. We enjoy their sandwich selections and always nice and crisp french fries. We always make a point to save room for their delicious ice cream sundaes! A++

Favorite local place - Eddie is the best waiter ever! Always a good choice when you do not want to drop $50+ for dinner. In and out for around $20....Great menu of standards. Plus ice cream for dessert. How can you loose? (bathrooms could use a refresh though)

Food is generally ok. Go for the desserts! The birthday cake ice cream probably the best weve had. The waffles are great. Lots of different types of ice cream - all look great. Salads are good too - and quite large. Nice staff, fun to be outside.

I can only comment on the just ice cream part because I didnt have any of the more than part. Ice cream was good, everyone was friendly, and we didnt have to wait long.

Food was good (ask for dressing on the side for salads!!), but service was atrocious!! Completely unattentive, slow, had to beg for anything. Disappointing.
