Moving away from Philly has been devastating because I get uncontrollable cravings for this place and its Chicken Salad Chaat. Ive been here countless times since it opened up in 2011, and tried a variety of the lassi flavor combinations. Combining chaat with salad is sheer genius and that credit goes to the owner Hasan who is also behind Desi Chaat House. Seriously, the idea should be patented by him, as its the most unique way to make South Asian street food trendy, hip, healthy, and accessible to people. The chaat serves as the crunch, and the raitas and chutneys as dressing for the salad, with other delicious mix-ins. The lassis are pretty great too. Mood Cafe uses fresh fruit that is frozen so that any flavor smoothie can be enjoyed in any season. My personal favorites are the guava lassi and the pomegranate lassi. I love going back to this place every time I visit philly.

Hmm. I see Im in a minority here by disliking this local joint. The owner was there and he was very nice and quick. There was no description of any of the long long list of chaat options, so I just went with paneer since I knew what that was. Im not very experienced with chaat, so I wasnt interested in trying the one called crazy since when I asked what was in it, the response was, "many delicious things, you will like it." My friend asked if there was one with a lot of vegetables, and she was recommended salad chaat. Both were very sweet and not very savory, even the paneer was pretty sweet. Id go back to try Lassi but I dont think Id get food here again. It was really wasteful that the food comes in plastic take out even if you eat in, and they give you the plastic top too, but then it goes all in the trash when youre done, even if you didnt need the top.

We had no idea this was in our area. We usually go to Desi Chaat House, but this was surprisingly delicious. They have a vast menu. We had the samosa chaat and Punjabi chaat. I loved the dates and mango to cool down the spices. Only downfall was my samosa seemed a day old. The texture on the outside was tough. The owner is incredibly sweet. We went a second time and the credit card system was down. He let us sit down and eat our food while he worked on it. I thought that was really sweet! We offered to pay cash but he insisted on us sitting down and eating while he corrected the issue.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the whole world. The service is always extremely excellent! The food is flavorful, textually exciting and pleasing delicious. I always look forward to my meal and Im always pleasantly satisfied. The lassies are also incredible and its exciting to try new flavors every time. My mother, who is a picky eater her, went out of her way to tell the manager that the chaat changed her life.

We purchased a Groupon, but it was a great value with or without the deal. The food was delicious. We tried several dishes. My boyfriend tends to be picky and isnt the biggest fan of spice, but he practically inhaled the food. Im not the best judge when it comes to food because Ill eat anything, but if he enjoyed it, then I know it was good. We keep saying we gotta go back, we just need to find the time. Really enjoyed it.

This is probably the best chaat house Ive ever been to. The chicken based chaat is absolutely delicious. Hasan adds mangos and cranberries to mix, making a great sweet and savory combo. The lassis are also unreal. You get great portions of a really tasty yogurt based drink. This place is a must try.

Whenever Im nearby, I fight the urge to go in here for a mint lassi. Its so good. <3 Also, I have only ever encountered the kindest people behind the counter here. Someday Ill need to come here hungry to try the Chaat.

Owner is very nice. Plenty of vegetarian (and omnivore) options. Price to quantity value is excellent. Its fast without being awful for you. Lassi, chai, chaat, and samosas have all been delicious.

The lassies are okay but the cheats could be a lot fresher, i.e., made using fresh ingredients that werent sitting out all day! An okay place to grab a snack but nothing to get too excited about.
