Im from out of state and I was in Flourtown, PA visiting my mom. I often eat Asian food as I love the different flavors. I also have celiac and many Asian entrees are gluten free. My Mom and I had spotted the restaurant on Bethlehem Pike, and I was skeptical as the outside signage and appearance was not appealing. However, when we stepped inside our opinions changed for the better. The restaurant was charming and was spotless and very inviting. The staff were very welcoming, and our entrees fresh and delicious. I had the daily sushi roll special and my my mom had a Chinese entree of shrimp with lobster sauce. The shrimp portion was very generous and the sauce was flavorful but didnt over power the dish. The rice was newly steamed, not dry. My sushi roll was beautifully made and presented, and the tuna was so fresh and married well with the other ingredients. I will definitely dine at this restaurant again.

Lets just say I was very surprised that I would get such great sushi and fresh fish in Flourtown. Came in after shoping at near by store and looking for a dinner, sat at the sushi bar, and it was just a great experience. Sushi chefs were great and funny. I was able to dialogue with them the whole time I was there. The food was great. Every piece of sashimi I had was excellent, every roll i had was great. And the server I had was also very cool about being on it with drinks and other stuff that I ordered. I would recommend South Ocean to anyone to check out for damn good sushi and great tempura ice cream.

Glad to have this place close to home! Ive enjoyed everything Ive gotten from them. Lots of veggies in the dishes that come with veggies, which to me is a good thing. If you order something like garlic chicken here, a good percentage of the dish will be vegetables, just FYI for those of you who expect just meat. Our family gets take outs here about twice a month at least. We tried their sushi for the first time recently and will definitely be ordering it again next time! Prices seem fair. The dishes are usually big enough to enjoy leftovers.

Ive been here 3 times now and each and every time, the food seems better than the last! Everything is well prepared and tastes fresh and crisp. Im usually a little squeamish when it comes to raw food, but this place keeps my mind at ease. The shrimp fried rice is exactly how I like it and the fried green tea ice cream is a fantastic dessert! The decorations, especially the lighting and the wall tile, are all top notch, and the wait staff always have a smile on their face. I totally recommend this place to all my friends!

Amazing restaruant! I have been there a couple of times, due to a reccomentdation from a friend- and now i reccomend it to everyone! Fresh plates, great presentation and exceptional service!!! In case you didnt know, this restaurant is BYOB- so bring a bottle of wine to compelte you meal! You wont be dissapointed, elegant and very tasteful dishes for a great price! The food was so fresh and all the flavors complemented eachother well! My favorite is the edemame dumplings- OUT OF THIS WORLD! :)

Flourtown has an excellent sushi & Chinese restaurant. Tucked away behind a gas station in a local strip mall. Excellent signage, so its easy to find. Sushi a bit pricey, but its quite good. If youre in the area, looking for sushi, go for it, you wont regret it. Note: AmEx cards are not accepted. $15 minimum for credit cards -- easy to do.

My office has ordered from here 3 times since they have opened. The Chinese food is awesome, and the sushi is amazing! Sure beats driving the Broad Axe! The people who work there are super friendly, and the food is delicious and fresh! Give it a try, you will not be dissapointed!

Great service dining in or out. My family loves the food! This place offers great food and great prices all in my backyard. I use to frequent sushi places in Chestnut Hill but their prices are higher and the sushi is not as good.

Good sushi, fresh both times I ate there. It was take out. The restaurant was very quiet both times I went, and didnt seem too popular. Parking was good, well lit. Prices were fine for the food, and service was friendly.

Dont know why this restaurant has such high reviews. Service normal nothing special. Their wontons soup suck so bad the broth has no taste just like water with some salts. Lomein suck too. No flavor.

Im cautious with combo Japanese/Chinese restaurants, but the sashimi was good quality/fresh, and large pieces, and the vegetable tempura was cooked too a perfect, non-greasy crispiness.
