With West Philly slowly becoming more and more filled with college aged hipsters gentrifying everything and opening pseudo organic holistic nonsense stores, Hibiscus stands out as a testament to what genuine interest in healthy eating looks like. They pre-date the fad of vegan organic eating, and it shows in the care and effort they put into preparing their delicious foods. I am not vegan and couldnt care less about organic foods, but I have friends who do, and they often choose to eat here. I am always happy to accompany them because I know every item will be superb every time.

Love this Place.. Its my FAVE.. Healthy, Fresh food cooked daily and to order. Many Vegan and Vegetarian options. I love the Salmon Wrap w brown rice and greens, w avacado on Multigrain wrap.. I just moved back to the Neighborhood and found this Gem by accident. Earl is Awesome as are all the cooks and counter staff. I did lots of stuff on my laptop there while eating well w my friends. Going back today with another friend for relaxation and great food. Healthy Living and Options are

Always friendly and upbeat atmosphere. The wait really isnt that bad considering the care they take in creating your food and/or smoothies. Ive never waited longer than 20mins. I have tried about 3/4 off their entire menu and i havent been disappointed yet. The mock tuna could use a bit more seasoning but it was still very good. The smoothies are truly fabulous! LOVE THEM! And they even offer pre-made take out foods and cute gifts. This is a veggie lovers paradise!

This tiny place rules! My partner and are both vegan and were told to check it out. I didnt know Id get to try a Philly in Philly! It was tight as hell! We also split the Jamaican Jerk seitan platter. Both were so good! Im sure that the non-vegan items are equally as good (sure you meat eaters would say better). On top of the excellent food, this place was busy and seemingly a one man show. That didnt make for a long wait. Hes on it.

I must admit, I was just googling Vegan spots and this popped up. Ive been on a binge of eating meats for like two weeks. So when I went in there, I was skeptical about trying something different. They girl suggested the cheese steak. So I tried it and it was actually pretty good. I would like to try more of their food in the near future.

My first meal since relocating to Philly. I hope this is a sign of what else the city has to offer. Food was so good and made me feel healthy. Smoothie was delicious and full of things I had never tried before. I also got a juice to go just because the staff was so helpful, which made me want to try more things!

I had the jerk seitan and it was pretty good, a bit too peppery for me but would be amazing if you liked that taste. The super powers juice ruled, I was sad when I finished it. The shorter guy with the head wrap that worked there and helped me out was super sweet and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

What a great place to get a smoothie or even vegan and vegi goodies. Hibiscus cafe is very rasta. They offer a good samosas. The decor is just as appropriate to their rasta theme. Service is alright,but can say that they do not get to know their customers that well.

The Hibiscus Café is a simple neighborhood eatery offering tasty food at reasonable prices. The vast majoriry of the food is vegan, and what is not is clearly marked. My personal favorite is the cheese steak-- available in both classic and spicy. Five stars.

Absolutely phenomenal Jamaican cafe with plenty of vegan options, the best smoothies in the city, and the friendliest folks work there. This is a very chill spot and they also have take out containers of amazing food!
