5 stars to 2 stars very quickly. I had breakfast @ Tomato Pie Cafe(Harrisburg location)this morning as a Valentines day treat. My girlfriend and I found this cafe last year while visiting for the weekend. We truly loved the place, and by the end of the weekend we had eaten there 3 times. We were so excited to enjoy the cafe as we were leaving town this morning, and sadly it started down hill only moments after we arrived. There was a 15 minute wait so we sat at the back bar to grab a cup of coffee. As we sat down the Barista in a very rude fashion made it clear if I wanted something, I needed to stand 5 feet to my right at the register. Then he proceeded to explain to the young lady helping him that when its busy its important to ignore anyone sitting at the bar. He obviously was in a foul mood, and was eager to make that clear to everyone. We ended up getting our table before we ever got our french press coffee at the back bar. They said they would bring it right over, and followed thru with that. We eagerly pour the coffee only to see its was so weak you could see right thru it, the coffee was horrible. We shared this with our server and she could have cared less. We ordered 2 regular cups of coffee, and tried to move on. After 10 minutes we put the french press and extra cups on the dirty table next to us since it had been left on our table by the waitress, and the the table next to us was never bused while we were there. At this point we had realized that the service obviously was not what it used to be, and still had high hopes for the food. Then the food finally showed up.....COLD. The flavors were still there so the kitchen didnt drop the ball, but it obviously had been sitting. The veggie flip was cold and so was the Salmon Benedict. I have recommended this place to countless people, and 4 couples just this weekend. Finishing our trip with breakfast at the Tomato Pie was something we have been looking forward to..... Sadly we left very disappointed.

After reading the reviews I was shocked by what my family and I experienced at this restaurant. After waiting 30 min to be seated and another 20 min for drink order...I was hoping that the food would make up for the wait (it was a thurs @ 1:30)...maybe I should not have ordered a breakfast item during lunch, but I wanted something lite...so I got the veggie omelet...when it came out the egg was cooked but the veggies inside had not even been sauté...not even a little...when we mentioned it to the server she said the kitchen was probably rushing...everything else we ordered was fine...but what really got me was the lack of the server to try and fix the order...which was simple. When that was not done, we asked if she could take the omelet off of our check and her reply was "NO". Completely disappointing after all the good reviews...half of our order was not good and customer service was lacking. Hopefully this was an isolated incidence but Im not sure if I would return.

After reading some of the reviews I was expecting a regular size, full service restaurant, but its more like a tiny and cozy coffee shop that seats like 30 and has 2 awesome waitresses serving really good food. I think we were really lucky to get here at 5:30 pm and find seating right away. The place got crowded in minutes and I could see some folks waiting for some time. Totally expected being, again, that cozy and small coffee shop wed all love to have near our homes. I ordered the kisch of the day and a turkey panini and Im super happy with my choice. The portions are generous but not too big and the dressing for the greens is amazing. My girlfriend ordered their trademark tomato pie and boy it is good! We didnt order desserts (even though they have like 10 different cakes and pies) and instead got a couple of their signature coffees and they were just the right choice. Id gladly recommend this to anybody passing by Lititz and Im definitely coming back.

Ive always been a huge fan of Tomato Pies Harrisburg location. This location, I believe, is the original location. Food is great, staff are amazingly attentive, friendly, and prompt. Its a fantastic value for the quality and portions, and the lattes and smoothies are top notch! This is a great place to bring the family, have brunch, and theres a great park across the street, too! Allergen (gluten free) friendly with plenty of options and ability to modify most things on the menu. My wife loves the Tomato Pie (imagine that)! Its a very quaint (comfy, maybe a bit tight and a bit loud) historic building, so youre aware, but there is outdoor seating that allows for plenty of room. If you enjoy a hipster-ish atmosphere, this place is definitely worth checking out!

I remember the old Glassmeyers restaurant that was located here and I had a hard time accepting Tomato Pie as its replacement, but the truth is that the food is excellent and both the staff and the decor create a kind of atmosphere that I cant help but like. The food is well-done, although I find the menu a bit limiting for my taste. That said, if youre visiting Lititz this should be on your list for a meal. (Update 7/5/17 - Kudos to the owner for responding...one more reason you should put Tomato Pie on your list when youre in the area. These people care. I have a bit of a limited palate, so you will probably give them 5 stars...legitimately. They should be your FIRST choice when youre visiting the area.)

I honestly cannot say enough good things about this place. Theyve proven time and time again that when it comes to a diverse, yet concise cafe menu and coffee, they kill it every time (in a good way). Even when I think theyve reached a plateau, everything keeps getting better, which Im blown away by. If youre there for lunch/dinner get the ham and brie sandwich, its amazing. And during the fall they make a sweet cubano macchiato that is the best barista-made coffee Ive ever had. Perfect balance of espresso, milk, and sweetness. Oh, and they serve Square One Coffee, which is the best coffee coming from Lancaster, PA. So good! Get here if youre thinking of swinging into the Lititz area.

I LOVE this place. I have tried many of the menu items from the ham and brie panini to the quiche and all have blow me away. If you are in Lititz for any reason, eat here. Their hours are great and so are the prices. The average price of any item on the lunch menu is between five and seven dollars and they have many excellent hot and cold drink selections to compliment your meal. The staff is made up of friendly locals who can suggest further adventures for visitors. They also feature a patio area in the warm months that is quite lovely. Their baked deserts come from a bakery just up 501 and the brownies are to die for. This is my go-to place for lunch with my girlfriends.

located where glassmeyers used to be. this jem of a coffee shop is my second favorite in our town . i will always love my first fav. Dosie Dough for its atmosphere. and the ppl that go there. However Tomato Pie has longer hour which is very nice....and the bristo is ALWAYS consistant. the crew they have running the machine know what they are doing. the snacks are incredible!! my only complaint is that they arent open sundays. im a loyal customer to both and always direct tourists here when asked. as i do not visit the other coffee shops..(ive tried them all) only loVe these two.
