Owners response nasty 1/6 Edited to add: I sent a polite letter via email to the owner. His response? Sarcasm, rudeness, condescension, accusations that I am a liar, and excuse-making. Not too smart for a new business and downright nasty. Now I know I will never go back and am going to encourage everyone I know not to.Why choose to spend my money at a place that doesnt care about my experience after they take my money when there are lots of other great choices? Positives: -place was open when a lot of places were closed due to observing New Years. -Server smiled and was pleasant. -She was patient in helping me find vegetarian options. -Comfortable and varied seating types. -House paper available. -Food came quickly. -Large in house coffee mugs Negatives: -Food was bad: a salad with mushy, almost bad tomatoes and very meager slices of cucumbers. Three olives. -Food was overpriced. -Poor, overpriced coffee. Only one kind; no special type. Very weak and boring. You have to keep going back to the counter to get refills which is inconvenient and poor planning. --When I bussed my table, the server (maybe mgr?) asked how "everything was." I said I was very disappointed and described the meager and mushy vegetables. Her response? She smiled, said "Sorry" and walked away. -They have two options for cream: full 1/2 and 1/2 or skim. In a cooler in which a bunch of juices are. -No sugar-free syrups for lattes, etc. -Napkins are not with stirrers, etc. They are on (some) tables.

Has Square One Coffee (good in my book) and good sandwiches and pastries, yogurts, etc. Ive had Rijuice cold press juices here, the Rome sandwich (chicken, goat cheese, roasted red peppers, greens & balsamic) pecan caramel bar, coconut macaroon, London Fog tea, among other delectables here, & all were delicious. They also have Stroopies. The decor is light & bright, with lots of stained wood. Whenever were here, we stay for a while. I like it!

Subpar coffee, super-apathetic service, and has a weird, creepy vibe. I think its the fact thats some pretty low-key christian rock on a loop. Ive been here twice before and both times Ive felt that I would have eventually been approached by someone wanting to know if Ive heard the "good news" or if I wanted to be audited or something. Prince street cafe is right down the street. Go there for coffee. Ignore this bit of mediocrity.

Great food! Great service! I have been there quite a few times now since it is under new ownership and every time the food (and coffee) has been amazing! Not only is the food tasty, but it is also reasonably priced. The service has been polite, friendly, and helpful, as well. Did not find this cafe anything like the previous review described. I highly recommend this Cafe!

Despite my sandwich only having chicken on half of it, the flavours were definitely there. The sandwich was amazing, probably better without the chicken if Im honest. I also ordered a mocha and probably shouldnt have. It was syrupy and sweet and you really couldnt get a feel for the flavour of the coffee. Definitely worth a stop.

First time experience for my daughter and I. I like what they have done to give this a nuevo coffee shop look. The lines are clean and the incorporation of woods and painted brick with spotlights gives it a cozy feel. Coffee is pretty good too and the menu is much larger then what I thought it would be. I will return for food!

Nice little cafe in the heart of Lancaster City. They serve square one coffee and do a great job of it. Featuring a full menu from breakfast to supper with lot of choices. The staff is super chill and friendly. Would definitely recommend this place to anybody looking for a cafe to go to.

If you are looking for a place to eat this is a great choice. If you are considering employment at Cafe One Eight, dont. It isnt bad at first but their poor treatment of employees and lack of knowledge on how to run a business will wear you down and break you. Look elsewhere for a job.

Great coffee shop! The environment is clean and decor is hip! They serve Square One coffee that you pour yourself which I love! The pastries are super delicious and fresh, the Apple Danish is my favorite! They also have two tables outside which is nice when the weather is beautiful!

I walked by this place probably a dozen times before I actually ate there. From the outside it basically just looks like your average coffee shop. HOWEVER, their food is incredible! The prices are good and the atmosphere is great. I would highly recommend this place for breakfast!

Love this place! Awesome vibe, great coffee. I give it 3 stars because their google page is not updated to say its closed for 2 weeks. Parking is difficult in the city and I walked a long way in the cold to find its closed. When they reopen, definitely check them out!

This is my 2nd day in a row eating here. 1st day, Baja Breakfast was good. Today, Breakfast Stack is Great! I added avocado. Lemon Spice Tea yesterday was great. Russian Spice Tea today, was great too. I love this place. Come check it out.

This is my favorite cafe in Lancaster. Not only is the coffee excellent, their food is AMAZING and the staff is friendly and helpful. Try the pear and walnut salad or the Athena wrap with roasted red peppers hummus- so delicious.

Veg Quesadilla has become my favorite for lunch along with the awesome cafe Mocha. Well I normally replace spinach with caramelized onions and oh man it tasted brilliant. I feel contented after lunch. Great work Cafe one eight.

Ordered the Breakfast Stack and a London Fog. One of the best flavor combinations Ive ever had (each individually), and then when you have the two together, its a religious experience. By far the best cafe Ive been to yet.

I normally get their Yogurt Parfait because they use baked oatmeal instead of granola! And its the best! But today I tried the Gotham sandwich, which had pesto, roasted red pepper, chicken, and cheese! Worth every penny!

The coffee is FAR from subpar as a previous commenter noted. It is without a doubt a spectacle like unto the noonday sun! The aforementioned fool must have been suffering from an onset of Hansens disease....

Ive gotten the chicken waldorf wrap twice now and it has been great each time. Nice casual lunch place with iced teas, espresso drinks, and fresh coffee from a square roaster in the area.

Loved the modern/minimalistic design inside! And the lattes are so good and have the cute latte art designs! I would also recommend the London Fog! Overall friendly services and great coffee ☕️

Incredible salad and cappuccino! I had the Cobb salad and the bacon on this salad was like a religious experience. Baja breakfast was good but not as amazing as the salads.
