Charlies Burgers is a local institution. This is not your typical burger joint. One could describe it as a dive, with really delicious burgers. If youre looking for something akin to five guys, or elevation burger, forget it. You will be sadly disappointed. Charlies Hamburgers are small, flat burgers that have a very good taste. Their shakes are good, but nothing to write home about when compared to higher class burger joints than McDonalds or Burger King. Theyre unique and a bit more expensive than normal, but if you follow the thought that good food brings in the customers, all you need do when in Folsom, PA to find Charlies Burgers, is find a contractors van, and follow it at lunch time. Every day of the week there is a line almost out the door to get at these little burgers of theirs.

Let me start off by saying that the burgers here are amazing. So good that it hurts to write this. Im rating this place two stars because of the health code violation I witnessed during my last trip here. Three people were on staff. One for drinks, an expediter/cashier and a girl on the grill. No one was wearing gloves, the buns and condiments (pickes, tomatoes etc) where all handled with bare hands. The tall young man with glasses handled patrons cash and condiments in succession. This is a major health code violation. So many patrons pass through this restaurant and putting them in danger is irresponsible. Your burgers may be the most delicious burger Ill ever have but its not worth getting sick over. I hope management will see this and correct the infraction.

This comes up on my phone as "inexpensive"? The pro of the place is that the burgers have Crack in them. They taste that good. The cons, to fill myself up I end up spending $12-$15 per visit because you have to order double burgers to equal a normal burger. The other con is that I watch them touch money, food, the ground, their bodies, etc all while making my food. Gross. Customer service is either GREAT or HORRID. There are people there (ponytail dude) that rock. Then they have some teenagers that have made me walk out. Ive started to Zaks because its cheaper. Not better, but cheaper and they actually wear gloves.

Our friend Joelle remembers her grandparents taking her there as a kid. So my daughter, she and I drive 50 minutes down there, taking all highways and main roads. As I left the house I remember thinking: "maybe I should check to see if theyre closed". Who closes on a Tuesday? Many restaurants close Mondays. It was so dark that I dont even know how she spotted it. Painted right on the side of the building: Closed Tuesdays! Worst yet, theres a painting of a cabellero meeting a closed cantina, obviously dying for a drink. Oh I hate Tuesdays...

Heres the deal, the burgers are still very good. Problem is, they hiked the prices up. It says 4.15 for a double cheeseburger and I was charged 4.80. Mind you, they are the size of McDonalds burgers. They even charge extra for tomato(I dont eat tomato). They are getting very stingy and cutting corners. It just doesnt feel as welcoming when thats the feeling. The milkshakes and drinks arent always filled either. Charlie wouldnt be happy with this. The end.

I have always heard how great Charlies was, so I went to try it. I found the double cheese burger with fried onions and a slice of tomato to be simple yet good. I do believe much of their success comes from loyal customers who value a place to eat that has lasted thru the years. I thought the young servers were a touch cocky and the handling of the rolls and accompaniments without gloves was a turn off. I did enjoy the burger....

This is my favorite place to eat! Charlies hamburger is better then 5 guys or Jakes wayback, In fact they may be owned by new owners, Replaced white trash employees with decent people, and open on Tuesdays now. WE drive 40 miles for a $3 cheeseburger. My dad took us there, I took my dates there and wives, and my kids there, hopefully I can take grandkids there someday. A real roadside treat. Even Yuppies like Charlies!

I dont know why but they changed the pickles from dills to kosher and now their everything on it burgers dont taste as good. It must be a new owner that had to monkey around with whats worked for like 60 years. What a mistake! Even the roll was over toasted now. The coke is almost always flat aswell. What was a 5 star place now gets a 3.

This place has great burgers even though theyve gotten a bit pricey over the years. They are a real thing.so you may need to buy a double or multiple burgers. The milkshakes are the best Ive ever had. They are ice cold and not too thick where you struggle sucking it through the straw. Theres seating inside but its limited.

First off I agree with the negative reviews that the burger is thin but their cheeseburger costs $2.02 exactly. Now, I agree with all of the positive reviews that the burgers are tasty. Also, the two people behind the counter were friendly which only adds to the whole experience. I give the place a thumbs up.

Service was absolutely horrible. The heavy set that worked there was to busy clowning around and another worker had to take my order. Because she was to busy talking she gave my food away 3 times. I walked out and she went out of her way to sarcastically wave bye. She should be fired

Classic little hamburger joint, and I do mean little. Tasty small burgers reminiscent of White Castle (assuming youre from an area that has White Castle) but slightly larger. Order at least 2 or 3 if your hungry. The place has been here for years and is quite popular.

Love coming here. The burgers are great and at a good price. The milkshakes, while only 3 choices, are awesome and for 5 bucks you get close 2 and a half cups worth. I recommend these guys to my friends who visit and Im sure youll agree after you try them out.

Size is equivalent to a simple McDonalds burger that is twice as expensive. It tasted good but wouldnt go back again. Funny that others posted how "large" the burgers are. Really!?? It 2.5oz of ground beef! Lol.. Funny locals need to get out more..

Charlies has been a staple in the area for generations. Growing up I can remember my father coming home with a bread bag stuffed full of burgers in little wax bags. If someone asked me who made the best burger in Delco itd hands down be Charlies

I dont get it. Burger was so tiny. Came here because we were told that if we love burgers we need to try this place and all the reviews were good. Im thinking the person never had a good burger before. Definitely not worth going back.

My favorite Cheeseburger place EVER. I grew up 15 minutes away, and now I drive over an hour and a half to go here for the burgers. Before you go, realize that you are paying for the taste and not the size. These burgers are small.
