First off, it took about 15 minutes in line just to get to place an order. Then, after I paid for both of ours, my friend said it seemed high. I didnt think much of it, so I asked the cashier to print my receipt (after saying I didnt want it) figuring it should be easy to do since I just ordered. She then said she didnt know how to do it. Then I looked at the slip the restaurant had and the order was wrong. So I was owed a refund. I was told to step to the side and wait.. so I waited for my food and refund. Got my food, not my friends, after waiting way too long for two bagels (not toasted). Did I mention they toasted my bagel? Lovely. My friend got his sandwich and we ate, so I went to get my refund. The cashier handed it over to another woman, who was rude at best. She gave me my money in cash, didnt even ask if she could put it back on my card for me. Then, she proceeded to give me an attitude when I asked for a refund on the bagel (super cinnamon was HORRIBLE, like eating plain dough) and it was toasted anyway when I didnt ask for that. She gave me an attitude "because you got the bagel" but it was horrible. So she gave me my refund for both. The refund didnt match the prices on the menu, but apparently those prices on the menu are higher than what they actually charge you (this confuses me). I wrote into the company to which a woman ("the owner") called me back and was very rude from the beginning "what do you want me to do?" she kept saying. "If its .50 cents, Ill give it to you" Dont make a customer feel uncomfortable asking for money that is rightfully theirs. I dont get why they believe an attitude like this is acceptable. Also, if your prices are wrong, you switch them. The woman who gave me the refund said prices have been the same since I started here 5 years ago" yet she had to ask an older gentleman what the price was. They couldnt just print out my receipt for me and show me that is actually what I paid. With the way I was spoken to by the cashier who gave me the refund AND the owner, I WONT be back.

I was at work and my boss and I decided to order from The Soup King Cafe because it was a new place that she had heard about from someone who worked in our office building. I looked up the menu online and printed a copy. We ordered a chicken salad club sandwich and 2 small soups. The club sandwiches on the menu were priced at $4.29 and the chicken salad sandwich was $4.89.When I got there to pick up the order, the total was $18.89! I looked on the reciept to see why I was charged so much, and saw that the sandwich was $6.99 and they charged me $3.29 for bacon! I asked the girl at the counter what the bacon charge was for and she said that they dont make a chicken salad club and thats how much they had to charge for bacon. When I got back to the office, I double checked the price of the sandwich from the menu I printed RIGHT FROM THEIR WEBSITE and it was $4.89, not $6.99 like I was charged, in addition to the $3.29 for the bacon. I called and spoke to the owner, who was very rude considering the fact that I was overcharged, and she said that the online menu wasnt updated in price yet and that her new menu had been changed since November! Its now the middle of April, which left ample time for a website to be updated. I wa very displeased with the way she spoke to me and I will never go there again. To top it all off, the chicken salad was bland and the soup was as well! Very dissatisfied Customer.

Ive been here a few times for breakfast. I know that homefries take them forever to make. This morning I called ahead for my homefries. When we arrived we heard them say the homefries were just finishing and they had to pull them off the grill. We added onto our order soup and french toast. The soup came out in ten minutes. After twenty minutes still no homefries or french toast. I went up to the counter to see the homefries just sitting in a container. I told them Id like to get the rest to go since my fiance finished his food. They said sorry homefries take a long time. I pointed out that they were done and just sitting which seemed to go unnoticed. When I got home I also saw that I was missing parts of my order I paid for. Next time Ill just go to Redhouse Bagels.

I am on the fence because the majority of the reviews for this place is from people that work there or know someone that work there. I will be giving it a try just because I enjoy small businesses that are surviving in this day and time. If the service, price, and food are as good as they say. Then I will change my stars. As of now it will stay a 1 star because I do not feel like the reviews are honest... So the star count went up. The service was okay. The wait was not long. The coffee was not good. The breakfast was okay. Not my favorite breakfast spot but it is okay for a quick sandwich.

I have to write a review today....... This place, visit after visit has been awesome, consistent, friendly service, great food, great coffee. A place like this is truly a gem to the community. I would hate to see anything ever happen to it so go, go , GO! right now patronize this business. I go twice a week in the morning and order porkroll, egg and cheese on a different bagel everytime and coffee... the bagels are always fresh and tasty...the coffee is always ready to go with flavored creamers, milk whatever you need...And its cheap!!!!!! I am huge fan!!!!! Thank you !

We ordered our breakfast sandwiches and as we were waiting for them to be made we watched a young man drop one of the sandwiches on the floor and pick it up and rewrap it then come hand it to us like nothing happened. We told me we watched him drop it and his response was what one did I drop. Needless to say I would make sure to always watch them when making your food because not ONE person in there said sorry for the problem. There was no manager working just looked like a bunch of kids who run the place.

Terrible service! After waiting almost an hour for a grilled cheese and a cup of soup the sandwich was served cold. At that point I requested my money back. Well apparently the girl taking orders feels it is more important to take new orders than take care of the waiting customers. I walked out of there with no satisfaction, no refund and zero attempt by the staff to make it right. Wont be back again.....

The atmosphere isnt as posh as places like Paneras, but the draw is in the food far more than the decor. The seafood gumbo and sweet chili in particular are excellent--rich and flavourful, and perfect to sop up with some of their wonderful sliced bread. A real gem hidden in an otherwise unremarkable strip mall.
