I passed through this coffee house about five years ago and absolutely loved it. I made a point to come back today. I had the worst customer experience today that I have had in years. I told the server that I wanted to put my coffee in a reusable cup and instead he put drip coffee in my cup and gave me my latte separately. When I pointed it out, he didnt care and continued to charge me for the mistake. I understand miscommunications but the fact that he made me wrong for it was extremely poor customer service. His demeanor was aloof and uncaring, and I felt as if the shop didnt care whether or not customers came to their door or whether or not they had a positive experience. Unfortunately, as much as I love the selection at this place I will not be returning.

I visited this place for the first time when staying the weekend in Yachats and it was everything I was told about it and then some. Since my initial visit l9 days ago, I went again a few times this past weekend when visiting the coast again. The wide selection of hot cocoa is amazing, and the various teas and coffees make it so that there truly is something for everyone. The food selections for breakfast and lunch are plentiful, as are the amazing pastries. The marionberry.peach.cheese danish is AMAZING. The staff is great and the vibe overall is great. The patrons are friendly and a lot of table sharing going on and interacting with locals and travelers. A must do if you are in town or just passing through.

The coffee, drinks, and pastries are excellent. Their food is good but the menu is limited. To my mind, this is a good place for lunch but not good for breakfast, as the prepared foods are pretty heavy for breakfast (unless you just want to eat pastries). Their menu has many vegetarian or vegan options, which is good, but unfortunately they are awfully sanctimonious about defining what you ought to eat. Customer service is poor, the cafe tends to be loud and crowded, and the hours are limited. This place doesnt even open until 7:30 am (and dont count on the staff to be punctual about opening on time). What kind of coffee shop opens that late in the morning?

I have been going to the Green Salmon for years. Their coffee is the best. They roast the coffee right in the restaurant, and you can see the roaster there in the restaurant. I have heard that a certain lady working there can be short tempered, but I have never witnessed such behavior. They can be very busy, and I know that it can be difficult to give personal attention to everybody when business is booming. I go there for the product, and would tolerate a little less in the area of customer service, since their product is so good.

I was really disappointed with our meal. Everything was sickly sweet, including the coffee, the pastry, and the breakfast burrito. The menu could really benefit from the addition of some savory ingredients... Garlic, onion, cheese, anyone? The burrito was a soggy mass of sweet potato and veggie sausage. Even the ketchup had something sweet added to it. Totally unnecessary, and borderline inedible. I gave a second star because I appreciate the availability of vegetarian options, even if they werent very tasty.

The staff did not greet customers, spoke only when spoken to, barely made eye-contact, did not thank us for our business. They were either hung over or so full of themselves they couldnt be bothered to be the least bit friendly. We left no tip but should have mentioned something to the manager. Were they just really grumpy because it was a beautiful sunny day and they had to work?! We will be in Yachats 3 days and wont go there again. We dont care how good their coffee is.

The selection here is awesome. My problem was with our behind the counter server who was probably the least friendly person Ive ever experienced in a long time. My girlfriend wanted to go and get her own Cup which she did. When we received our order he had given us an extra coffee for some reason which we did not order but he rudely insisted that we did and did not give us our money back. A really cool place but they need someone behind the counter with some people skills.

green is great but i just had a "specialty coffee" from this place that tasted like they recycled sand and seaweed and blended it and put it in a coffee cup, breakfast wrap that 7.95 and terrible. i should have known better, look at the flavor combinations they are using, people dont buy into the hype, yachats is a beautiful place oregon is awesome being environmentally friendly-awesome.. this coffee and food- crap...sorry i wanted to like it.

Great place for coffee and breakfast with healthy choices, bad place for customer service. At least act like you want to be taking my order, dont always look so damn depressed like you hate your life. You have jobs, so either find a new one or learn to enjoy the one you have. Is it so difficult to greet customers every once in a while ? Geesh.

A favorite place to have breakfast or lunch here. Meet the locals, have an awesome cup of coffee or tea while relaxing in this charming old fashioned, yet trendy place that provides wi-fi. Best of all, their large smoked salmon plate is delicious and great deal. A variety of scrumptious salads. They could benefit from serving larger portions.

This is a very friendly and pleasant atmosphere, but my husband and I found both our meals mediocre. High quality ingredients, but some were under-seasoned and others were over-seasoned (pickled veggies were VERY strong, and I am a pickle lover!). Very interesting selection of hot drinks, not just the usual espresso-based beverages.

We stayed on Ocean View Drive for vacation and I am so sad that I only went here the last two days of vacation! This place has the most amazing coffee blends Ive seen! The staff is so friendly, everything is eco-friendly and organic - even the to-go cups! You cant go to Yachats without going here for breakfast, lunch or coffee!!!

Stopped in for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The service was extremely slow, and the food only okay. The breakfast sandwich was overpriced for what it was, and lacked flavor. They were not too busy at the time (several tables were open), but all tables were dirty - we had to wipe it down ourselves.

I remember as a kid my dad lived in Yachats and worked at the green salmon. I remember going back to the kitchen and greeting the staff. Not to mention the delicious pastries. That was quite a while ago, 6 or 7 years, and they still have a 4.5 star rating. Cant wait till my next chance to stop by

We always make it a point to have breakfast here every morning that we are at the coast. Great pastries and the coffees are to die for...and very friendly staff! I also always come home with some of their lose leaf teas that are hard to find elsewhere.

Ive gone here for years. Delicious pastries. Try the lemon blueberry scone and the Oregonian coffee drink. Not sweet: just right. Very good coffee. Good attention to detail. When it busy, you have to wait. But its Yachats! Enjoy!
