The baristas were nice and they had a great variety of pastries, snacks and drinks. Also, what I ordered tasted good. For some reason, numerous coffee shops offer Italian soda and more often then not totally mess them up but this place got it right so I assume if they make something that is often screwed up right, everything else is probably easily good. They had really neat bottled drinks that were healthy and ones I had never seen before that I wish I had time to try. It was a great coffee shop.... for older people. I felt pretty out of place as a college student wanting to study. There were a lot of kids around midday when I was there. Its a great place for families but I wouldnt recommend it to younger people looking for that indie or ideal coffee shop study or hang-out place.

Great little local coffee shop. Easy to get in and out of, and pretty fast service as well. All of the employees were super polite and cheery. There are lots of comfy chairs and couches to sit on and get work done with the fast wifi available. I ran a quick speed test and got about 10 mb down and 15 mb up. There are an assortment of sweets, cakes, and breads to choose from. They have a pretty much any speciality coffee drink that any coffee house has as well, but with larger than normal amount of sugar free syrups. To top it all of they even have almond milk with the traditional soy, and lactose milk. I would recommend this place for quick bites, pick me ups, and a place to get some light work done.

This coffee shop is fairly close to where I live. I tend to go to these type of establishments to get work done during the summer. I had an her back tea, which had a good taste, but I was disappointed that the shop does not offer any wi-fi connection and they charge a .25 fee if using a credit card and not buying more than $5 during the purchase. Since I am usually alone in these places, this becomes expensive if I dont order several drinks at one time. Although I liked the shop, I dont think I will be returning, since there are several shops relatively close with Internet, no surcharge for purchase and the same quality product.

Fantastic coffee shop-- pastries are exceptional, especially the croissants. In the morning the various flavors of quiche are also terrific. Coffee drinks are very good and a nice selection of teas, as well. Friendly atmosphere, good mix of people from the toddler crowd (usually huddled in back by the train tables) to students and working folks on laptops or tablets to families playing the board games available for free. Owners are always on premises and are very nice, staff and baristas will remember you and are very friendly. Love Grounded and have since they opened.

Unexpected find. A local coffee shop with an onsite bakery. Spacious area to hang out and enjoy their coffee and bakery items with couches and tables. They also have board games and snacks for pets. I tried the Sausage, egg, and cheese croissant and was not disappointed. The only thing I found odd was that they didnt have a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant on the menu. Beware onsite pastry chefs mean that you will want to try out their sweet and savory goods. Their is even a window to watch the pastry making magic. I will need to try everything here.

I am perplexed by all the 5 star reviews here. The coffee and pastries are fine, and it is a nice alternative to a sea of Starbucks. But they are ALWAYS ON VACATION. Why on earth cant someone else on staff run the coffee shop if the owner takes a break? It is very frustrating to make the trip there and then theyre randomly closed. Also, theres only one register (??) so sometimes on weeks you have to wait forever. Dont count on going here for a quick pop in and out.

This is a wonderful small business to support. Not only do they serve fine coffee in a pleasantly bohemian atmosphere, but also fresh pastries and a variety of unique, healthy snacks. Theres lounge sofas, board games, and even a kid corner with a train table for smaller children to play while mom or dad take a break. Sometimes its hard to find a parking spot in the narrow lot. Overall, you wont miss $tarbucks and youll be supporting the local community business owner!

The staff was SOOOO nice! They were able to recommend all of the yumminess. I decided on a plain croissant and my daughter got the chocolate cupcake and the great white pumpkin latte. All were delicious! They explained all of their pastries are made in house by a French trained chef. Ive lived in the area for years and Im so mad at myself for never coming here. Ill be back to try the chocolate croissant and more!

I love this place! A great local coffee shop, authentic, not Starbucks-ed! One of the greatest things is that the chef is an authentic French pastry chef, and it shows! His pastries are simply to die for! I absolutely love the spinach-feta croissants - I could eat those all day long 365 days a year! (Sorry for finishing every sentence with an exclamation mark, but theyre just so good! ;] )

Plus sides: good coffee, great food (try anything from the bake case, its all wonderful), board games to play and books to read (favs: Battleship and Scrabble), comfy couches in the center, free wifi, power outlets Down Sides: Super crowded on Sundays after church (parents and their kids tend to hang out in the back by the little play area, older and younger couples towards the front)

This is my favorite coffee shop around. all of their drinks are done very well (my favorite being the really rich mint hot chocolate actually). What sets them apart is their food, and pastries on particular. From spinach/feta croissants to blueberry muffins, sandwiches and all in between, everything is excellent. Try them soon!

Weekend breakfast with my husband and to go croissant for my big boys is the best thing in this coffee shop. But wait, my boys surprised me with a lemon and blueberry cheesecake on my birthday. Unbelievably the great birthday treat ever. They have the best croissant, pastries, cakes, and latte. Best place next to home.

They have good coffee and lots of great food options. I only drink regular coffee not any of the espresso drinks but it looked like they have a good selection of lattes and other espresso drinks. There is also a nice play area for kids and a lot of seating available.

Love this place! The food and coffee is my favorite in the area. My husband loves the raspberry almond tart. The staff is very friendly and accommodating to all. I love that they offer a kids corner for moms who want to have their coffee and drink it too!

Love this place, great environment, friendly staff, great coffee (of course) and the best biscotte Ive had (puts Starbucks biscotte to shame). And its right next to an entrance for Huntley Meadows Park (i.e., my dog loves Grounded Coffee too :)
