Im so disappointed in this place. I had been there before so I was really excited to host an engagement celebration for my dear friends. I called a week ahead of time and explained the situation and reserved a table for a large party. The person I spoke with was incredibly nice and helpful (she worked at picnic house next door). When I arrived early for my reservation on Friday with a few little decorations for the table, I stood for about 10 minutes before any staff would even look at me. I finally confronted them and made sure my reservation at 7:30 still stood, telling them the large party would be coming soon, reminding them it was for an engagement and the woman assured us it would be ready. By 7:30 the entire party was there, and we watched as our large table remained dirty and no one seemed to care. We finally were told we could sit at 7:45... with no apologies or anything. The customer service continued to be ridiculous. Our party of 15 would have eaten food and stayed longer had it not been for the bad taste in our mouths from the start. We left and went to Ringside after, and were treated with respect any customer deserves. Portland is known for being a great foodie town. If you want to be treated kindly and get good service, I can name 20 places places better than Barlow.

I first wanted to go here on a Friday night, but was surprised when I called around 11 to see how long the wait was and was told that they closed at 10 PM. Weird. Went back on a Monday night and the place was pretty empty. Ordered myself the Monet Fizz, which was acceptable. My sister really wanted one of the cocktails chilled in liquid nitrogen, but the server was being kind of douchey about it. Granted, she really didnt care what she was drinking and wasnt being helpful about what flavors or spirits she usually enjoys, but he could have been nicer about it. The bartender was a bit nicer about it, and tossed some of the liquid nitrogen our way, which was really cool. Our server seemed a bit offended when I said something about it being chilled with dry ice, and he was like, "Its actually liquid. nitrogen." Okay, my bad, sorry. I ordered the absinthe drink they had on special because I usually LOVE absinthe, but I really regretted it... theirs was just a weird blend and didnt work. Love the decor and all, but maybe would go elsewhere instead of this place next time.

This place is amazing. We came here after a show at the Schnitz, and our experience was unforgettable. It was crazy busy, but somehow every single employee was calm and collected, and someone checked in with us on a regular basis. We never had to sit and wait for anything, despite the place being slammed. We were seated right away, greeted by multiple servers right when we sat, our orders were taken and food and drink came out super quickly. We got the grilled cheese and the hummus, both of which offered delicious and unique flavors. The best part of our visit was our server, Jane. She was so friendly, super patient with us when we were deciding and she was super attentive... she really made the whole experience awesome. We will definitely be back soon!

My sister, husband and I stopped in during the last part of their happy hour since I wanted a cocktail. We sat at the bar and were immediately served water the given time to decide on drinks. We each had a different cocktail from their menu and they were all delicious. This may not be a place to stay all night and drink (cocktails were about 12.00 a peice), but it was great for a quick drink.

I came here with a girlfriend for a drink and it was perfect. They used dry ice to chill cocktail glasses! My friend gave the bartender her favorite flavors and he surprised her with two fun cocktails. It screams hipster PDX bar, but wasnt too crowded and their appetizers (grilled cheese!) were good. Great Happy Hour spot.

Seriously among the best cocktails Ive had; theyre all very balanced and well crafted. Even my husband liked the ones with gin in them (and he *hates* gin). You also cant go wrong with any of their bar snacks; we loved the shoestring fries, brussels sprouts, and onion dip in particular.

Love this spot! Great craft cocktails with a decently stocked bar. Several scotch selections. The old fashioned with eagle rare is my go to drink on their menu. Limited food selections however, so make dinner plans accordingly. Prefect for a post symphony nip.

Love the music and atmosphere here, it gives off an early 1900s vibe. The drinks we excellent as well and they use liquid nitrogen to cool down the martini glasses, which is always fun to watch. Definitely recommend stopping by.

This is a romantic bar with a vintage prohibition era style. It was a great date night experience for my wife and I. Its well located near the Fox Tower movie theater and Directors park. I recommend the Manhattan.

Sat at the bar. Mediocre service (at best). Empty drink glass for 25 mins. Place half empty. Watched the bartender run out of Rye and top off with cheap Evan Williams. Decent martini earning it two stars.

Decent cocktails with good presentation (smoke, special glasses, etc.). Stopped by one afternoon and it was predictably empty, but ended up being very relaxing and a great way to unwind before dinner.

Delicious Old Fashioned and friendly, prompt service. The liquid nitrogen is really neat. The manager got us a table next door at Picnic House while we waited. Going back again soon.

You really need to sit at the bar to appreciate the work that they put into the concoctions. I highly recommend the happy hour food and the staff is simply fantastic.

Good bar food. Drinks were good too. Enjoyed the atmosphere, could actually hear my friends speak - didnt have the music blasting so conversation was king.

Fancy drink options. Very stylish place. Seating can be hard to find during happy hour. It is an experience to come here. Nice place to go on a date.

Good food. Kind of slow service the night we were there for happy hour but they had a private function that was taking up part of the place.

Ridiculously pretty space, with beautiful drinks to match. One of the few places in the city where you might feel underdressed.
