I cannot believe this place. Where do I even start? 1) The place was only maybe 25% full 2) The water cups we were seated with were all dirty 3) We waited 15 minuets to make a drink order/ Get our menus 4) Waited an additional 20 minuets to get our drinks! 5) 30 minuets later and we got our (sad) salad and some bread 6) 30 minuets after getting our salad we were fortunate enough to get our food! 7) UNFORTUNATELY the food was not that great. It was good, just not great for the price, quality, and the portion size. 8) THEY DIDNT EVEN USE REAL PARMESAN CHEESE!!! It was from a can, they left it on the table for us in a shaker! 9) The wine was okay, cheep wine, but I dont think I would have made it past the 1.5 hour wait for my noodles without it. 10) The tables had that sticky plastic table cloth over it. At least ours was sticky,,, and it had holes in it. And the tip of the hat, the cherry on top, the thing that really set my nice dinner (because i have wanted to come here for so long) with my husband to a perfect place, the cook. 11) Just towards the end of the meal (literally 5 bites left) the cook comes out and slams, yes slams; down the appetizer on our table saying "Sorry this took so long" and walked away. The waitress was really nice. She for some reason was super rushed and confused, to which I am not sure of why because there wasnt that many people there. The owner was okay, she was pleasant at first. When the owner was ringing up she acknowledged that it took 2 hours to get our food but that was it. She didnt render an apology she didnt anything, just rang me up and bid me a good day. 60$ for something I could have made better at home, because mine really IS better. I honestly think Im more upset with the let-down of it. I have been asking my husband to take me there for something like 9 months, and it was horrible. I cried. I just wanted to somewhere different then Chinook Winds, Nanas, or Thai. I love my husband enough to say that it didnt ruin our night, it was just such a bad place to eat. I mean Cmon! Dont claim to be Fine Dining" when your not. Just Lower your prices and hire some better staff, like all the other places, or better yet Change your business so that you actually are fine dining.

I talked my husband into eating at the Green Gables Italian Cafe in Newport, OR tonight. We stood in the entry for 2-3 minutes before a staff person came out of the kitchen delivering food to another party. The "first bites" were soggy and had just a few ingredients on it - not what was on the menu. The salad came and the house salad dressing consisted of oil - but not the olive oil as advertised. The herbs were in the bottom of the dressing and were not properly infused. The spinach gnocchi was awful! It was like a library glue paste, it was undercooked and didn’t have any seasoning. My husband’s lasagna looked like someone took a dump on his plate! We told the Owners that we would pay for what we ate and drank = 3 glasses of wine, 2 “first bites” a salad. We didn’t eat the under cooked, bread. We made it clear we would pay for part of the bill. The chef presented the bill to my husband and it was $77.25. My husband told her that wasnt right and she said she would call the police if he didnt pay. He crossed off the gratuity on the receipt, wrote the total of $77.25 on the bottom of the receipt and wrote UNDER PROTEST. When we checked our bank account one hour later, the chef had charged us $84.97. Our bill for what we consumed should have been $42.00. The chef is a bully - she yells at you and you cant reason with her.

The worst, most disgusting food Ive ever had. The sauce was black and the fettuccine noodles were stuck together on a tiny plate along with the picnic like table cloths and it being way overpriced. But thats not all, we decided to leave and pay for the salads and drinks but not the food and the lady flipped out, but we still ended up paying full price for the one bite we took out of the garbage food.

Stopped here for a quick lunch, but ended up enjoying some great coffee and delicious home-made pasta dishes! We could hear the pesto being blended fresh, and the cheesecake was to die for. The relaxed ambiance is perfect small groups OR even if youre solo and want to read while enjoying a soul-warming meal. The service was perfect and the prices were affordable. Were going back again today!
