We have been going to this place for years. It is a family-run business who are always working hard to serve up amazing Indian dishes with flavors that make your taste buds dance! They have great hours and are always open late. We see a lot of people ordering takeout from there in the evening. I highly recommend the onion baji, tomato soup and chai tea. For entrees, we just love Shahi Paneer! We first had that dish in California, and at other Indian restaurants but this place makes it the best!! Tip: Ordering your entre "Regular" spicy has got a touch of heat, where as "Medium" is fairly spicy and has got quite a kick. If you are shy with spice/heat, I would recommend Mild or Regular- love it hot n spicy? Go for Medium or Hot!

India Palace is the best Indian restaurant in Maine, end of story. I always favored Tandoor, and assumed that it was simply the best. But then I started eating at India Palace and realized that it blows Tandoor out of the water. The prices are very reasonable (cheaper than Hi Bombay), the food always tastes extremely fresh, and everything is spiced perfectly. Their menu is extremely eclectic and the ambiance is great - not uppity at all. Hi Bombay beats them on one thing: masala tea. But everything else at India Palace is awesome. Id let them enslave me for free food.

We really enjoyed the Chicken Curry and Lamb Madras. Indian food is a rarity for us because it can be so hot you can burn out on the first bite. This time we could actually taste the spices and how the different dishes complemented each other adding to the experience. The staff was extremely helpful and patient with our many questions. We shared three dishes and two Nans and everything was excellent.

Just ok. Very dark place with indian decor and music. The plates arrived quickly and waitress was knowledgeable of the menu. Has vegan option and give you option of spice hotness level. I order the butter chicken and there was a very few chicken pieces. The rest of the meal tasted kind of bland.

Great food and service - My favorite indian restaurant in the Portland area. Everything I have ordered here is delicious! Coconut soup is divine, vegetarian thali is delish..not to mention the great bread choices. Dont forget to order the lucious mango ice cream for dessert! Yummy!

We had dinner at India Palace and loved it. It was the best indian food Ive had in New England. I can specifically recommend the garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, lamb masala (made specially for me after I requested it) and samosa for appetizers.

Had the food delivered. Good appearance and portion size. No flavor and zero heat to be found in the watery palak paneer (ordered "HOT!") or the naan. Oh well.
