The only thing that I ended up eating was the hot and sour soup, which wasnt that bad. My wife grew up in L.O. and said the food used to be really good years ago, so we decided to try it out; plus it was convenient since we just moved from Tigard which is literally 3 minutes away. Typically we go to Yens on main st. In Tigard, my all time favorite! Instead we tried this place an let me tell you, Im never gonna settle for convenience again!! Food was terrible, I couldnt believe the folks from L.O. would stand for this sub-par quality. We tried four different dishes and all failed.

Best Chinese food since I have come back to Portland. I had their strawberry and walnut shrimp and it was a surprisingly good combo. Now dont get me wrong I am not talking about the dumplings, or noodles but for me best American Chinese is judged on rice and favor and this place has the best so far and I have tried many! Plus they were amazingly kind and effective at keeping me safe (deathly peppers allergy) where 3 diff Chinese places in Oregon refused me. So I cant say enough about the place. Clean, well maintained and good food

the customer service was outstanding, the staff was friendly and were very attentive. I went there for dinner around 8 pm, they close at 9 pm and did not rush me and my family to hurry and there were still people there when we left a little after 9. The food was great, we had an appetizer which was also great but I would not go there with children or for a romantic dinner because it was kind of open and there did not seem to be any secluded tables in this restaurant but I would go there again

Now, maybe because I am Chinese and I know what I am talking about.. I have NEVER recvd bad dishes here. However, I dont judge my Chinese food according to fried rice, pot stickers, or hot sour soup. Great Ma Po Tofu, great noodles, bitter melon was great & my bitter melon hating boyfriend actual ate it! My dad was pretty happy w/ the food when he visited. Overall, pretty good Chinese for the price!

My family and I love this restaurant but it is a little spendy for the amount of food that you get and the price that you pay. But, we do like it so much that we are willing to pay a little extra:) I would highly recommend the war wonton soup. It comes family style and is fairly reasonably priced for the amount of food you get- you could easily split it between 2-3 people (depending on ones appetite!).

Absolutely the best. We have lived in Portland all of our lives (60 years). We drive the 20 minutes each way. The 4 best things are their house special rice, general Tsaos chicken and Sesame Shrimp and Kung Pao chicken. I am writing this because my sons girlfriend recommended a place near us (weve tried DOZENS near us). I am mad for not getting Hunan Pearl (but, now I know where not to go).

Went here for lunch on 4/5/10 and got food poisoning. The two people I went with did not get sick, but I became violently ill that night (sickest I have been in my life) and all I had to eat that day other than chinese food was fruits, vegetables, cold cereal and coffee. I wish someone had warned me before I went here. I will obviously not be going back!

If you are looking for authentic chinese food, youre at the wrong place. The hot and sour soup tasted like tomato mushroom soup, and it was neither hot nor sour. I eat chinese food at home, and have gone to many Chinese restaurants. The best food there were the fortune cookies. People may like this place, but it is not Chinese food.

Food was good and served fast. I ordered the Hunan Pearl Combo fried rice. It could have used more seasonings I had to load it with soy sauce that I had to ask for since they dont supply the tables with salt or soy sauce. It was busy but the service was still good as they had plenty of staff to keep up with the demand.

Best Chinese food in town, and Ive eaten at a lot of places. They had a strawberry prawns dish (now gone, hope it comes back) that was so good...I couldnt stop thinking about it. Everything Ive had, at either the downtown or Tigard locations, was excellent. They are quick and polite. A touch spendy, but worth it.

A comfortable place to dine for Chinese food. The food reminded my wife of an old place she frequented when she was a child (called Canon Pearl) and she enjoyed it. My complaint is that many of the entree taste has some very similar tastes and tend to be on the sweeter side. Service is fast and friendly.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant. I wish it was just down the block from my house. Then again - maybe not - wed order takeout much more often. The Kung Pao Chicken is what I order every time - delicious. The Sweet and Sour Chicken and Broccoli Beef are also very good.

I started going to the Hunan Pearl in Lake Oswego right after they opened about 19 years ago. I go regularly and always bring new people to experience their great hospitality and superb food. Great people and always great food. My favorite is the Triple Delight.

I agree Best Chinese in Lake Oswego. We have tried many chinese restaurants in L.O., this one is the best. The sesame chicken was very tasty and bbq pork. Ingredients were very fresh. I will be back, worth the extra $$ for good food. The service was also very good.

We get top notch service every time we go here. Its clean and inviting. Great lunch prices. All the chinese/american staples here, but done right. Nothing tastes like it was from the freezer, just fresh good Chinese food here. Get the ginger chili fish.

We love the food. Even my husband who is from China loves it. We like it enough that this is where we had our wedding luncheon, and were planning to have a graduation luncheon here too. I especially recommend the seafood soup and the orange beef.

Always good, great staff. Orange Beef, Sizzling Platter are my familys go-to dishes. Crab Puffs (Crab Rangoon) are always delicious. Weve gone half a dozen times since moving to town about a year ago. Glad to have found our Chinese spot!

Delicious, consistent food. Very nice family business with long time employees. Lunch special is $7.50 (11:30 am-2:30 pm) and you get hot tea, soup, rice and plate of whatever you choose. Been going for 12 years and never disappointed.

Excellent food in a very nice atmosphere. VERY capable and attentive staff; Tony and Ruby are like family to us. Ask Tony and he will come up with a special dish off-menu for you. Spice levels set just the way you want. Excellent.
