Co-worker and I stopped in for lunch, not sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised, to say the least. The Lunch specials are amazing deals. Soup, vegetable fried rice or steamed rice, salad, and a heaping pile of food for between $7-10. We started with an order of egg rolls, which seemed to be a simple, fried, un-battered rice-paper wrapped, vegetarian variety. Decent, but not mind-blowing. We both ordered the egg flower soup, and it seemed slightly bland, and had far more corn than any other egg flower soup Ive had before. It wasnt bad, but definitely not what I was expecting. I think Ill try the hot and sour next time. He ordered the Mongolian chicken with steamed rice, and I ordered the Hunan Black Bean Hot Chicken with the vegetable fried rice. Both arrived at the table rather quickly, and both were more food than either of us could eat in one sitting. I think we both made it about halfway through our plates before throwing in the towel, and were both big guys with big appetites. The food had excellent flavor, but the texture of the chicken was slightly soft. It almost seemed like it was boiled before being used in the dishes. Not enough to be unpleasant, but slightly off-putting. The service was good. It took us a couple of minutes to be seated, but after that, our server checked on us frequently, and even offered to help us box our leftovers. Overall, this place is quite decent, and considering the price, its a great value. I look forward to trying other dishes. As a side-note, I find it interesting that several of the low scores come from people complaining about the General Tsos chicken. This is billed as an authentic Chinese restaurant. General Tsos chicken is NOT an authentic Chinese dish. Do the math.

Being that I travel extensively as an IT Infrastructure Consultant, I have opportunity to sample the local fare in many cities across the USA. Tonight, I decided to give Taste of Sichuan a go. Lets start with the appetizer.. Handmade Potstickers - I could make these while camping for Christs sake! The meat filling tastes as if it were made from hotdogs. Save yourself a few dollars and just get some Oscar Mayer dogs from the market and some buns....same flavor. The entrees - 1) Sweet and Sour Pork - Soggy sad pieces of flavorless meat hiding in a forest of green peppers and water chestnuts. Breading made from either wet cardboard or the leftover potsticker wrappers. Dont waste you time with this one....its a lost cause. 2) Mongolian Beef - Slimy but the flavor was ok...not great, just...ok. 3) Generals Chicken - WTF is this?! Its supposed to be a spicy yet slightly sweet sauce. This was no General Chicken that I know. This was sugar chicken. The General was so sweet he may even give you cavities. Just dismiss him before your wallet gets lighter. Overall - A poor excuse for Chinese food. The only thing Chinese or authentic about this place are the employees.

What a horrible experience. I wish I could give it zero stars. We were a 4 top. We ordered 2 appetizers and 4 dinners. We had been here before, and expected the meal to come out within a reasonable amount to time frame start to finish.. Boy were we wrong. The first app came out, then one of the dishes.. Then 10 minutes later the second dish. We then reminded the waiter of our missing app, it finally arrived 5 minutes later so the 3rd person could eat something. Then another 20 minutes later the 3rd dish arrived. We asked about the forth dish, he said he didnt know when it would come. We wound up canceling it, and the forth person never got to eat. We asked to speak to a manager, who refused to acknowledge anything was wrong. Saying its normal for the delay of 35 minutes for a 4 top. He was unwilling to compensate us in any way shape or form. The owner, would not come out to speak to us, because he was too busy in the back. We understand family style, but this was absurd. We will never go back.

This review is for the Beaverton restaurant. We went to this restaurant today for the first, and most likely, the last time. We went after work at around 7 pm, so obviously we were somewhat hungry. We ordered the food and then had to wait for about 40 minutes for it to arrive. In any decent restaurant, the server or the manager would come and explain the cause of delay. But that did not happen. I believe the server just forgot about our food, and when I asked, they realized that we had also ordered something. All other customers around us, most of whom came after us, were getting their dishes served. No apologies from anyone!! When someone goes to a restaurant, they go there for good time with family. Incidents like this just ruin the fun. Food was fine though, hence the two stars. To the manager: In the hospitality and service industry, I am not sure how you can afford to lose customers like this. Its not just one customer you lost, now I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone, so you probably lost more.

This place is amazing. I am a former vegetarian, now pescatarian and there are plenty of incredibly delicious and healthy veg and vegan options. I really enjoy the 3 kinds of mushrooms on a bed of sauteed Chinese broccoli with special Sichuan sauce (you can also choose Shanghai Bok Choy, both are delish). The hand-made noodles are just so good. My husband eats meat and he has never been disappointed by any dish he has tried. Also, try out all of the soups and appetizers. Definitely check this place out. The prices are on par with the quality of the food and the size of the portions. We havent tried it yet, but last time we were there the people next to us ordered one of the whole fish dishes and it looked incredible. This is not your typical chinese restaurant! Their dishes are unique and authentic. We just recently discovered Taste of Sichuan and are having a blast working our way through the extensive menu. Tip: They are usually very busy so plan ahead.

I heard that this restaurant is good, so I gave it a try yesterday. We went there to get to-go order, we placed the order by 6:27pm, they told us it will take about 15 minutes to get it ready. It took them more than 40 minutes to get it done! we left by 7:13pm. Not just made us to wait for the food for long time, they also gave us different what we ordered! The place is in mess, no waiting system, people coming and just waiting, and when hostess try to seated people, she was shouting out which one first, even though that was her job to take their name. Parking.... Good luck finding a parking aft 6pm, some people were dump that they parked in 2 spots... The only thing was good from the wrong order that we got was the sweet and sour soup. BTW the prices over there it should be $$-$$$ = Moderate to Expensive.

Not sure what people are complaining about and why any negative reviews. This place is moderately priced, base on the huge portions you get (its a deal), the deliciouly traditional food is served sichuan family style which means you order 2 or more plates and share (hence the lazy susan on the tables) one of the only places around that cook with sichuan pepperscorns (its a yummy spice that is traditionaly used to spice things up some would say it numbs the tongue). The menu is huge, the service is great, the portions are large, and the food is very good, traditional and fresh. So if you are wanting sweet, savory, or spicey (and I mean really spicey like tears from eyes spicey). then this is the place to go, yes, parking can be difficult because everyone wants to eat here!
