Awful, awful, awful. My wife and I went with her family to celebrate our nieces birthday on 4/1. Our waiter was a total joke. My wife and my sister in law cannot eat gluten. The waiter kept interrupting her and kept trying to finish her sentences. When you have to tell your waiter to stop and listen to you, they need to find another occupation. She requested her side salad have no croutons but when she received it, it had one crouton sitting right on top. It seemed like it was put there just to be an total jerk about it. My wife and I arrived a little later than the rest of our family but we were not offered beverages until at least 30 mins after we sat down. We also never received waters. We had already finished our side salads by the time our terrible waiter asked us if we wanted a beverage. We both ordered iced tea. My wife got a refill, but sitting right next to her, I was never offered a refill during the rest of our time there even when my glass was empty. When we received our food, things went from terrible to atrocious. My meal amounted to a heap of lukewarm whole wheat pasta, a little over a tablespoon of bland marinara, and two large, but not very flavorful meatballs. I decided to just soldier through and eat my mediocre food. Big mistake. Before the bill was paid, I was in the restroom getting sick. My stomach was rolling the rest of the night. My sister in law also got sick that evening from eating their awful food. Fast forward three days later, we check our bank account and we were charged not only for our check but for the rest of our partys check. So now we have to call the restaurant and complain. Avoid this place like the plague.

With good prices and tasty food, the Old Spaghetti Factory is a must try. I have been going to this location for quite some time now; in all that time I have only had one or two occasions be sub-par. The staff are all very friendly and very good t making sure that you are well cared for. Even on busier days they do well at keeping up with tables. The manager is very accessible, and the host staff are good at handling groups both small and large. In the past the only problem I have had consistently with this location is the takeout. While the food is always cooked well, it seems that something always got left out or missed. Lately, however, they have been doing much better and the past few orders have been spot on. The building itself is nice. The eclectic decor and pieces of history from the Portland area is always fun to enjoy. The staff do a good job at keeping it clean . Unfortunately there arent as many windows in the central area, though there are some, so there isnt as much natural light for those that look for that during their meal. The food itself is very enjoyable. I have definitely had better Italian themed fare, but the prices are affordable on the whole. I also enjoy the fact that the meals come with free ice cream, a nice little touch! I would recommend the mizithra/marinara spaghetti combo which tastes great! If youre looking for a yummy salad, the BLT is my go-to. Overall with decent prices for good food, you cant go wrong with The Old Spaghetti Factory

So myself and three other couples decided we were in the mood for Italian but the place we liked wasnt open yet so we went to this place thinking its decent enough and the foods ok, its usually a pleasant place to go with friends &family; we Were having a good time at first talking and laughing, about old times and our different cultures.... as we are waiting for our check the manager comes up to us and said, "I know you guys are just trying to have a good time I want you to have a good time but seems like someone/ some of our other customers are complaining about your table being too loud." We see this lady by herself holding a book and glaring at us, then she walks over to another table Starts whispering and they start looking over at us, now, I will be honest and say we are all Latinos our culture is loud&friendly, much like italians so we are very confused and upset about this. litterally half of the table is teachers, we were not drunk or talking about drugs or anything like that to upset anyone. I feal that at times like these you need to talk to the other person, how can you call yourself a family restaurant and not be OK with laughter and talking? First time in my life we have ever gone to a family restaurant where anything like this happens. Disgusting.

Went on a date with my 12 year old daughter last night. It was a special time with my daughter. I wanted her to feel special. We got there and we were ignored after being seated. It took 15 minutes to get our drinks ordered. Then it took forever to get our food.. an hour. They came up to me and said you havent got your food yet? Then it took 15 min to get our bill. She took my credit card and didnt come back for 15 minutes. We got there at 5:30 also. It was 7:30 when we finally were done there. Did they even put in my ticket? Everyone had come and gone that were seated around us and we all got there the same time. All they offered us was a cake. Like we want a cake? Our bill was $32.00. Food was good but we could go anywhere and with service like that we wont be back. Felt ignored the whole time. Maybe it was how we were dressed but they should treat everyone the same. I was in sweat pants because I wanted to feel comfortable. So much for making my daughter feel special. Just terrible service and like I said felt ignored. Will ignore them when it comes to choosing another restaurant in my future.

The atmosphere even for a busy pre-holiday Friday evening was nothing short of exotic as costumed chaps and dames from the early 1900s passed by to their tables. Ordering was quick and though a 90s favorite beverage of mine is no longer available, I fully enjoyed the courses and timeliness of the food. However there is one thing to note. Drinks were held up at the speakeasy on account of there were a lot of folks for a night out. Water was graciously offered, but alas I declined as I waited for my browned butter and mizithra. Then an interruption from what appeared to be a manager arrived. He seemed very upset that I sat contently and did not yet have my drink. It then struck me that he doubted my salivatory glands and their strength to maintain as I consumed such a pile of dry cheese and butter. This quite upset me that he would doubt my wondrous oral emissions. Though the server was new and learning the paces of such a busy night, she was rather pleasant and deserves recognition! The manager however should keep his nose to the books and not break in on a matter between me and the server.
