Im not an alcohol-drinker -in fact I despise the very existence of all forms of alcohol, as well as most people who consume the crap. That being said, pardon the profanity, but to paraphrase Michael Jordan...it must "shock the **** (snuffalopogus) out of the readers who are analyzing my review to learn that I would EVER frequent such as place as McMenamins. Well, the only reason why I frequented this place recently is because a friend of mine (hes a young geezer who does drink alcohol) dragged me to this place. I couldnt refuse his offer, because if I had, he wouldve ceased to be my friend...and he also was paying for my meal. The McMenamins pub in Cedar Hills is located immediately to the north of Winco. I was shocked that I had NEVER seen this pub until recently as I have walked to Winco and all around CedarHills Crossing many times; but McMenamins is somewhat difficult to see amidst all the cars in the parking lots. The inside of this pub -although it is frequented by "alcohol"-guzzlers- has a very nice vibe that even a "Mormon boy" like me does not find "uncomfortable" or "detestable" whatsoever. The interior is fairly spacious -more so than the exterior would suggest- and is very ornately designed with many hanging plants on rafters below the ceiling. I gather that the selection of "spirits" (or is it "demons?")of this restaurant is voluptuous and diverse from what I could ascertain by looking at the menu -though THIS Mormon boy dont much care for that crap. The food menu isnt nearly as voluptous as the "spirits" menu...but is (barely) acceptable in terms of the number of menu items and variety: There is a couple handfuls of different types of sandwiches, a decent selection of salads, as well as other meals to select from. My "Aztec salad" was somewhat spartan and too simple in terms of amount of ingredients and full-bodies taste but it was still"okay," nonetheless. My friend ordered a "fish and chips" with cole slaw and his meal looked like it was of much higher quality than mine. The burgers that I saw waitresses carrying to customers also looked tantalizing and of high quality. The sauces included on the table (dijon mustard and McMenamins own brand of ketchup) were the best of any brand that I have ever sampled in my life. Even though Im a "bona fide" legitimate alcohol-hater, I definitely ironically would likely give McMenamins another try -given the "vibe" of this pub as well as other factors- and would not mind frequenting this place at least one more time...

It was busy when we arrived 5:30. Our order was taken right away . We didnt receive our food until 6:20. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with grilled mushrooms no onions. I got a burger with onions no bacon no cheese and it was cold the sweet potato fries were soggy and cold. My husband ordered a Reuben sandwich it was soggy and cold his fries were also soggy and cold .He had to ask for a soda refill 3 times it finally came 10 minutes later. Will never go back !! This is the worst McMenamins Ive ever been to. We didnt want to send the food back because it took so long to get it in the first place and we were so hungry. We didnt finish our meal terrible!

While this location is closer to the McMenamins that are more standard pubs, the patio with all of its greenery really help to kick it up a notch above the more "plain" locations. While the menu is also the fairly standard McMenamins menu, one of the location specific items that really stands out are the garlic knots. Every time I order these they are great; rivaling the Cajun tots that are my normal go-to at every other location. Overall this stop is what youd expect from a McMenamins: friendly staff but not lightning fast meals, slightly accentic decor, and fairly tasty food. As with McMenamins in general: bonus points for serving RC Cola on tap.

Im really not a reviewer. Like anyone else, Ive got some opinions, but rarely do I feel the need to let the world know what they are. This pub is "my local", only in the sense that it is well within walking distance from my house. I really want to like it. This neighborhood needs a bar or pub where one can call it home. Unfortunately, this particular McM lacks in food quality and server competency which makes me question why nobody else had given this place 1 star. 45-60 minute average for uncooked food, a pint refill if youre lucky, and servers who are happy to do you the favor of bringing your food.

The walk to and from the main building is always a joy, with inlets to little meadows (where the livery of wedding parties can be commonly seen) and the outdoor drinking area complete with a campfire. In the quieter times, could be a nice (albeit small) place to wander about and converse. The service is what you would expect from a McMenamins: dont come expecting too much, but dont be afraid to say something if youre not satisfied. When in doubt, ask someone other than your server (who hasnt shown up for 30 minutes) - theyll likely get you what you need!

Horrible, disgusting food, good cider though. Youve been warned. Worst burger Ive ever had, hands down. Dripping with grease and completely tasteless. I literally cant remember the last time I couldnt finish a burger, but I felt so sick halfway through I just couldnt do it. Also, we waited for about 45 min for the food. Ridiculous. I wasnt once asked how my food was, not once. The cider was good, but I will never, ever be back to Cedar Hills McMenamins ever again, and I strongly recommend you dont risk it either.

Typical Mcmenamins chain location with an airplane decor theme. Food is consistent and beverages are good. We tend to take the kids with us when doing a diner time frame outing. This place is always packed during this time frame, so service can be quite slow. The waitstaff seems to have high turnover so service can be inconsistent with attitude at times. Theres plenty of parking and summers on the patio when the fires are lit almost makes me want to add a star. Improve service and Ill add a star.

When I go there I like to sit at the bar, have a hard cider they have on draft, and order the fish and chips. When your perched on your bar stool you can watch your food being prepared, which I always like. By the time Im about ready for another cider (if I remember not to chug because it is soooo good!) My food is ready, Yeah! Oh yeah, you can get your order to go and if you use public transportation, be ready to have people wanting whats is so yummy smelling and asking you to share!

Im a big fan of McMenamins in general. Most of their locations are unique and beautiful renovated buildings, with many attractions and wonderful character that makes up for generally slow or poor restaurant service. However, this location is a fairly basic restaurant, with little to distract from the poor service and mostly average food. PLEASE do yourself a favorand visit one of McMenamins premier locations, but maybe not this one.

Service is SLOW! Waiting close to an hour for food is simply unacceptable in this day and age. We gave ourselves 2 hours before the movie, thinking it would be plenty of time. Most of it was spent being hungry waiting for our food. Did not even bring out our appetiser, small basket of Cajun tots, until it was time for the food! Really?! I will remember this so I avoid this location in the future.
