"Your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning." -Bill Gates, Microsoft I have been supporting the shop since the establishment. From the 1st day on I have been a devoted customer. I love their coffee. I loved their kind and courteous service as opposed to Starbucks service. I loved their warm feeling when you came in- the hospitality. Travelling internationally, I had a point of reference and can compare the service between coffee shops worldwide. I saw many of them and the Nervous Dog was quite competitive. In the past year I notice a reduction in the quality of product and quality of service. Orders that were erred. Ingredients that were spoiled. The attention to details certainly in decline. I ordered a latte and received an Iced drink. I ordered a pastry and it was served cold almost frozen. Almost $8 gone to waste. No flavor -no quality. It seems as if the gentleman that serves coffee was annoyed or in a rush to get the order wrong. I was in a rush to leave to an appointment and had no time to mess with order corrections. I just drove away I must have spent hundreds of dollars since the opening of the Steels corner location store. Normally the barista attendant would ask: can I warm it for you? That shows good customer care ethic. It seems as if in certain times (evenings) the attendants are rushing orders through. Paying little attention to the service portion of their job. Its courtesy, Its polite to ask the customer question to make sure the order is right. I saw it in many community businesses, once they become successful, Ego takes over- the love, the care diminish. I spoke to a colleague of mine. I France and in Europe in general there is a culture of dining. The competition is large. Restaurants know it so they are very careful at the customer service and quality of care. An unhappy customer will have his/ hers money spent at another restaurant across the street. I think generally in the US customer care is mediocre. Every manager justifies his / her wrongs rather than admit his errors and try to make it better. My colleague was also poorly treated in the store. She supported the Akron branch since establishment. Same thing. Serving others is a privilege. The Nervous Dog or any local business that treats customers like that should realize it. Customers be aware. Management- please take note. Please be aware that customers are the fuel in the cars tank. No fuel the car stops running. For reviewers just notice that at least a thirds of the reviewers that gave the shop a five star review have done it 2+ years ago. I would say 2-3 years ago the quality was different. New comers have little point of reference since they can only compare the shop to major chains. I can compare the shop to itself along the way. I can give an honest review of the shop development over time. This is honest "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." - Mahatma Gandhi

What a gem of an independent coffee shop! Take a break from your standard Starbucks & stop in to Nervous Dog for your favorite coffee drink or any number of specialty beverages, all branded with cute (if not particularly descriptive) names. They serve pastries & breakfast sandwiches all day, plus plenty of other sandwiches, all of which can be done as salads instead. The staff is friendly, accommodating, & happy to answer your questions or give you a recommendation if youre not sure where to begin. Too cold to leave your car? Nervous Dog also has a drive-thru window. The space is bright & airy, small but not too small, & theres usually plenty of space for customers who want to catch up with a friend, play a board game, or just hunker down with their laptop. The staff doesnt seem to mind hours-long "campers" (like me), which makes it a nice choice for folks who work from home but dont want to work from, you know, actual-home. My frustration here is that one of their two main seating areas can be reserved for private parties (study groups, book clubs, whatever). This is really nice, for the people renting it - but for average cafe-goers, it means that half the seating in the place becomes unavailable, & what little seating is left is either not next to an outlet or is not the sort of table arrangement you can work from (low tables, armchairs, etc., not ideal for laptops). Sometimes, the rented space is only 1/3 full, so the room is off-limits despite much of the seating being totally open. And in my experience, the staff is not necessarily great about communicating that the room is reserved later - so Ive sat down, settled in, & been mid-conference call when Ive received a tap on the shoulder & a request to vacate. So frustrating! I really like Nervous Dog but feel like I cant necessarily rely on their seating to be available when I need it. I enjoy the coffee & the vibe, but Im looking for everyday alternatives.

Ive been going here on and off for years. Its usually Okay to good. Today wasnt great. They were very busy but only 2 baristas. The one said they were both quite new. I felt bad! I ordered the corgi tea and it was okay- it tasted like iced black tea. None of the other flavors or sweetener came through. I had to add on a soda and I was there almost a half hour for that plain "speciality" tea and an Italian soda. They seem to have high turnover and consistently dont schedule enough workers because there is always a longer wait when I go. Theyre always so rushed. The quality definitely was lacking more than usual today.

Im obsessed with Nervous Dog coffee. I like this location over the Akron one as they have more coffee selection. They also make sandwiches/salads here and have a drive through window at this location. In the fall they have their pumpkin latte which is not just like a syrupy Starbucks version. They actually put pumpkin pie puree in the milk and spice the drink accordingly.

Nervous Dog has a great atmosphere and excellent staff. My order is always right. Good selection of coffees including specialty drinks. They have some bakery items and sandwiches too. Oh and One time I went thru the drive thru and they gave my dogs treats! Theres plenty of seating and its not usually too crowded. Theres an outdoor patio too.

Great coffee shop, nice people. Its a little pricey, but Im ok with paying that premium for something more locally owned then something like starbucks. Sometimes its empty, and sometimes its busy with students coming from nearby schools, but its a good place for me to get some coffee while getting some work done.

A nice little coffee shop that has many different drinks - we are big fans of the steamers (you can put any syrup flavor in your steamer!) and different sorts of hot apple cider drinks. The staff has always been friendly every time we go. It is also very conveniently located right off of Route 8!

Love the variety of favored coffee here! Fun stuff! Nice little Shop! Staff is always friendly! Takes a little longer sometimes but its worth the wait. They also have a few smoothies which are also tasty and a small breakfast selection. Love the logo! Adorable!

Awesome place to hang out, meet with customers or study for tests. The artists that they host are always very enjoyable and talented. The coffee is delicious and their food is awesome as well. Relaxed atmosphere and nice and welcoming
