Listen up, Cuyahoga Falls: If you want cheap, unremarkable food, go to an Applebees or a Chilis or a Panera or any number of other basic chains so common in our neck of the woods. But if you want to try some real food, made with love - not to mention care for the environment & our local economy (farmers!) - the Blue Door is ABSOLUTELY REMARKABLE & not at all expensive for the food they offer. It easily compares to places in NYC & DC, especially for brunch, & Cuyahoga Falls is lucky to have it! I cant name a favorite menu item, because whenever I go (which is sadly not often, as I dont live in town anymore), I try to order one of the specials, which always sound so tempting. I do love their croissants (all homemade!), so any time theres an option to order some sort of sandwich that comes on one of them, I jump on it. Their bacon side is amazing, too - thick, juicy - & so is the potato croquette (crispy outside, mushy inside). If theyve got crepes, go for those; if theyve got French toast, go for that (can you tell I like brunch?!). My boyfriend & brother both love their Monte Cristo. Re: some other reviews, lately the folks at the Blue Door have really worked to improve the quality of the dining experience, with new tables & slightly updated decor that better reflects the quality of food they serve. However, its a small place, so be prepared to wait, especially if youre stopping by for Sunday brunch. Aside from the wait - good food is worth waiting for! - my one complaint is that they dont serve regular pop, like Coke or Pepsi. Instead, they serve some organic brand (no refills, out of a bottle, etc.), which is not only more expensive, but also less delicious. Though I understand their desire to remain consistent in their local-no-preservatives-etc. philosophy, Id rather just be able to order a Diet Coke! They only serve regular coffee, too (no lattes or anything like that), so if Im planning to get my morning fuel at Blue Door, I have to caffeinate before I go. Bummer. ANYWAY, the caffeine issue aside, the Blue Door is a gem - probably one thats a little bit too good for the folks in Cuyahoga Falls who fail to appreciate how outstanding it is. But as a native Fallsite who doesnt want to have to go to IHOP for brunch when I come back home, Im only too happy to have such a great restaurant to visit in my hometown!

Ive been there a few times, and was never disappointed. The feeling is bright and very simple. Its not a large restaurant and you may have a wait. The menu is of a European feel - lot of breads. They shop local and baked goods are made on-site. Menu prices are moderate for breakfast and lunch, and dinner towards the high end. The dinner menus are served multi-course, but you can purchase items individual. Their menu changes weekly with some items as a staple. Their food is unrivaled and their plates are presented with a flair of any upscale New York, Chicago or L.A. restaurant can dish out. For a foodie, this place is a paradise. There is no sign out front to say what the establishment is and to see how many cars are in the parking lot would give pause to see whats inside. Their hours are limited to breakfast and lunch Wednesday through Sunday and dinner on Friday and Saturday for a short period of a few hours. I would recommend reservations for dinner as space is limited.

Creative, high quality foods served by an outstanding wait staff. I make the hour drive to enjoy the Blue Door as often as possible. The location is not unique, the building is nondescript. The magic happens INSIDE. Only the highest quality, often locally sourced, ingredients are prepared with care and integrity by a passionate staff. The staff are very knowledgeable about the menu and are a good resource if you are not sure of what you want. I have not been there for dinner. The menus are very exciting. I highly recommend the Blue Door. Oh, the onsite bakery makes the breads, rolls, croissants and pastries that are served with meals and to go. Yum, Yum!! NOTE: If you are looking for a kids menu or belly stuffer food, this NOT the place for you. The food is as good, if not better, than Ive had in Chicago, Seattle, Miami, Denver or Brooklyn.

My wife and I were going to meet some friends here for brunch, there was a pretty decent wait for a table, so we decided to check out another restaurant nearby. Before leaving we stopped by to look at the baked goods, a gentlemen asked if we had ever got any of the baked goods, which we had not. Come to find out the man inquired about where we were from, which was about an hour away. We did tell him we would be back another time to eat there, even though there was a long wait for tables he tried to see if he could get us a table. However being the good place this is there were 14 other tables waiting ahead of us. Out of his kindness he sent us on our way with some baked good to give to our friends. What a classy selfless example of good customer service. If the service is that good the food would be worth the wait.

Have traveled extensively and eaten anywhere from Ohio City and Tremont to NYC, Dallas, Chicago, Seattle, and more. This place is simply delicious. It may be the best breakfast in NE Ohio, and the bakery is insanely good. We go when we know well spend more for the meal, and it is wonderful. Every foodie weve taken there was shocked by the quality, especially at that location. If you are looking for a family friendly, affordable place it is not the choice. If you want to delight in your food for a price commensurate with the quality -- go. As one who eats gluten free, I will suffer for the cinnamon roles, croissants, or bread, and the homemade jelly with then is crazy good. Im getting hungry.

Oh my goodness! Have we found a gem. This restaurant was amazing. We went for brunch on a Sunday morning. We did have to wait about 20 minutes, but we could have made reservations the day before online or called ahead. The food was delicious! I got this flaky croissant with brie and a sour cherry sauce.... omg. to die for. After our meal we went up to the bakery counter and got desserts. The lady behind the counter answered all our questions and mentioned that she made the lemon square we bought. After tasting that lemon square- I want to have her make ALL my desserts, EVER. Its good to mention they even have a drive through/take out window. We will be back!

My wife surprised me with a breakfast outing to Blue Door this past weekend. Everything was amazing, from the warm greeting as we entered, to the Irish coffees and the pastries we ended up buying to take home. She had the Wild Foraged Mushroom Crepe that was beautifully presented and pleased the palate with every bite, whilst I enjoyed the Huevos Rancheros that was a feast for the eyes and was a delight with each scrumptious bite! We had the pain au chocolat and cinnamon roll the next morning for breaky... what a treat! We plan to make Blue Door Cafe and Bakery a regular breakfast and lunch spot!!!
