Think of the diners you see on old sitcoms on TV and youll have a pretty good idea of what to expect at Jims Open Kitchen. Its a place where the waitresses call you "hun" and "dear". Its a place where locals gather and they ask if you are getting "the regular". Typical diner fare is served are very reasonable prices. A best bet is the Big Rich Platter, a double cheeseburger reminiscent of a Big Mac but bigger and with plenty of caramelized onions served with a side of cole slaw, fries and a soft drink. All for under $8.

Great food at very reasonable prices... And they dont stint on portion size here, like so many other places do. (love the Tuna melt, the Monte Cristo, the Reuben and the Herb Nelson-eggs scrambled with cheese, home fries + sausage, ham or bacon). Bring cash, they dont take credit cards. Also, their milkshakes are heavenly (also the rice pudding, if your lucky enough to score a piece)

The classic diner experience (been open since 1959!). If you are a vintage Coca Cola fan, they have a ton of (real) old vintage stuff. Quick service and really nice people. (obviously?) an Open Kitchen and one of the cleanest diners Ive ever been in. Try the waffles, but the eggs/bacon/home fries are a solid choice. A hidden gem in Solon!

great diner atmospher. usually a good storie. Cindy just had her baby, grandparents Rich and Chris beaming. How many places do you go and know the stories as they happen. just like the TV show Cheers were they always know your name.

Caught Jims on St Patricks day. Corned beef with onions and scrambled eggs w toast was off the hook delicious, enormous and only 8 bucks. Wait person Cindy made it even better. Took an order to go home for my wife.

This place is cozy but is always busy. The food is excellent and does not taste like any chain restaurant. The price is really good for the quality of food. They only except cash though. So worth every bite.

The definition of "Americana" should be changed to "see Jims Open Kitchen." Delightful breakfast food and friendly staff make this a must-visit establishment. Once you do, youll be coming back for life.
