I went to The Flying Joe for the first time today after having it being recommended to me by a friend. The shop is very much like most other local coffee shops that have been popping up in the last few years with a rustic aviation theme. They are all about sustainability and responsibly raised products and they are very conscious of health fads by offering vegan and gluten free pastries, baked goods and other products. I really enjoy coffee shops like this, however that being said they did not blow me away. I told the cashier that it was my first time there and she didnt even flinch to offer any kind of assistance. Now I realize that coffee is coffee and a latte is a latte, but usually these types of shops get excited when a new customer comes in and they try to offer some insight into what theyre about, in their defense they were slightly busy with it being Sunday morning. I went ahead and ordered a cappuccino, which is unlike me as I tend to order either regular coffee or a latte and perhaps that is why I did not care for my drink. The cappuccino was a little bitter and strong, yes I know that it has two shots of espresso, but it seemed a little strong. I will be going back to give it a second chance and I will order something different and see if that was the issue, so that I can make a better comparison and decision as to how I feel about this particular shop.

I am sorry to say that I will never be coming here again. The staff has been consistently rude and condescending to me and other customers, and Ive finally had enough. I dont want to bring family members and friends into an establishment that couldnt give a care about your business or treat you with respect. Fortunately, it hasnt always been this way. Ever since the shop opened, I have been a fairly regular customer and a true advocate for independent/locally owned businesses. The atmosphere used to be friendly and full of life with great employees who were personable with you and genuinely enjoyed their job. Its upsetting to me that a place that I grew up with and loved has declined so drastically. For a long time, I would recommend anyone to come to the Flying Joe, but this has been the worst service I have ever had at any coffee shop or restaurant, and I cannot bring myself to do so anymore. I write this review because I care. The few ruin the experience for the many, and this business has a lot of potential. If the quality could ever return, I may consider giving it another try. Thank you for your time.

I went there with friends for the first time today, and I got one of their oatmeal cream pies. It is delicious, but after the first few bites I started noticing short strands of blonde hair in the cream mixture (and I have long, brunette hair, so its definitely not mine). I was totally shocked and grossed out. :( Ive heard great things about them, so I do plan on going back and giving them another try. I was just shocked with that quality contol problem. Finding someone elses hair in your food is a gross experience. Hopefully its just a one time experience.

The food is good, however for the price, I dont think the food is near worth the price. I ordered a quiche from there, and it cost me $9 for a piece of quiche equivalent to a small slice of pie. I make better quiche than they do, and could make two quiches for the price of their one small slice of quiche. I dont believe they bake their own pastries, they have them delivered from an outside bakery. Ive never had the coffee, though Ive had their matcha, and its above average. Three stars because of the convenience and location when in a hurry.

This is certainly the best coffee place around. Inside youll find a very cozy atmosphere with aviation-themed decorations and very high ceilings, all with plenty of tables and sofas to give that "lounge" feel that Starbucks so desperately tries to emulate. Every barista Ive spoke with seems to have a real enthusiasm for their work and the world of coffee, so you know youre in good hands when you place an order. They also have a pretty great selection of loose leaf teas if thats more your speed, along with the usual pastries and snacks.

We found this place with a Google search and was pleasantly surprised with a warm cozy atmosphere with nice music and couches. The staff was very friendly and suggested customer favorites. We were in the mood for extra caffeine so we I had a dark mocha and she had a flying joe. These were the best drinks anywhere! Very flavorful and rich, not bitter as some of the national brands tend to have. We are happy to have found this little gem! Try it, youll love it.

Outstanding local coffee shop. Providing high-end coffee and a great environment. Whether youre just passing through to get your caffeine fix, or meeting a friend to catch up for hours, this is a great spot. The knowledgeable baristas will help you pick out a great-tasting beverage that wont break your budget. They now serve a fantastic brunch on the weekends as well! This is my favorite coffee stop in Pburg!

It was my first time and they didnt really impressed me. I did go for a latte and everything bagel which taste horrible and like a rock , however the staff were friendly and cooperative. I tried their coffee right before I left and I didnt like it . The sofas were Nasty and the place is small and not clean .

The prices are a bit steep, especially for the food (like literally every other coffee shop out there, really), but the service is wonderful, the coffee is great, and the atmosphere is calm, relaxed, and incredibly welcoming. Its a pleasant oasis amid the seasonal shopping chaos throughout Levis Commons.

Awesome Strong Coffee, if you like it served that way. Baristas style coffee, slow percolated teas and coffees offered. Variety drinks offered, food offered, breakfast bagle sandwiches and bagle sandwiches, offered. You can buy a novelty, mug, t-shirt, or sweater with their name on it there, too.

Heard good things about this place from a friend and wanted to stop in for some holey toledough donuts as I dont drink coffee. Staff was friendly and got me in and out quickly. Donuts were a little pricey at 3.50 a piece but not sure if thats their price or holeys.

Not bad, there is a large coffee menu with many local options. However, the atmosphere could feel a little more cozy. It seemed a little too plain compared to other local/non-chain coffee shops. I would also like to see a larger food selection.

A great local gem! I am a regular here and love the services and the coffee. They offer great latte favorites as well as a wide selection of pour-over coffees. Hungry? Sandwiches, snacks, and doughnuts available for noshing. Give it a try.

The Flying Joe might have to become my new place to get work done. The staff has been extremely friendly every time Ive been in there and they have a pretty large menu for coffee and tea in my opinion. Wifi included too!

This is place has the best coffee. Everyone is very friendly, especially the owners. The perfect place to get a coffee(tea, smoothies, etc) and relax. Would be a great place to get together with a study group.
