My roommate and I ordered from Phan-Shin Chinese Restaurant one Saturday evening with a Chinese craving and completely regretted it. To start, we ordered around 7:20 pm, were told that the food would come in 50 minutes and it didnt arrive until 9:00 pm. We called the restaurant after noticing our food was cold and that we were missing a side of rice, hoping for a refund (especially since the food came so late). Instead a worker answered and heatedly explained that they were busy and insisted on just sending another delivery person for our rice side despite us assuring her that it was not necessary. We did get our side rice pretty quickly, but as we started eating we noticed the food was barely seasoned and my roommates shrimp fried rice was burnt with some of the shrimp still gray. She even found a long, black hair in her food. In summary, avoid at all costs.

The location is great as its downtown near a nice park with water fountains for kids to play in, and to find a shady spot to sit, talk, relax, read a book, or just enjoy a nice day. The service was friendly and helpful in making recommendations. They do offer and can make various vegetarian and vegan meals and have tofu available. The menu has a lot of food choices. The food seemed right on par with most of the other Oriental restaurants that I have eaten at. It was good, but not spectacular. The inside was very dated like from the 1980s, with the old dark wooden tables and seats. But overall its a nice place for Chinese / Thai food. Prices are as expected and similar to other eateries of this nature.

The restaurant is clean (i didnt see the bathrooms). the staff was great from the management to the waitress. they were very friendly and had a great balance of being around when you needed something but not hovering and annoying. the food was great. their potstickers are huge and ive had better but they were still edible. everything else was great though. and they are very family oriented. my son is 5 and a picky eater and he loved the restaurant and the food. we will definately go back!!

The food was good but the delivery driver ruined my experience. I gave the driver a $3 tip and as I was shutting the door he stopped me and told me he could break a $20. I asked him what for and he replied for a bigger tip. This is not the first time its happened either, he is rude and will threaten not to deliver to you if he thinks your tip is to light. If youre gonna eat here eat in or pick it up.

Meh. I guess the students in Oxford might like it, but only because they do not know better. Weak flavors, overly large cuts of meat and vegetables, especially peppers, very watery sauces and fried rice with only egg, no veggies. In all honesty, Phan-Shin, while not the worst Ive ever had, needs a LOT of improvement. I sincerely doubt Id ever eat here again.

Everything was great until I realized they automatically give certain people forks and others chopsticks. I wasnt even asked. Just assumed to need a fork and it made my date and I feel a little judged. After looking around the restaurant, it seemed to be a pattern that no one else was aware of. Would have been fine otherwise but now we dont want to go back.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant, period. The owners are very friendly, as is the wait staff. The food is always great and with their portion size you can always count on leftovers. I do have to say that their pad tai is the not the greatest. As long as you stay away from that, you wont be disappointed.

A stalwart of cheap Asian food in Oxford. Its not the best, but its dependable. First place I ever got Pad Thai and it started me down a dark path. Since then, Ive found it to be very hit or miss. However the staff is great and its locally owned. They also have a variety of more authentic items as well.

Phan-Shin is the best Chinese restaurant in Oxford. The food is incredible, the staff is kind and attentive, and the prices are, in my opinion, a steal! My boyfriend and I enjoy coming here for dinner because its right in the middle of Brick Street so there is lots to do after we eat.

BF misunderstood the difference between the dry rub curry & the curry with sauce-so the mistake was our fault. He didnt care for the dry curry. Even so, the owner came out to explain curry 101. She was so gracious, pleasant & accommodating, & replaced his dish with the other curry.

If you ask for the authentic chinese menu, I guarantee you will have a fantastic experience! The wait staff is very genuine and helpful. Once when I called for delivery when I was sick they gave me advice and recommendations (not only for food, but to get better in general!)

Best Asian-American, New York Style Chinese, and Indian Restaurant for miles and miles! Including Cincinnati and Dayton! Lots of vegetables, excellent presentation, never reheated and always fresh, and you can tell the difference.

I LOVE this place! Its right on the main street of the brick downtown streets. Great service and a terrific lunch menu with good prices. I crave this place and drive from Richmond for the Phan Shin fix! (30 minutes away)

I always used to get Thai fried rice. But day by day, their quality is deteorating. Today, I ordered the fried rice, it was tasteless (even salt was missing) and wasnt tasty as it used to be. Never going back again!

Magic wok is better than here. My vegetable delight was disgusting and my lomein smelt like pee. The workers were very kind and polite but quality of the food was terrible. My dog wouldnt even eat it.

Ordered the combo fried rice. Very good taste, and good portion size for the price. Only complaints are that there were lots of onions, and some of the beef was very hard to chew.

The people are nice, but the food is overpriced and terrible. Next time I want Thai I will drive to Clifton in Cincinnati and go to Thai Express or Thai Cafe.

Good food. We generally take home but its always good and hot and ready when we get there. A bit pricey but worth it for the consistency.

Splendid food and a wide selection of it! They also have a decent small selection of wines and beers, and some good Sake of course.

Ive been to a lot of Chinese and Thai restaurants, and this place is one of the good ones! I love their chicken pad thai!
